  • @Gazzz990 new cards

  • Great tutorial thanks

  • Great tutorial man. For some reason I

Really have trouble with this fan, even though I learned almost a year ago. I can do seven other types on fans but I still can't figure this one out. (sigh) well I'll work on it and hopefully I'll get it right eventually. Hey check out my tutorial for the spiral fan, the one by rangerjade9, not the other one( some guy used the same name for a different fan) I discovered it myself and it looks pretty good so take a gander. Happy new year!

  • this is the only fan i can properly make :) thanks man

  • Thx! Cool fan.

  • Thank you for your teaching ^_^

I really like it very much!

  • nice tutorial :)

  • Question:

Why do the first one or two cards separate more than the others + why does mine bend instead of being a nice semi circle?

  • great tutorial ! thanks

  • The real shitty part about doing card manipulations is like this: watch cool card videos on youtube, want to learn how to do them!, find first 10 year old deck of cards in your house, epicly fail because they are worn out.

  • FUCK MY PLASTIC CARDS... im gettin some air cushioned cards

  • dude stop saying its easy, im gonna start crying xD

  • not helpping

  • What card deck do you use? I have a 100% plastic Fournier deck. And it seams they are too slick to hold together, The deck is сrumbling in my hands =(

  • i cant do it

  • is it also possible to close the one hand fan with one hand?

  • @orangemysterio Yes it is, I can make a video on how to do it if you want

  • great tutorial. I feel i should cut my thumb nail for this one.

  • Does anyone else's hand hurt while doing this?

  • "If you remove your thumb you shuld be able to turn it upside down."

Removes thumb, turns upside down, centre of deck falls onto the floor and I am left with 2 cards...

  • I just played 52 card pick up ...

  • Cool. I must be going to buy a Bic deck !!! Thank man !!!

  • dang!!! i had a split spades deck in my hand when watching this video, and when i turned it over like he did, it was the same card!!! i am scared now...

  • i got it first time

  • what cards are they there really nice please tell me nice tips btw

  • Thanks it worked and I am double jointed so

Sometimes I can get like a 3/4 spread

  • The cards moved by my fingers always clump together and are nowhere near as spread as the ones by my thumb...how do I sort this?

  • @will25law25 maybe ur cards are old? old air cushioned cards clump up together, but newly bought cards aregood for fanning :D my cards are old btw :( they really clump up even in the middle of my fan lol hope this helps :P

  • what cadrs are you using?

  • thank you im doin sum great one hand fans by practicing this for like 4 days cool

  • best fan tutorial i ever saw...greatjob

  • @MLGCODSTER24 ok thanks

  • thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!!!!!!!!!

  • nice tutorial

  • 9 people dont have a deck of cards

  • Very good!! I saw the vid and tried 3 time 4th i nailed it very easy to do...

(WARNING if you are having problems bacause they dont spread well then its cause the deck is old...) buy a new deck plastic caoted, I recomend Bycicle rider back for starters...

  • you cards need more manners the farted at 0:31 my thumb is going to cum at 1:12 through 1:13

  • you cards need more manners the farted at 0:31

  • thanks alot my fan are straight but u taught me it right .THANX

  • your vid is the best one hand fan tutor on the youtube

  • Lion spades :D

  • I watched this other tutorial about the one handen fan and it sucked eggs, yours is much better thanks

  • I got the fingering down but my problem is the cards from about a third down to near the bottom of the deck are sticking together enough for the cards to spread well. so when i do the spread move i only get the bottom and top of the deck spreading. I tried using the part of my palm under the thumb to get the rest of the deck moving but when I do that I get loads of gaps and clumps in the fan. what can I do?

  • @ptl763 (I went aren't sticking together enough for the cards to spread well : /

  • @ptl763 Hey, how old is your deck? what brand? try one thing to see, put your deck on the palm of your hand and let the cards slide to one side, what happens? if they slid in clumps then try getting a new deck (recommend bycicle, very good), if they slip together and not in clumps, then i think its technique... make sure you snap all your fingers together and that they are curled and as far away from you thumb...

  • I only can do it with a half deck oO

  • thanx now i know how to do it

  • Here are some tips that i will list. I realized these steps helped me learn the 1 hand fan in comfort.

    1. don't practice for more than 10 minutes the cards will get warm and oily from your hands. Causing clumping and less spread also the oil naturally on your hands puts dirt on the cards.

    2. wash your hands if they feel dirty they will make the cards spread smoother..

