Michael, Leviticus 19:18 "Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear and grudge against the children of they people, but thous shalt love thy neighbor as thyself..."
@TadCornell Be ashamed I have followed my conscience. You are in a religious organization that obfuscates the truth and is heretical. Teaching it's members they must work for salvation and denying the all sufficiency of Grace from the cross. If I do not preach against this then I would truly be a instrument of hate. Knowing the truth and holding it to myself allowing your destruction in ignorance.
@BrotherMichael1000 No, Everyone must work. Believing in Christ is not all of it. You must be like him. follow his example. James 2:20 "But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?"
@BrotherMichael1000 My church is the one and only true church. You are the one living in ignorance. Did you not look at the scripture I type from the Book of Mormon? So, you claim that all who never heard of Jesus are (since my church teaches against swearing and I consider it a swear word) darned? It seems your teachings are corrupt. Jesus died on the cross so we can repent. We believe that. Why do you satisfy your malice with falseness?
@TadCornell John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. "As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself", except it "abide in the vine" no more can ye, except ye abide in me. If you had known the truth you would understand that works are a result of faith. The works themselves do not save. It is only by the faith in Jesus Christ that you are saved. A workmanship of God. I do not recognize the book of mormon as it is not a testimony of Christ.
@TadCornell I will say right now to a Christian the Book of Mormon has no more authority than that of the gospel of thomas or the book of enoch. If you continue to speak to me friend we shall use the Holy Bible or we simply will not speak at all.
@TadCornell Friend he chose a people. The Hebrews who would keep his word and his commandments and through out their history it was promised that in them the whole world would be blessed. Gen. 12:1-3 A people ordained to carry the promise until the covenant is fulfilled. Christ from the tribe of Judah of the line of Jesse. The prophets said in his name the gentiles would come to trust. In revelation the word would be preached in all nations. All who believe are his church.
@BrotherMichael1000 wait, wait, wait. You say that all who believe in him are part of his church. Well, we believe in Christ. So... why are you doing this?
@TadCornell You don't believe Christ is the "only" begotten Son of God. He is one part of the trinity(GodHead) Three personages one substance. The true and everlasting God. Your faith believes there are many gods there is only one God. He is creator of all things. In him nothing was made that exists today.
@BrotherMichael1000 We believe Jesus Christ, God, and the Holy Ghost are separate beings. We don't believe in "multiple" gods. They are "one" god according to your description, but for us they are "one" in purpose. Jesus IS the only begotten son of God. That is why he sent him to us, so that we can find peace and happiness through him. I have one question to you; if you say they are one, then who was Jesus Christ praying to, and calling to as "father"? why would he look above? if he was there?
@mormondefender26 I know who he was praying to God the father. Don't be foolish friend. Three personages one substance. Christ is in the father and the father is in him. They are triune. The three are one not just in purpose but in substance. Christ did not come to bring peace. Matthew 10:34
@BrotherMichael1000 Ok, so they are all the same you're saying? Acts 7:55 says "But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfast into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God".
@TadCornell Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion .... The original Hebrew word was Elohim- a uniplural noun that when used in conjunction with a verb was used exclusively for God. Notice Elohim said let us make man in our image, after our likeness. God spoke in plural but is one. You are made in his image and are triune spirit, mind, body. Three personages one substance.
This one video out performs a hundred anti-mormon videos. The true stories of inspiration and struggle by the prophets in the book of Mormon outweight all the small minded negative comments made by people with more of a spiritual shallowness to thier beings.
This is a load of crap. The book of mormon has never lead to one archaeological find in the new world. Not one find. The only book ever made by God is his inerrant word the Holy Bible. The old and new testaments.
In the Mar/Apr 2007 issue of Biblical Archaeology Review, Hershal Shanks interviewed 4 leading biblical scholars:
Bart D. Ehrman, a leading expert on the apocryphal gospels. He was an evangelical until his scholarship led him to find contradictions & discrepancies in the Bible. He shifted to a fairly libral Protestant church. He later lost all faith because of theodicy.
