  • @GamelsmurfXXX aqua computer

  • yup. very sexy

  • I have 2 x ati radeon 4870. but i want 2 x ati radeon 4870x2. I have 750 watts of power. Can is just remove the 4870 and replace it with 4870x2 Or do i need some extra things in order to install it properly? HELP PLEASE :(

  • great job!!!

  • @TheMiuPiu thx a lot

  • sorry to say, but try export your video again from the main media, it looks like it 16:9 and rendered, and then its 16:9 again :O SUPERWIDE!!

  • that is one slim cooler

  • What do you use to removed the used thermal grease?

  • @cjgan80 ... just a tissue paper

  • GET TO DA CHOPPA!

  • I am thinking about buying this to cool my 4870X2, and was wondering if a tripple 120.3 rad would keep this chip cool enough on a single loop with an i7? Or would I be better off to have two separate (*gulp*) loops, one for the i7 920, and one for the card?

  • @border43 ... one loop is enough

  • where can i get the cooler send me a link to the site thx. good vid too

  • @cobravenomX1 ... caseking.de or aqua-computer.de

  • @ModMyMachine guess what 2x 4870x2 died on me.... down to the trash can with it

  • @niels2029 warranty ?

  • @ModMyMachine warranty is over :(... irreplaceable..... ill just get the new HD 5870 when i get paid this month, and be sure this time to use rivaT to adjust fan speed.... because i think ATI fan on gpu does not work automatically on peak performance.... or does it?..... i blame dual gpu sandwiches lol.....does the 5000 series card run cooler or just similar temps to the 4000 series?......

  • @niels2029 a bit warmer

  • @ModMyMachine

please could tell me if there is a way just for quit the top plastic, i just want to clean my heatsink, its really dirty, can i do it? o i need to quit all de screws??

  • now 9 months after.

it still works like a charm

    cooled by a 3x120 radiator at >5volts

playing call of duty mw2 for 5 hours and the card is at 45celcious

    i love this cooler

  • Comment removed

  • @niels2029 .. can get even hotter

  • I would mod the stock heat sink so that i could put the large plastic housing on top, makes the card look more beastly in my eyes

  • what is the name of your waterblock, in this video?

  • mentioned in the information ;-)

    aquagratix 4870x2

  • I bought this, worked awesome! from 100'C and more to now 20'C! Im so happy :D

Now a question, is the thermal pads delivered with the 5870 Waterblock as well?

  • If needed they are.

  • what are ur idle temps using this card and block ? . i have the glh gainwood 4870x2 with the ek water block and it sits around 37 c . before i fitted the water block it was sitting around 50c. i also have my 955 3.2 running in the same loop.

  • i don´t use it .. wasn´t my card .. look one post above

  • I have 43°C idle and around 90°C under load at VDDC Phase#1 according a CPU-Z with case open, i3 no oc and 120.3 rad with fast fans around 1700 rpm. I am not happy with load temps. What about your temps under load?

  • He sounds like Arnold Schwartchenegger ( I don't know how to spell it )

  • ?? He has austrian accent or you mean my voice ??

  • I dont think he is.. he sounds more south african.

  • @adamknox german ;)

  • @ModMyMachine

Excellent pronunciation. Do you speak english often?

  • @snedie69er .. yes, regularly thx mate

  • why the gloves and what kind of gloves do you need?

  • Just to keep the copper like it is and to have no static electricity

  • Beast card.

  • the 2 x4870 are noisy i say :)

  • without watercooling ... yes

  • this is sure noisy :)

  • WHAT ??? ;-)

  • Do you lose any warranty for adding this cooler?

  • Depends on card manufacturer

  • Sick.. Does this block allow for crossfire and also where can i find this for the Best price..Thanks , Subscribed

  • yeah .. there was crossfire adapter available .. check aquacomputer . de .. there you also find links to international resellers

  • WOHOO I HAVE THE SAME SCREWDRIVER AS UU

  • :-) good one

  • LMAO xD

  • me too :-)

  • Where do you buy Graphics cards from?

How do I upgrade my Laptops graphics card?

I have ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600

  • hardware dealer ...

  • sera q no tiene problemas con otra tarjeta o ventilador!!!

  • english please :-) i don´t speak italian

  • ehhh spanish

  • Quick Question, Would there be a Problem If

    X2 Cards- err... Crossfire'd' it?

  • no problem

  • Where the hell can u buy this thing at????

  • aqua-computer . de or caseking . de

  • It looked ugly when you replaced it why arent ther water coolers that look cool :-(

  • dont you like it ? most people do. what would your choice of design be ?

