If you want to compare Dilla to Kanye, all you have to do is listen to each producer's version of the Common track "So Far To Go". Dilla's version is on his album "The Shining" and Kanye's is on Common's album. Dilla wins hands down. Don't get me wrong i love Kanye's beats but he will never be Dilla.

his beats are supremely layered. you cant even tell what part of a song he took for the sample, because he can make a dope beat from ten differnt 1/4 second samples. dont get me wrong though... i think dilla is one of the best ever to go diggin'. premier though, in my opinion, is unquestionably the best ever (so far). go canada!
