Honestly, the first time I listened to this I couldn't go past a minute-thirty. This song had put me in a place where I saw myself in a place of nothing but savages, ripping each other open over childish things. It creeped me the fuck out. Sergio Altamura is one avant-garde mother fucker.
The day of my BSc graduation I remained stuck in the Rome's traffic: it was a kind of nightmare and I risked to arrive late. This song describes exactly what I felt :)
Mr. Altamura, I'm a big fan of your work, but I'll be honest, about halfway through this I was afraid you were summoning satan or something other lmao! very creative though, I liked it none the less :)
This reminds me of something that I don't want to experience. I guess that what makes it so intensely unique. Pretty much ALL guitarists and composers write music on or about something we all want to experience or dream about, then this guy comes along and completely changes the vibe of the instrument altogether. Very few people are able to change the way people think about something, and for this guy to do it with his music - well i just find that incredible.
why does everyone think of the devil when they here this? I think sergio is a genius here considering the fact that the title of the song has the word traffic in it. makes complete sense if you concider the fact that traffic was sent here to fuck everyones day up solely by the devil himself as some sort of freakin amusement or something. so heres sergio explaining the pure agony and torture of traffic. particularly down roma traffic, wherever or whatever the hell that is.....
i think this is just a little much on the noise side, and too little on the music side of the line. i know sergio is an amazing guitarist, but i honestly think he was fucking with us on this one.
@dalealpley I really didn't expect people to like this so much lol. And I think that D3 is coming out this fall (at least that's what I heard) and hopefully google didn't mess this up :p
Yo realmente no esperé que personas quisieran este TANTO lol. Y pienso que D3 sale esta caída (por lo menos que es lo que oí). y optimistamente Google no desordenó este arriba :p
There is definitely some dark and sloppy stuff going on in this music. I can appreciate the innovation but it just appears that the majority of experimental musicians aren't using the full potential of their sounds. After all, isn't it possible to introduce something totally new to the scene and have it sound actually pleasant to the ear at the same time?
@SoldatSolutrea well, just my opinion BUT experimental usually tends to reach the boundary of music vs. noise; reason why it doesnt really sound pleasant the first time you listen to it. As for the sloppyness, well id say he isnt well equiped(rings in betwen strings? cd? bow??)or at least he isnt using the instrument for its intended use.
@blahkaw98 you misunderstood my point lol. i have no problem with what hes trying to do man. what i meant is that when they made the instrument, they never thought that someone would use it the way sergio is. hence why it doesnt sound as "good".
@jonyboulder2 seriously i cant even get it off my mind, this guy creates something out of pretty much nothing, and lame ppl like you who are stuck inside your musical boxes, doing everything "as intended" and replicating the other half a billion guitarists out there, put him down. for shame, burn your guitar and give up music :D will be better for everyone that way
@TheAlexwalker3 could you at least TRY to understand a persons opinion before spewing out yours? Besides, like i said, i hav no problem with what hes doing. In fact i encourage it. All that matters is music(that you listen to it, that you like it...), everything else is just perspective. no one is ever wrong or ever right in this matter.
this is one of the great impressionists of our time, i guess you people don't appreciate Sisley, Renoir, Monet, Cassatt, or Degas? Sergio's pieces are what its all about, enough of pointed, square, befitting music, so concerned with the aristocracy of man's created sound. Drop the "proper" details, enrich the colors, show the last and coming movement, reflect the light, and get lost in our inability to truly grasp the soul of such scenes... and sounds.