  • Um something like more stylish no like a big chunk of metal LOL

  • some kind of fish tank design with fish ;)

  • Ugly? LOL... it looks awesome

  • The name itself says a lot about it: waterCOOLer. It is already cool!

Pretty good video by the way to help starters on their way, keep up the work :)

  • thx

  • very good tutorial...I did my first ever watercooling on my 4870X2...check out my videos on it :) its a 4 parter...or 5 I think lol...

  • my sparkle gtx275 creates a high pitch noise under 3d load (game menus-stories,folding) with vsync enabled the sound is not very annoying, also my friend's evga gtx285 does the same is this normal??

  • unfortunately it is on some cards

  • thanx a billion for a nice turtorial,

im doing this operation next weekend,

you just gave me and my wallet new hope :D

  • :-)

  • operation XD

  • Will this cooler work with a Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 x2 from AMD?

  • depends on the layou, normally yes

  • yeah, just as long as ur 4870x2 is reference design

  • if its reference ... it fits

  • r u sure it is stable?xD

    overclock also ok?

  • sure :-)

  • i havent seen placing the thermal grease !!!

  • i did it

  • dawg where's ur eye brows?

  • behind my glasses

  • nice i am tinking in buy one of these

  • i have that, buy it ;)

  • lol i wonder what would happen if he installed the card without the cooler just plain...with no thermal grease or cooler and try to oc it b4 it frys...i wonder what would happen...probably BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

  • would go up in smoke

  • Which begs the question; who would be dumb enough to install a graphics card without any kind of cooling whatsoever?

  • water cooling? no water.

  • 5/5

  • :-)

  • Is this waterblock better than the EK-FC4870 X2 - CF Nickel? I have 4870x2 from sapphire and I want to try watercooling for the first time, so which 4870x2waterblock is best out there in term of cooling performance?

  • well ... hard to say ... i would of course say ours is better. But judge yourself from pics and of course video tutorials. Anyone else company doing some on their own ?

  • this is the solution i'm looking for ! XD

  • Great stuff mate. Living in Australia this is a must for this card. It's the only thing in my new system that annoys me.

  • Can imagine that

  • is there really a need to water cool the 4870 x2? i own one and if you adjust the manual fan to 45% the temp goes down from 80oC to 40oC, i am happy with that result .anyway nice vids man, looking a at your tutorials and you made me order the NorthQ 3560 WaterChill Extreme Kit haha, hope it goes smooth xD

  • sorry for making you buy waterchill ... ;-)

4870X2 quiet ? then you need water

  • If you do the right job and the block has a good quality ;-) then there is no warping :-)

  • finally some 1 smart enough to use fucking gloves .. i get tired of seeing people handle expensive parts with bare hands and no gloves .. but you my friend have made me smile haha xD

  • using them from the last vids on.....

  • where can i get the bloc?

  • my shop link in the video ;-)

  • are you reading scripts????

  • no, never have one ... don´t have the time for scripts

  • good gob men!

  • thanx a lot gen ;-)

  • Superb guide. Thankyou very much.

  • thx

  • why didnt you put back the X metal thing at the back on the gpus.

  • I think its because there heatsinks were on the gpu so they didnt need extra support, i aint entierly sure.

  • Who do you answer ??

  • Was someone asking why you didnt put the X brackets that were on the back of the GPU cores when teh stock cooler was on there. because when you put the waterblock on you didnt put the two X bracks back on the back of the card, it was tombmxcrowley, but you have allready answered him back :)

  • ahhh ... i see ... the block has more than enough stability .. so no need for the x brackets

  • y not put gpu backplate back on (the x shape ones)

  • y to put back on ? ;-)

not necessary ... so we don´t do.

  • so y is it there in the first place :/ no harm in putting on?

  • won´t work with the screws we supply

  • my question replied!. are the gloves supposed to be for anti static?

  • more for fingerpringts on copper, but yes anti static too

  • woohooo :-) ^^

  • Are the gloves you used for one time use only or multiple? if for multiple where can i buy ahah

  • multiple use .. in my store of course ;-)

  • now take it apart & actually take the plastic off the tim pads & put the paste on the chips lol.

  • lol oc to 850 or sumthing?

    crysis on 2550/1900 at 200fps WHOO :P

  • Do you have any tutorial where we can see how to install the water cooling pumps, pipes and everything related right from scratch? Cheers.

  • everything on different tutorials. But will do one complete soon.