    3. use bicycle or some air cusined cards they are only a dollar or 2 and u know there will be work and spread properly

  • @CentsTwo Good tips. But once you become better at cardistry and manipulation, you will develop a light hold on the deck. This means that you wont be gripping the cards as tightly and you wont sweat at all, allowing you to practice as long as you want. I do agree with the washing your hands thing as well as using air cushioned cards

  • i can kinda do it, they have MASSIVE gaps, but i think im getting better, thanks dude

  • Can I do this with air cushion finish?*

  • @MaINamorI Yep, the cards i use have air cushion

  • Comment removed

  • my cards don't have enough friction. they just slide off each other :/

  • when i trgy to fan my thumb moves the top two and nothing else can you help me?

  • @tsunami344 Are you sure that's possible? XD

  • Thanks man! Really good tutorial, got it quite quickly, not perfect of course. :)

  • i got so pissed :D

  • my deck sticks together too...any advice? or advice on what deck to buy??

  • @inuyasha2245 Make sure you have a paper deck with a plastic coating on it. Do not use an all-plastic deck. Bicycles cards are a good start for you

  • @MagicShadow9 ya i use bicycle playing cards and they stick after some time....

  • @inuyasha2245 i've got some advice go find a magic shop and aks for fanning powder it will help you by doing fans

  • @byciclehunter ok thank:)

  • @inuyasha2245 me too !!! It's just practice !!!

  • @inuyasha2245 bicycle deck of cards

    Post

  • how are the split spades? oh and nice tutorial i can do it now thanks!

  • So I can do this fairly well, but whenever I fan, most of the cards stay towards the bottom of the fan. I can't get them evenly distributed. I can get it all the way to a 180 degree, and it's not the deck's fault (using a brand new shadows master)....any tips?

  • @majicstargirl I hate to break this to you, but perhaps it is the deck's fault. Brand new decks tend to be overly slippery, which means the top cards slide much more than they need to be. This results in a majority of the cards left on the bottom. But, you might want to try doing the "snapping" motion harder and quicker. Practice with half a deck first. And i also hate to break this to you, but Ellusionist cards, while they look cool, are rarely any better than plain bicycles.

  • @MagicShadow9 Cool :] thanks for the advice! And yea, I heard ellusionist decks aren't really what they're said to be :P ...They do look cool though

  • hey i can actually kinda do it :D

  • i love split spades

  • Is a plastic deck or a paper deck easier?

  • one question is this possible with older deck ... i mean its not that old but i've been practicing with that deck quite a while and if you see my deck u can notice that the cards start to stick up on each other unlike the newer decks... but its not that sticky as my first deck ever used : ) my deck is about 2-3 months old

  • @KawaiiNyahh Older decks will clump and stick together and will be harder to fan. However, once you master the technique (like REALLY master the technique) then you should be able to fan with decks that are old. All plastic decks are the only exception to this, they are the death of fanning =P

  • yeah its easy with the plastic cards

  • Like KawaiiNyahh, I got that 2! I had a Black Tiger Bicycle Deck and I did lots of Riffle Shuffles. The reason they're gonna stick together is becuz it has some magnetic field or something, kinda a balloon on your head and then put it on the wall. If your cards slide over each other with an high speed, they're gonna get this field 2. You could avoid it by doing not to much riffle shuffles or that kinda stuff

  • u hav 1 of the best tutorials for fanning!!!

  • My Cards Come out Choppy is it the Cards or my Technique?

  • DAVID BLAINS SPLIT SPADES, where did u get those man???

  • so to do the one-handed cut u must glue ur 4 fingers and try to snap

  • how do you spread so evenly?

  • would it work if i have all four fingers on the bottom besides my thumb and do the snapping thing?

  • you say gay at 2:49 ? :D

just kidding , great tutorial got it in 15 minutes now just perfecting that and im good with this :)

  • this is hard

  • Im a failure... every time i do this, it makes only the first few cards come out...

  • this one hand fan work with paper cards only not plastic cards :S

  • Thank you so much! Amazing tutorial!

  • thx man teaching me for one hand fan :D

  • I can very confidently say you have the best one-handed fans I've ever seen.

  • @sharkhead7854 Thank you very much. I appreciate it

  • my fan isnt curved its jst a straight spread in my hand

  • lol i suck at this i cant get from basic grip to starting grip i just drop alot of cards when i move my pinkey. haha

  • Thanks!

  • That was a great tutorial but I get a really even spread until the end and there's only like 4 cards and I do powder my decks any tips???

  • I can spread the cards out but it's not as nice and even as yours.

  • what are those cards called you have ? @MagicShadow9

  • @Rscottsafc Split Spades Lions (Black)

  • @MagicShadow9 okk thanks

  • the fan doesn;t even come out, i mean all the cards juz stick together

  • @tangein look for fanning powerder

  • Andrei jikh cardistry 101.

