  • These bands play good even though no 1 barely speaks this language norway has under 10 million people. 1 thing you guys all have to respect is that rock music in general Is AMERICAN! Pay homage to the originators of the music

  • You got very good taste bro! :)

  • whats the song with the chicken im trying to find that one

  • Må bare elske de sangene av Storm, da!

  • This is AMAZNG. I love it so hard D: Thank you for educating me in the fact that Norwegian heavy metal is totally kick-ass.

  • what is the song at 5:26 ?

  • scandanavian metal is awesome!!! i cant believe ive been listening to american metal thinking that it was really good! this stuff blows almost all those bands out of the water! i cant believe ive never listened to this stuff before!! theres so much more raw talent, soul, and meaning in this music

  • i dont know why but norwegian metal just seems to bring out that primal side in me

  • some one can make the track list please all songs are awesome

  • wow what book are these engravings out of, awesome pictures

  • I wanna move to Norway when I get older, I live in America but my parents and other family members are Norwegian :D

  • Do you understand norwegian then?

  • Vikinge eier i alt! :p Også i metal! =)

    -I-

  • what is this version of windir - blodssvik?

  • I'm learning norsk:P It's beautiful language! And of course I listen to norwegian metal:P It's great connection:)

  • and to answer your question i lived here since i was born and have never met a swede over the age of 10 that cant talk english

  • scandanavia is the god land of metal

    american=FAIL

    britain=FAIL

    every where =FAIL

  • in my opinion no

  • I'd disagree... I've found some good bands from the British Isles and elsewhere.

    IRELAND- Primordial, Mael Mórdha, Cruachan.

USA- Agalloch (one of my favorites),

Mainland Europe- Eluveitie (Swizterland), Finsterforst (Germany), Folkearth (originally Lithuania), Heidevolk (Netherlands), Sael (France), Suidakra (Germany), Summoning (Austria).

While I certainly wouldn't argue against Scandinavia and Finland having the majority of good metal, you should avoid generalizations - you might miss out.

  • ireland dont kid yourself same with britain

and america is a joke metal there doesnt have the feeling scandinavian or mainland european metal does.

  • I agree regarding american metal, it always feels fake or cheap to me sort of. Like it has no soul.

Personally i prefer scandinavian, finnish and german metal bands, tho some others can be good aswell, like alestorm, even tho it doesnt come near scandinavian metal.

  • @Vikingskog Lol, is norway cool? i hate it here in america, i wanna b closer to my metal brethren, haha. but as far as american metal goes yea i agree, pretty bad, metallica was good until master of puppets, now its just generic crap

  • Did you even bother to listen to any of the bands I listed? The US does is lacking in good metal, but I can recount many mystical journeys through winter landscapes that are recreated musically in the melodies of Agalloch.

Perhaps one reason for them having a different feeling is that they come from different backgrounds/cultures? For instance, Cruachan.

  • @boondocks128 Not at all biased are you... :)

  • @boondocks128 Each country has things they seem to be best at. America is best at stealing things xD [said half humorously].

Scandinavia is fucking music central. Here in Britain, there's more violence, so we tend to play more "violent, thumping metal".

I'm off to Norway next year some time, if I make good friends and finally find myself a decent band over there, I'm gonna stay.

  • @boondocks128 your spelling = FAIL Scandinavia is With BIg "S" Metal with big "M" and u should rather say The Vallhalla of Rock if you're living in norway that is

  • @boondocks128 metal started in britain i thin u mean black metal which its from norway

  • @boondocks128 metal started in britain i thin you mean black metal which its from norway

  • Jeg foreslår Eternity og Nidingr, av norsk black metal er vel Mayhem favoritten, men du høres ut som like mest folke inspirert metal så sjekk ut de to banda. Har dem på channelen min.

  • Har du no peiling på hvilken historie De To Spellemenn er basert på?:) var vel en Dansk folke historie eller no ifølge Trollskau skiva.

  • helvettes tulling idiot voldtektsoffer:3<3 evenpusen min<333