Lawrence H. Schiffman, prominant Dead Sea Schroll scholar & Orthodox Jew.
@GaryKColeman No where did I use the term literal to describe the entire bible. The bible has prophecies that use poetics to describe certain events. Then there are historical instances that are termed literal. The bible is a mixture of these two elements. It takes reading scripture in "context" to know which is which. The scripture is inerrant. Inerrancy def. Freedom from error or untruths; infallibility All four scholars are guilty of not viewing scripture in context.
You are right. You never used "the term literal to describe the entire Bible."
It is my understanding that many Christians believe that the prophets wrote down the words of God as He spoke to them. Hence, the Bible is the "literal word of God," meaning that each word literally came from God, and since God is infallible, so are His words. That is how I used the term.
@GaryKColeman While you think yourself witty. You clearly aren't. Inerrant- 1. Incapable of erring; infallible. 2. Containing no errors. Do not attempt to bring this issue up again the question is answered. You asked which verse is the truth. When two or three witnesses agree then the truth is established. John 1:18 will answer the matter.
Gen 32:30 "And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved."
Both Jacob & Moses claimed to see God "face to face" and lived, but Moses then contradicts himself 9 verses later, saying that "no man" can see God & live.
Contradictions are errors which means the Bible is not "infallible."
2- "When two or three witnesses agree then the truth is established."
I gave you four witnesses. World renowned scholars who have spent decades studing and teaching the scriptures. Men who are leaders in their fields. They testify that the Bible is not "infallible." The "truth" is established.
@GaryKColeman Coleman get serious. Whom did Moses see? Whom did Moses write of? John 5:45-46 As to you and those scholars of yours 2 Timothy 3:1-8 Indeed the truth is established in Christ Jesus who is the ultimate authority. He is the author and finisher of the faith not your false apostate teachers.
I will repeat my previous statement: Jacob & Moses saw God face to face and lived. 9 verses later, Moses reported that God said no man (that includes Moses & Jacob) can see His face and live. God doesn't lie or He would cease to be God, so 2 of His prophets lied about seeing Him. God kept them as prophets. He didn't even chastise them for lying.
No matter how you try to spin it the scriptures contradict each other, & that is an ERROR.
@GaryKColeman . The only error is in you. You have never read John 8 52-59 and John 14:8-11. Don't you get it yet? Who was Jacob seeing and who was Moses seeing? Whom did Moses write about? God redeemed his people multiple times. It was all a foreshadow of things to come. All the scripture points in one direction friend. The Cross. The very thing you can't look at and the very thing that convicts you now. You can't escape him and you can't live without him.
The following statements are from Non-Mormon sources:
Gerhard Kittel, Theological Dictionary of the New Testament--"The New Testament does not actually speak of triunity. We seek this in vain in the triadic formulae of the NT."
William J. Hill, The Three-Personed God: The Trinity as a Mystery of Salvation--"The New Testament itself is far from any doctrine of the Trinity or of a Triune God who is three coequal Persons of One Nature."
2- Ernest F. Scott in An Encyclopedia of Religion--"In the NT there is no direct suggestion of a doctrine of the Trinity."
Harper's Bible Dictionary--"The formal doctrine of the Trinity as it was defined by the great church councils of the 4th & 5th centuries is not to be found in the NT."
The New Encyclopedia Britannica--"Neither the word 'Trinity' nor the explicit doctrine appears in the New Testament."
3- Bernhard Lohse, A Short History of Christian Doctrine--"As far as the New Testament is concerned, one does not find in it an actual doctrine of the Trinity."
The New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology--"The New Testament does not contain the developed doctrine of the Trinity."
Many say that Mormons are not Christian because they do not believe in this NON-biblical creed. Any church teaching such a non-biblical doctrine is a cult.
@GaryKColeman John 14:8-11 (again) Then goto John 14:16-26 Then goto John 15:1-8 Those scriptures identify three personages. Jesus says himself that he is in the Father and the Father is in the Son and the Holy Spirit testifies of them both. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth. My goodness that is a trinity and all these learned (cough term used loosely) men missed it? Oh my surely not!
