@oncelosthorizon Can you recommend me some good bands like these guys?
I already listen to mainstream melodic death metal(In Flames, DT etc), what I am particularly looking for is old school melodic death metal like Gates of Ishtar, Ceremonial Oath etc.
@hellraidzor Well old school would basically be ATG, DT, IF, EU, Carcass, and old Arch Enemy(both CA and AE were the Amott brothers. go figure) lol they are basically the founders of the entire melodeath genre. I cant think of any other '95 to '97 year bands that i could put up here as good old school melodeath though. but yea those 6 bands i just named pretty much capture the entire realm of melodeath so spawn off those and see if you find any you like.
@hellraidzor Don't know how I didn't see this comment til now. Honestly, I wish I could find more less-known melodic dm bands, I'd recommend Edge of Sanity (not just the famous "Crimson" albums- also check out "Infernal" or "The Spectral Sorrows") or Ribspreader, which is pretty brutal but definitely is melodic at times. The latter sounds like a cross between Edge of Sanity and Bloodbath, which probably has to do with the fact that Swano produced some of their stuff.
@oncelosthorizon Hey man, it took long enough for me to reply as well. Sorry for that :) I am a big fan of Edge of Sanity and Sacrilege. Dan Swano is genius, if you havent listened to his solo album - Moontower I highly recommend that masterpiece. I dont exactly remember but, Sacrilege was affiliated with In Flames in some way, that is why it sounds familiar and awesome.
@cmc47834 oh god, I will not. I used to listen to Children of Bodom when I was first introduced to metal. I used to like them back then, about 8 years ago but then I guess I grew up and they sound really shitty now. Thanks for the advice though.

Check my channel, I made a cover of the solo. Also in the process of finishing up the tabs for you all, they'll be up soon.

Maybe the greatest melodic death metal song. The solo is beyond awesome, feels like it does not belong to this world.

@hellraidzor Absolutely agreed! Mirrorworlds is one of my all-time favorite albums.

@hellraidzor Children Of Bodom has their melodic moments. Listen from their Something Wild cd up to Follow the Reaper
