HUSS war und ist immer noch der beste Karussellbauer der Welt. Nur schade, daß diese nunmehr nicht mehr solche Fahrgeschäfte bauen. Jeder Schausteller muß heutzutage auf das Geld und die Ausgaben achten. Daher sind solche HUSS Karusselle in Deutschland seltenst und nur noch in Parks zu fahren. Als Reiseanlage nicht mehr. Auch sind von HUSS der Jump, aber verkauft und der einzige Mega Dance, jetzt Hahnsteins Devil Rock. Aber sonst ist HUSS der Mercedes der Karussellbauer.

We have that ride here at Six Flags La Ronde in Montreal, but it's called "Le Condor". The operating is a bit different as it dosen't go in reverse, the riding time is lower and it dosen't spin when near the ground.

honestly as someone that works in the industry here in the USA, that is a very nice Condor ride. I have been on one that quick once b4 and it was intense, here in the USA they dont normally run them as fast. The light package on this thing is great lights going up the tower and in the middle of the wheels, and the strobes kick butt. I would love to get my hands on that control panel for a couple hours. Thanks for the video great job, and a kick a** ride. GO HUSS

It's true the Ikarus was not the most thrilling ride, but it was an eyecachter because of its size and lightning nonetheless. However, it has not been to a fairground in over 2 years. I don't know the exact whereabouts of this ride, but it's probably put in storage somewhere in Germany. I don't think it'll come back in the following 5 years or so.

Helaas reist deze attractie sinds een jaartje niet meer rond. Ik geloof dat deze opgeslagen is in de loods van de eigenaar.

Ritprijs was ongeveer 3 euro. Je kon ook een mooie keycord/sleutelhanger van goede kwaliteit kopen als souvenir voor een paar euro.

De Ikarus is geen nieuwe attractie. Deze werd begin jaren '80 gebouwd en was ook populair tot ergens rond 1994. Het is sinds de laatste 2 jaren ofzo dat exploitanten opnieuw de klassiekers opkomen en er mee op reis gaan. Soms vallen ze in de smaak, soms niet. De Ikarus staat helaas inmiddels in een loods en reist dus niet meer. In Tilburg staan wel 'aparte' dingen die in Duitsland reizen, maar dan kan je beter zelf naar Duitsland gaan want Tilburg is gewoon belachelijk duur.

Well, you can't ride this particular ride anymore. The Ikarus has been put into storage since the end of last year. But there are other rides that are identical, even in the USA.

It was put in storage probably because the ride didn't do many funfairs (mostly in Holland, due personal reasons very little in his own country Germany) and is pretty expensive to maintain. Also the ride didn't attract many customers.

Well, it is exactly the same ride. The Ikarus as well as the ride in Slagharen were made by the German manufacturer 'Huss'. In the late 80's there was another ride like this travelling the funfairs in the Netherlands. It was called 'Condor'.

That's why they call it a "family ride". ;) It's not a thrill ride. And honestly, I've done it and it's very relaxing. Plus it gives a nice view over the whole fairground. The spinning around can make you dizzy, which is fun also.

There's no DJ with this ride. It's just minidiscs or CD's being played. The 'odd' sounds in between are jingles.

Haha, those are called jingles: short sound samples to add something to the show. It can go from "Attentioooooon!" for the beginning of a cycle to anything else that is programmed. By pressing the butting rapidly you get these "weird" sounds like: "Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-halleluj­ah". :)

Yeah, I learned what they were not too long ago. There are not too many rides with Jingles here in the U.S. I have heard a few now, with the likes of the "Woo-Hoo!" and "Energy!!"... alot of them seem to be clips from songs. One thing we do have on the Condor in my videos, is 2 sounds on a programmed to two buttons, one for when the ride is going up, one for down. They both make a accending and decending noise for the appropriate button, that sounds just like a spaceship.