The "learned" men haven't missed anything. The Nicene doctrine of the trinity is not found in the NT. Nothing about the Father & the Son being of the same essence and the same substance.
"Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds..." If Jesus is the "Father," then He is "begotten" of Himself.
The "learned" men have impressive credentials. What credentials do you have?
2- Would you explain John 17:21-23 where Christ is asking the Father to protect the Apostles from evil "That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us...that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me. That they may be made perfect in one..."
Did Jesus want the Apostles to become one substance with Him & the Father? Were the Apostles morphed into the one God?
@GaryKColeman That is a foolish imagination friend. Ephesians 2:14-18 For through Christ the wall of partition that once separated us from the Father is broken down. We are made new men. Not gods as your sect claims. The scripture is adamant. You pitch your tent with them whom are anathema.
I quoted some scriptures & asked you to explain their meaning. You reference some other scriptures but do not explain your understanding of them, so I give my own interpretation. Now you say No, no, that is wrong & want me to watch some video. Not going to happen.
I want to hear from you concerning John 17:21-23. What did Jesus mean "that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me. That they may be made perfect in one..."???
@GaryKColeman You ask what does John 17:23 mean I have given you several scriptures to explain here is one more Romans 12:5 So we, being many are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Here is you a verse interpret it John 8:23 And he(Christ) said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above; ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
@GaryKColeman Luke 18:10-14 You must repent. John3:10-21 These scriptures speak to the truth. No man can be saved if he will not confess his sins and repent of them and believe in Jesus Christ. There is a baptism but that is by the Holy Spirit. Men Baptize with water but Christ Baptizes with the Holy Ghost. If you cannot believe this then you like all unbelieving men are condemned already.
@GaryKColeman There are two resurrections. The first Revelation 20:4-6 is the resurrection of those who have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. Who believed in his word and his light. They shall be his possession forever and be priests and kings to him through out eternity. The second resurrection Revelation 20:11-15 is that of the wicked dead. Who had no testimony in Christ and they shall be judged at the Great white Throne judgment according to their works.
What about the billions of people who never heard of Jesus Christ and therefore could not believe "in his word and his light," but neither could they reject Him? Does the Savior's redeeming grace extend to them or will they be counted with "the wicked dead" and be judged according to their works?
@GaryKColeman I didn't cite them. I expected you to read them. You claim to have a bible use it. No those scriptures do not have multiple interpretations. Romans 1:19-23 Tells of the Revelation of the world guilty and the wrath of God. The apostasy of the Gentile world. Rom 1:21 Because that when they knew God, they glorified him not as God neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. All are without excuse Gary.
Jesus Christ is the only name by which man may be saved. Yet, your God condemns billions to hell because they never heard of Jesus Christ & for the sins of their ancestors for not teaching them.
I reject your uncaring, unloving, unjust God. He sends more of His human creations to hell than He allows into Heaven. I do this of my own free will & choice. In your hell, I will be with those who never had choice to ACCEPT or REJECT the Son of God the Father.
@BrotherMichael1000 The LDS church does not fight God. You've not yet clearly answer the question. I will not force you to subscribe to our beliefs, but I will not have you halt it's progress with lies. although you don't believe this book, here 2Nephi 29:7 "Know ye not that there are more nations than one? Know ye nott that I, the Lord your God, created all men, and that I remember those who are upon the isles of the sea; and that I rule in the heavens above and in the earth beneath; and I
I am only rejecting your vengeful, hatefilled God. The one who sends billions to hell because they never accepted a Jesus Christ they never heard of.
I believe in the loving God who "so LOVED the world, that He give His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to CONDEMN the world; but that the world through Him might be SAVED.
@GaryKColeman Also one other note Christ's parables also are forms of poetics used to illustrate spiritual and moral truths. Further Christ used one instance of a poetic when he said if "your eye offend the pluck it out and if your hand offend thee cut it off" Do you honestly think Christ was being literal when he made this statement or was he using poetics to illustrate a spiritual and moral point? I do believe you sir have made a grievous error in your wording.
