  • I'm serious, as soon as you start walking on one of these you feel like an instant boss. Get to the end of it, lose several km/ph from your walking speed, instant depression.

These things made me start cutting again.

  • I would rum as fast as I could. It would be awsome.....

  • If you had more of those acceleration rollers, you could make it a viable public transport alternative.

  • I remember going on one of these a few years back. It made me feel invincible.

  • We have one that goes 300 Kms/h.

People get on it, but they don't know if they'll be able to stop at the end

  • There is nothing new here.

See Moving sidewalk Paris Expo 1900 Edison on youtube.

  • fuck me...thats soo fast !

  • what a waste of energy

  • Damn speedhackers.

  • These walkways were made to make u run 3 times faster, just run on it, and ppl would be like there he goez! xD

  • i still can't believe ive walked through there so many times! this one time, i even had to run to catch the last train! lol

i use to live in paris, i miss it very much. :-/

  • Still waiting for the "high speed"...

  • fucking advert

  • @Tomseb11

youtube is a free service - you dont pay to watch their films, and I dont pay to uplift films.

So the occasional advert is not so terrible.

  • @citytransportinfo It is if you have slow internet

  • @citytransportinfo I would rather pay than see ads.

  • 0:33 he cut you off

  • americans are fat because we have more money, thus leading to buying more food and then gluttony and sloth

  • @saska291 wrong

  • Just image how fast we could go if these were put into series - a second one going at 18 km/hr, etc

  • Why did they slow it down why not attach people to velcro ropes lol hahaha

  • i want to moon walk.

    now!

  • @TosXMellow wait a few years and you can. The US already has space-capable aircraft (Gary McKinnon found the evidence when he hacked into NASA and the US Military in 2002) and it is reputed that there are people living there in some luna craters.

  • @citytransportinfo epic.

been my dream to be part of the space station.

Astronomy has been my best subject. =))

  • i'd probably fall and laugh my ass off :D:D

  • I... CAN'T WALK... 2.5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • we have thoose in sweden aswell :D

  • I hate when you get off at an airport and you get the lazy fucks that get on these things and dont walk and they block everyone behind them from getting there quickly -.-

  • Eh, there wernt half as many fat people years ago. Have we suddenly become intolerent to some food types. I have never met a fat person who didn't eat alot!

  • thats not very fast

  • A better design (proposed 100 years ago!) is to have several parallel tracks, each faster than the previous. It makes it easy to get on and off. The fastest track can move at 15mph, which is faster than the bus, or the subway once you add in the wait times. But apparently this great idea got spiked by the companies building subway cars. Kind of like how we still drive horrendously inefficient (and slow!!!) cars today, instead of enjoying high speed rail.

  • i fail to see how this is ''high speed'' cuz it dont look it to me,if a bunch of people fell over from that speed they must've all been intoxicated in some rediculous way

  • wat was da purpose .?????????? >:( uqh;;

  • @Minpin45 to get to your destination faster.

  • THATS WHY AMERICA IS FAT!

  • @twentieeight28 Because they go to Paris France and get on this?

  • @twentieeight28

No! People are fat because of intolerance to certain foods, such as wheat and milk, these make them unwell and gain weight.

    Simon

  • @citytransportinfo that just makes it the peoples fault,if they are intolerant they should have the intelligence to not continuously consume those things

  • @citytransportinfo your not serious... theres ALWAYS A WAY to get rid of fat and get good nutrients inside your body... you dont like milk? eat some cheese, you dont like meat then eat some peas that contain protein or eggs... and eventually... do SOME EXCERCISE! im sick of hearing that obesity is a disease, its just pure lazyness.

  • @citytransportinfo The weight gain of Americans perfectly tracks the ballooning caloric intake and slightly reduced levels of activity; nothing more is needed to explain it. Eat less, move more; it's that simple.

  • @citytransportinfo

    Oh purleeease!!!

  • @citytransportinfo and this

  • Comment removed

  • @citytransportinfo

    You retarded?

  • remember, the drug companies would go bust if everyone was healthy and did not need their products. So for them obese people are a marketing opportunity, not a social issue / problem.

I agree with those who say that people eat too much and of the wrong foods, and that people should walk about more, but this is not the whole story.

All you can eat restaurants and bigger portions as ways to entice people to eat there are also *partly* to blame for obesity.

  • @twentieeight28 This is in Paris you dumbass.

  • @twentieeight28 it's in paris... unless that is in America you'r right ;)

  • @twentieeight28 Yeah it totally is, this moving side walk in Paris France.....is why people in America is fat...

