  • From what I've heard of Biber's works so far, namely his masses, Requiem, sonatas, Battaglia and the partitas on your channel, I draw that his music has never a shade of pessimism or despair. I also believe him to be the last composer of sensible church music, even Vivaldi's masses sound totally like a concert, Bach's Mass is... well, he was a Lutheran after all, and Mozart's Requem is as far from being one musically as I can imagine. I suspect I oversimplify and stray away from just saying wow.
