  • FAKE! Everyone knows Darth Vader doesn't run!

  • Using private API, I guess?

  • any demo of this? :O

  • this is just the beginning, augmented reality is going to be the new standard.

  • yeah, its getting popular, cant wait for some glasess,,,

it seem like the future is getting here finally.

  • I'm freakin' out, man.

  • super troopers..

  • Quit trolling, obvious troll.

  • cooooool

  • holy crap!!

  • Now witness the firepower of this fully operational telephone device!

  • Never underestimate the POWER of the dark side! ... ie Apple.

  • (Y)

  • wow!

  • Fucking awesome! Just another reason the iPhone is the best damn phone out there!

  • that is ridiculously cool

  • god dammit like there weren't enough reasons for an iphone already.

  • Where a i can download app?? In cydia?? Please source on cydia thanks

  • Holy mamma. Insanely ubercool

  • The app store isn't your only option you can still use cydia. You just need to add it to a repo. Try contacting dev team

  • i just came

  • It's incredible that the iPhone can handle such visual-real-world recognition.

I wish I could do this on my home PC's webcam, to put 3D things in my room, without markers.

  • Put this app in Cydia if you can't put it in the app store.

  • excellent work!

  • cool

  • yes.. it's quite fail.. xD

  • there are mms.

  • Amazing!

  • source ... pleeeeeease :)

  • Whoooooa!

  • when it'll be relased?

  • OH MY F&%& GOD!!!

  • awesomeness!

  • Living the dream :). Looks fantastic. It must have been lots of work adopting it. Does it still run in two threads? It looks like the number of points is reduced, but the tracking is still very stable. Well done. Is it going to be featured at ISMAR this year as well?

  • Cool!!

Hope it available at app store

  • LOL OF LOL HAHA its great¡ im amazed

  • Gets me excited seeing this stuff amazing..nice one thanks for upping !

  • We draw ever closer to wearable augmented reality. Great work guys, keep it up.

  • maybe an android one? I think they don't have such restrictions for the cam, but maybe I am wrong. anyway this is the thing I am waiting for to start programming on mobiles...

  • i can't see why Google's Android would be restrictive of anything, it's open source isn't it?

  • this is the best!

  • Excelent excelent work. Probably the best markerless tracking Ive seen on a portable device by quite a large margin.

I loved the demo on the train, but on an iPhone this is even more incredible.

Cant understand why Apple are so restrictive with the camera :-/

  • Re App store: You're unlikely to see AR apps on the store any time soon, since the camera API is officially off-limits.

Re library: Since it can't be released on the app store, this would probably fall foul of apple's developer NDA. And anyway it's not even close to ready for release yet!

    Regards

    GK

  • Even though it can't be AppStore, this would be amazing for research and internal applications. I second the plea for releasing a library! If you need testers or iphone-specific coding help, I and probably several others at my institution would love to help :) private beta, perhaps?

  • same here... would love to see your code and play with this...

  • @activevision well, there already are some AR apps and I will name the ones I know. ARdefender and Virtual Santa. I think these use ARToolkit and not PTAM but still... AR is already here but for some reason it didn't get the attention I would have loved it to have.

  • I can't believe it....

    It's Great!!

  • Excellent work. Are you intending to release this as a library that iPhone developers can use?

  • very very cool. museums would love this kind of thing, not mention marketers and lots of others.

  • That's awesome work! Put it in the app store and you'll make a ton of money :)

  • looks stunning

  • Cool stuff, Georg ... good work!

  • Great!!!!

  • wow! awesome... would love to play with this.