  • @twentieeight28 DUR. This is France. Also, note that people are walking on this walkway. Sometimes, people don't depend entirely on their own two feet because they're in a hurry.

  • @twentieeight28 considering this is in france or canada or some other french speaking country its got nothing to do with america so thin befor u speak

  • @twentieeight28 This is not in America

  • @twentieeight28 You are aware that this is in FRANCE, right? Jeez.

  • @twentieeight28 this is not in America, o great intelligent foreigner. Did you actually read the description?

  • @twentieeight28 this is in france....

  • @twentieeight28 Americans are fat because we've grown ever so gradually accustomed to processed foods.

They had this at the Denver Airport, but not sure how fast it went. In the description, it said there was ' no special feeling' to using these but I beg to differ, or maybe I just had an equilibrium issue, bc' I DID notice an odd unsteadiness about walking it.

Either way, these are great for high traffic area's like airports; I had never seen this before last spring.

  • @twentieeight28 ...thats not in america you fucking DUMBASS

  • Comment removed

  • @twentieeight28

This is in PARIS. It has nothing to do with Americans.

  • @twentieeight28 thats france.

  • Marik: "Foolish FOOL!"

  • bhahaha ppl fell over on 7.5 mph so they reduced the speed lmao wat a bunch of idiots

  • hahah i love those things they so funny lol

  • I've been there!!!!!!

    ~*~ Minneapolis Girl ~*~

  • i am always the one that runs on it the wrong way for fun =D

  • good free treadmill eh? i only get to do it like once every four years in the airport

  • now thats what i call F'in lazy..

  • I know feeling like superman is ftw

  • Hey! Dumbass! STAND ON THE RIGHT, WALK ON THE LEFT.

  • @letmein71 you do realise that in france it's stand on the left, pass on the right

  • you actually have rules for that......sad :o

  • Safety rules,

Make a LOT of sense - if you want to avoid an accident and possibly lose a finger trapped in the floor rollers.

    Simon

  • @letmein71 Hey, eurofag, walk on right stand on left!

  • "and here we are on the high speed moving walkway... If you look to your right - oh look! There goes Obama."

  • Lol!

  • I used to work at an international airport that had one. I loved running on it. I felt like superman. I felt like superman.

  • I also work on a n international airport. at which do ou work, and how many passengers do you have a year?

  • yeah i love these things.. 9 km=about 4.5 mph, man that's fast...wow....no wonder they decreased the speed and PLEASE PEOPLE SEE AND SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!

  • yay?

  • I remember back in 2001, one night I was sleeping, I had a dream where the escalator was super fast, like 100mph. If there was a escalator that fast in real life, then people would fall over. in fact this moving walkway is indeed fast enough.

  • Merci.

    Simon

  • I love those there are like 10 of them going to universal

  • what, there are 10 of these in the Universal studio in the USA?

  • Yea, in away there are different ways to get to different places. And Down each one there are maybe 2 in each hallway and there are like 4 or so hallways. Very fun.

  • i wanan buy one of those and just put it somewhere, then turn the speed really high and sit on it to see how fast we can go

  • good luck, you are welcome to try this.

But make sure you have plenty of money for possible medical treatment afterwards, as it would not be fair to ask state funded medical care systems to look after you if you are hurt.

Oh, and also, write your will before doing this. Just in case.

  • @citytransportinfo if the idea of some1 getting hurt on 1 of them things is an issue then why are they developed to even manage to go at a high or dangerous speed setting in the 1st place?

  • @citytransportinfo chill gosh :D:D

  • They have one in Toronto. But they spend millions of dollars and after years, they still cant get it to work. YYZ SUCKS!!!

  • Thanks - yes its at the airport and slightly different in how it works. I read about it on Wikipedia.

However I did not know that its so troublesome.

    Simon

  • lol,those things r fun XD

  • Oh yeah dude, why invent cars too? People should totally just walk. Idiot.

  • .......i live in las vegas my dad manager at hotel so i live in one. and i get cyberschooled. i go on those allot, and there are sum that go reallly fast

  • That's not fast...Gatwick airport's walkway (and I'm sure many other airports) is just as fast/faster than that!

  • are you sure????

Gatwick's walkways may *appear* to be as fast, but that does not mean they are.

    Simon

  • how fast in 9km i nly understand mph no km

  • me too!

9km/h is about 5.6mph. The original speed of 12km/h (which was deemed to be too fast, as people kept falling over) was about 7.5mph.

    Simon

  • 1mph is 1.16kph

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry to correct you martijnenco, but what citytransportinfo said is true.

    1mph is 1.609

Or did you mean 1.61kph? (which is just as right)

  • wtf this video is retarded. wats so facinating about riding on that?