2- James F. Strange, leading archaeologist & Baptist minister. He has kept his faith in spite of his scholarship.
William G. Dever, one of America's best known & most widely quoted archaeologists. He was an ordained evangelical minister at age 17. He has 2 theological degrees. Because of his Bible studies, he lost his faith & became a Reform Jew, but now considers himself agnostic.
ALL 4 scholars agree that the Bible is NOT the inerrant & literal word of God.
Sanders has been keeping the book locked up in a safe at his Salt Lake City store while he looks for a buyer. He said the 1831 edition of the Bible was originally purchased by Joseph Smith Jr. when the family lived in Kirtland, Ohio. It's been out of sight for many years, apparently cherished for generations by descendants of Emma Hale Smith. In 1979, the Smith family sold it to a friendly outsider, Buddy Youngreen. He published photos of it in the LDS "Ensign" magazine in 1984...
.... and they had taken their horses, and their chariots, and their cattle, and all their flocks, and their herds, and their grain, and all their substance, and did march forth by thousands and by tens of thousands, until they had all gone forth to the place which had been appointed that they should gather themselves together, to defend themselves against their enemies.
One of the greatest experiences for Brother and Sister Wixom was when he was called to preside over the Washington D.C. South Mission from 2006-09. As they served with more than 400 missionaries over three years of service, they learned how to serve side by side every day.
"We became the closest ever during that period," said Brother Wixom. "It was so unifying.
"We had watched our parents sacrifice for the gospel, so it was never a question to accept a calling," Sister Wixom said. "I felt blessed. It was the people in my life, truly the people in my life, who have guided me on that path."
"This earth life is a path and when we follow the teachings of Jesus Christ we stay on that path and we will find happiness," said Sister Wixom. "It is a path of happiness, not to happiness, but a path of happiness on the journey."
Even though Rosemary Mix Wixom looks, sounds and oftentimes acts identical to her twin sister, Roseann, she has a personal knowledge of her individual identity as a daughter of God. It is that divine identity that brings joy and gives a sure footing on the path of life, she said.
"In my pocket I have three things," said President Uchtdorf, showing them to the congregation. The first was a card with the Articles of Faith on one side and a picture of the Savior on the other. The second item was his temple recommend.
President Uchtdorf's message to members in Hong Kong was similar to his address in Taiwan. He reiterated the importance of having a strong testimony of Jesus Christ, living the gospel, being good parents and paying a full tithe.
Elder Scott then addressed family leadership. Describing the unity of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and the decision making process, Elder Scott told of how decisions are not made until all agree. He likened this process, used by the Quorum of the Twelve to decide Church issues, to the process that should occur when a husband and wife are making decisions.
"Change what needs to change," Elder Scott said, asking members to prayerfully consider gospel principles and how Church members can be consistent with Latter-day Saint teachings.
The claims of mormonism are so far fetched that they should be unbelievable. There is absolutely no archeological evidence of ancient american cities that are cited in the book of mormon. The animals that at mentioned are not in the fossil record. And we as humans will never become gods and have our own planet to inhabit and populate with our many wives. I am praying that those who have been decieved by satan into entering into this occult would come to know the real Savior!!!

@omiolo There are 16 animals and animal products mentioned in the Book of Mormon Ass Bull Calf Cattle Cow Butter Elephants Milk Flocks Goat (The Nephites claimed to have found the domestic goat.) Herds Horse (The horse plays a major role in the Nephite and Lamanite societies.) Ox Sheep (This was a major animal in the Book of Mormon.) Sow Swine where's the evidence of these animals having existed on the american continent ?
7 Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots.
9 And they said unto him: Behold, he is feeding thy horses. Now the king had commanded his servants, previous to the time of the watering of their flocks, that they should prepare his horses and chariots, and conduct him forth to the land of Nephi; for there had been a great feast appointed at the land of Nephi, by the father of Lamoni, who was king over all the land.
@omiolo2 Ne. 12: 7 Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots.
@omioloAlma 18: 12 And it came to pass that when Ammon had made ready the horses and the chariots for the king and his servants, he went in unto the king, and he saw that the countenance of the king was changed; therefore he was about to return out of his presence.