  • I always get a big bunch in yhe midle and only 4 to 5 cards on each end. any tips???

  • were should your thumb be compared to youre hand and were should it end?

  • thanks it really helped me. I tried it first with a half deck and then i moved on to a whole deck.

  • I have watched this video countless times and I just can't do it. I follow your steps and every time I do it, the first 10 or so cards are spread out really wide, the rest don't spread well, and the top card usually falls off of my thumb... any other tips, besides fanning powder? The deck is fairly new.

  • thanks its easy nowww

  • that cant be lmfao.. as i startet watching your vid i had split spades too and the ace of diamons was my bottom card too.. lolol0lol

  • I should be able to do it if i had new cards, with a kind of plastic layer

  • i like the snapping the fingers idea it makes it way easier to learn

  • ill never be able to

    do it i suck

  • another question about the fanning powder.. when performing magic on the street, do people realize the powder? or is it not noticeable, not having used it myself, i wouldn't know.. do you recommend it?

  • @SEMCEE2010 No, the powder is not visible at all once you apply it. But you can clearly FEEL the difference. But you wont see any powder on the cards and neither with any spectators

  • thanks!!!!

    gr8 tut

  • mine doesnt come out as smoth..

  • thanks a lot

  • thank you soo much i was wondering why my fans were so messed up

  • You do very well, and thank you so much for up loading. I 'll practice.

  • coool

  • if fanning powder pretty much flour?

  • how much of a difference does fanning powder make? is it needed for new decks of cards?

  • @test18258 Nooooooo. If you use flour on your deck, it will be ruined. Fanning powder is made of a substance called zinc nitrate. It has special properties that allow the card to stick together, but still be slidy and smooth at the same time

  • @MagicShadow9 sorry I wasn't asking if there is something else I can use I was just asking if it helps on new decks or only on older decks that are a little worn out.

and how much of a difference does it make.

  • @test18258 Both benefit from Fanning Powder. It can make your new deck more sticky and spreadable. It can also revive your old deck to make it less sticky and gross.

  • @test18258 Depends on the deck. If it's a decent one it'll fan strait away. There are decks out there that aren't really that great for fanning: Tactical Field and Rainbow, to name a couple.

  • damn, my cards fall.

    epic fail.

  • Thanks! This vid really helped me! I couldn't figure out how people did this crazy fan until this vid! :D I can't do it yet but I will keep practicing

    Thanks!

  • are you using fanning powder in this vid?

  • @jwl268 Yes, I am. In fact, I use fanning powder in almost all my videos.

  • are you using fanning powder for this vid?

  • White Centurians... very nice! I got me one a couple of weeks ago, :-).

  • @Alicaint No, these are actually black Split Spades.

  • @MagicShadow9 Ah... gutted! I daint really knar what they look like 'cause a haven't opened 'em yet like.

  • @Alicaint lol fail

  • @detroidxl So I fail because I haven't opened MY WHITE CENTURIONS, where's your's like?

  • Thanks Man!!

  • ha it sounded like he said dick at 0:59

  • So I was trying this with a used bicycle deck and it looked like crap. I thought I was doing something wrong, then I got my black arcane deck and muah!

  • You definately know the mechanics of this. My fan improved significantly after watching your video! Thanks for your help

  • awsome tut, less good riffle shuffle :)

  • Thanks, it worked! Subbed!

  • @Mathenarus,get fan powder

  • i think my cards are too sticky :S... they don't slide on each other well enough to fan out properly

  • Damn, I still do it wrong...

  • thanx but how do u close the fan?

    (same on the thumb fan)

  • subbed to

  • Wow, dude. all of your videos that i have watched have helped me!

  • THNX MAN THNX I FINALLY GOT IT

  • Comment removed

  • nicely done. I do mine a little differently. I do the same grip and all but when I teach this and I do it I tell people to bring your thumb to their pinky then start to spread. As soon as you start to spread move your index finger out of the way because it will prevent you from doing a nice full fan. I find by doing this you don't have to have pressure on the inside corner of the deck. This works beautifully for me.

  • this helped me so much 5 stars

  • :(( i can't do this

  • thank you so much 5/5 stars great job

  • fuck my hands are too small

  • They're never. Practice.

  • That was an excellent tutorial. Thank You.

    BTW, interesting (but effective) angle.

  • thanks for this one

  • thats a good tutorial ! tnx

  • Omgg i did it !!!

    Ty man : )

rate 5 and subscribe from me : )

  • and what if my fingers are too big and does not fall on the card I have a small problem with that = D but 3 finger can do hehe