  • trying running on one thats pulling toward u it so hard and tiring

  • haha next time your on one of those when you get to the end start sprinting as fast as you can, it's so hilarious

  • its not highspeed

  • this isnt that fascinating becuz i live in fl nd at every theme park they have those things.

  • i remember riding one of those in terminal C at logan in boston. it was fun. i didn't walk though. i just stood there while it took me

  • ha i rode the same one

  • welcome to civilization...where the hell have you guys been all these years?

  • vermont

  • it does suck that rollerboots are nto allowed in airports as they are handy for getting around big places and the staff are allowed them in big places but the public are not. THats not fair

  • its not pointless at all, its actually very practical. i was able to get to the next train in 2 minutes.

  • i don't know if they have them anymore but 'O Hare in Chicago used to have a bunch of those...seems like a waste of energy

  • i went on one of those there cool

  • i think its pretty pointless having that walkway. why have it there wasting energy

  • I would just lie down.

    nice vid

  • atleast walk faster AHAH

  • that would be fun to skate :D

  • indeed it might be!

  • just ollie up and lock in a nose or tail slide and ride all the way lol

  • lol yeah while stoned too :D

  • no way 4 miles pure hour!!! FREAKY SCARY!

  • someone definetly read the description

  • 4 mph is the equivelant to its kmh

  • When I was in Paris it was at 12KPH (7.5MPH) and it was CRAZY. This video does not do it justice. The reason it is so loud is because at the beginning there are a bunch of rollers to get you up to speed gradually. Those roller sections were really hard to get used to. Very hard to keep your balance.

  • It's how well-designed the transition zones are that make the thing feasible. Are there hand holds? It looks like there is a hand rail in the transition zone but as you accelerate wouldn't there have to be hand holds that accelerate at the same rate? I can't see how that would work. Good vid though! Thanks.

  • There are the moving handrails, as with any moving walkway / escalator.

Holding these is ESSENTIAL, and anyone who does not have at least one free hand to do this is prohibited from the walkway.

The moving hand rail is the key to how it works. At each end of the walkway the 'floor' is just a series of metal rollers, so without the moving hand holds the people would be going nowhere!

    simon

  • indeed it would... and everyone would be falling over / hurting themselves, breaking bones, and worse.

  • yeah it would be but it doesnt look like it so i dont know why they called it that. it should be called the slowest moving in the world lol

  • if it was high speed it would be gooing like 60 miles per hour up a moterway

  • it appears to be quite noisy!

  • lots of announcements advising people how to use the walkway in safety.

  • Heh, in singapore airport they have dozens of these, but slower, but it's fun to run down then at full boar, then as you hit the end you get thrown because you go from a moving ground to a stationary ground.

  • lots of airports and other places have moving walkways - but this one is slightly different in that it goes a little more quickly than most others.

    Simon

  • I don't get it. Why is there so much safety precautions there?

  • because its experimental and there had been many accidents - despite just being a moving walkway it seems that because of the speed many people could not cope with the acceleration & decceleration zones & were falling over.

    Simon

  • That's so badass though, I wanna have those on every single street/place I go to NAO!!

  • NAO NAO NAO

  • What is NAO?

  • like now. just typed cooler means srs bsnz

  • yes I'd like there to be more of these too, but maybe not quite 'everywhere'!

  • when i went to europe the main highlight of my tube journey was to go on these :D

    i miss them :'(

  • i think 9 kph for an escalator is FAST! i usually run on my treadmill at 8.5 and maximum of 12 to 15.its fast! i would like to ry it...damn it.why didn't i know that when i was in paris!

  • that didn't seem every fast

  • I know. But apparently for an escalator it is fast.

    Simon

  • lol i go on that one quite alot from trips and theirs no preoblem its only the start and the end no point in standing still the hole way might aswell walk.....

  • hello

  • This reminds me: why didn't they use instead this cute idea of large rectangular tiles moving at an angle BUT starting and ending at the right angle. It's a bit hard to explain without pictures but the result is slow start and end with accelerations taking care of themselves (no need to have the handrail pull or push you, no need for any rollers).

  • I think it is a message telling people to stand still / keep their feet on the ground at the entry and exit points.

See the note in the main text about the acceleration / deceleration zones where the 'ground' is a series of metal rollers.

  • wow, that's really interesting, I would love to ride on that =) I have to ask though, what is that verse that keeps repeating over and over in the background?

  • "Gardez des pieds" (Mind your feet)

  • Actually the message is "Gardez les pieds à plat" (keep your feet flat), there is also a feminine voice saying "Tenez la rampe" (hold the rail).

    Unfortunately this walkway rarely works...