Alma 20: 6
Now when Lamoni had heard this he caused that his servants should make ready his horses and his chariots.
.... and they had taken their horses, and their chariots, and their cattle, and all their flocks, and their herds, and their grain, and all their substance, and did march forth by thousands and by tens of thousands, until they had all gone forth to the place which had been appointed that they should gather themselves together, to defend themselves against their enemies.
@omiolo Are there no horses mentioned in your Book of Mormon ?
Your not paying attention to what god told you was correct.
There are horses mentioned , fact.
There are no horse found to have existed in pre-Columbian times on the American continent. Certainly not to the extent that the Book of Mormon talks about.
@omiolo You have not offered any evidence re: the animals mentioned but not found in your heavenly sent Book of Mormon. Not one.
Nice side step. " your types"
Now you bear your testiphoney then call me antimormon this does not change the fact that the evidence not there, none found, bankrupt of scientific evidence and propped only by a good feeling that god tells you it's true.
@wwherndon Dixon Woodbury, a BYU professor of physiology and developmental biology, said he views the counsel to pray over his "flocks and herds" a bit differently as a scientist.
"I've come to understand there's nothing wrong, and it's actually appropriate for me to pray over my experiments, that I will have insight and wisdom in directing them appropriately and interpreting the results correctly," he said. "It's a little different, but still appropriate to ask for the Lord's help in that."
It all sounds good but like my Grandfather used to say "If it's too good to be true, it probably is" I have Morman friends and we respect each others beliefs, as long as it stays like that we are cool. There are alot of good people outside your of your Mormon church, not all of us are Godless heathen.
Yes, Our paths are alittle straighter a bit more narrower but atleast each day is brighter and we are alittle more happier than than everyone else dispite the WORLDS view of US . We take the commandments more seriously than others
and we know were we stand with God personlly its called personal revalation
"The honest in heart, who feel that the true Kingdom of God ought to have special and powerful credentials, and not just be another voice in the crowd, will not go away disappointed from an examination of the claims and evidences of the Book of Mormon." -Hugh W. Nibley
Its a lot easier than discovery; it prompts no one to action; it keeps one in ignorance; it may stifle one's progress; it lacks any actual thought; it helps a person refrain from any pleasant feelings;
Deny it all, folks! That's the name of the game. Besides, if someone joins this Mormon church, I hear that they have to walk this straight and narrow and we all know that walking uprightly before God is not possible.

GaryKColeman 3 weeks ago

BrotherMichael1000 3 weeks ago
@BrotherMichael1000

That they may be made perfect in one..."

What must a person do to be saved? Is baptism a necessary requirement for salvation?
GaryKColeman 2 weeks ago
@GaryKColeman Luke 18:10-14 You must repent. John3:10-21 These scriptures speak to the truth. No man can be saved if he will not confess his sins and repent of them and believe in Jesus Christ. There is a baptism but that is by the Holy Spirit. Men Baptize with water but Christ Baptizes with the Holy Ghost. If you cannot believe this then you like all unbelieving men are condemned already.

Will all mankind be resurrected or only those who accept Jesus as their God and King?
GaryKColeman 1 week ago
@GaryKColeman There are two resurrections. The first Revelation 20:4-6 is the resurrection of those who have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. Who believed in his word and his light. They shall be his possession forever and be priests and kings to him through out eternity. The second resurrection Revelation 20:11-15 is that of the wicked dead. Who had no testimony in Christ and they shall be judged at the Great white Throne judgment according to their works.

Again, you cite scriptures which are open to several interpretations but offer nothing as to what you think they mean.
The question is: will the billions who never heard of Jesus Christ be condemned to hell because they didn't accept a Savior they didn't know existed?
The answer is either "Yes" or "No." It doesn't seem to be that difficult.
GaryKColeman 1 week ago

One of the greatest experiences for Brother and Sister Wixom was when he was called to preside over the Washington D.C. South Mission from 2006-09. As they served with more than 400 missionaries over three years of service, they learned how to serve side by side every day.