  • i believe youtube will switch to 16:9 someday .. but before just use the gemrna vid and write in german ;-)

  • hi im going to buy the asus 4870x2 as well i was wondoring before i buy the water block online dose putting a aftermarket cooler on this card affect the warrentey thanks

  • it does of course, but some companies allow mounting a watercooler. just ask Asus

  • kk thanks and thanks again for the fast replie

  • i have the same gpu cooler but i have 2 :D

  • what gloves were you using

and were they to stop the static

or to stop the damage to sensitive

    soldering points thanx :)

  • for both purposes, available in my shop

  • Thanks a lot. Nice tutorial... My 4870 x2 is loud as hell, especially when playing Crysis at very High settings + 1680x1050. It's insane!! I'll get my water cooler pretty soon. By the way, try avoiding the widescreen reso for next time.Looks weird on youtube. Thanks again.

  • Hmm, a youtube clip in Widescreen. I prefer not to stare at a screen with half the real estate being black. Good vid, though.

  • wow that hardly seems worth all the effort :D

but very nice tutorial man, great stuff :)

  • its worth ist ;-)

  • OK sry , your right..!

at 3:30 you did apply the terminal paste ..

  • Well it din't show on the video , of are you using clear therminal paste ?

  • At 2:34 I tell everyone to do and at 3:30 I apply it. Fast Forward .. so be quick.

  • Forgot the terminal paste on the GPU's !!!

  • no i did not

  • Yet another great video thank you this is a great resource :)

  • thx

  • Thank you for this video.

  • Thank you for watching. ;-)

  • Can you do crossfire if you make that card so small?

  • sure :-)

  • Ok thanks.

  • quad fire* :)

  • You do such a great tutorial and illustration, Great job on another great video.

  • wow ... thx

  • Great guide :) I'm a water cooling noobie lol, I was just wondering if you have any advice, like common problems people have. Does the pump have to be in any specific place in the case (because of air bubbles etc) and wheres the best place in your loop to put the reservior. Thanks alot for any help :) I watched some videos on your website and I lolled at the video where that guys pc sets on fire and you make him another one xD 5*

  • best place for the reservoir is in the top. pump behind it, but may be placed anywhere in the case. Great you watched the other vids. :-)

  • yo dude, i like you videos, better than the rest because you actually talk instead of using text! Thanks.

  • thx .. i do my best

  • hey are they open baffle loud speakers in the bck ground? i have seen them somewhere before, digital time with those conecting rods to where the subs face backwards, cool vid, the only thing i dont like about this card, all the ram is spread over the top and bottom, and is very sqished, very hot with stock i would imagine.

  • That thing is big

  • yes .. huge and aggresive card

  • Thanks for the video. It came right in time for me, since i am about to do it today.

    Two questions:

    1. Why did you use gloves for the back of the card?

    2. How come you don't use anti static wrist band?

    Thanks.

  • 1. wanted to use it for the whole cooler and forgot to put them on .. just because of finger prints. But they are also antistatic ;-)

    2. i never ever have static electricity ... but i always discharge before starting. Just in case

  • Informative & proffesional, THANKS!!! That waterblock looks AWESOME!!!! One problem... it seems that aqua computers does not want to ship to South Africa. Pity cause this waterblock is exactly what I need since I have a massive thermalright heatsink on my soutbridge that takes a lot of space. Thx again.

  • As long as you pay the shipping i ship anywhere in the world. ;-)

  • and i was just planning to ask u guy to put this video up!!

  • i am fast ... sometimes :-)

  • btw thanks for the help.

  • you´re welcome

  • there was a crotch shot

  • Sorry .. i don´t get what u mean

  • Wow!! A single slot GPU!! ;)

    Another great video :)

  • yes .. one slot as all of our coolers

  • good tutorial man as always :D keep making vids... although i heard a rumor that they will close youtube this september, is that true??

  • thx, never heard these rumours.

  • why the hell would they shut down youtube.....

that'd be the stupidest idea ever...

where did you get your info? -,-

  • cool video dude, but sadly i dont like this card because its supposely insanely fast but it doesnt gives the performance that it should give, this waterblock should work really good for this card considering that it works extremely hot at full load, 95 celsius, thats insane, maybe with this block the card its going to be more overclockable, you should upload a video showing the temperature with the watercooling, keep it up dude and i'll subscribe you :)

  • we already have some guys stating temperature under 40°C idle and under 55°C load :-)

  • nice man can you post a oc vid so we can see its limits? thanks.

  • sorry ... no .. this is a customer card ;-)

  • SCREW THE CUSTOMER!!!!!!1 LOL just kiddin awsome vid tho

  • thx

  • and the card is crazy fast like it is supposed to be but you dont really notice it until you crank up the resolution and aa/af then it makes a difference, in cod4 it got better fps with aa turned on than without it.
