People should start making travel arrangements instead of watching old outdated American clips. There are lots of countries today where pantyhose would be considered mainstream.
Pantyhose companies' sales dropped with their dropping the commercials. Now, they're trying to find something pleasing to "the herd" that most women unfortunately follow. In the meantime, what wonderful memories, even though my audio and video were out of sync sometimes, those were wonderful memories. Thanks for sharing the power of pantyhose.
@abcs99 Women in foreign countries do wear pantyhose. In some countries pantyhose are mainstream and you can see women wear pantyhose all day long. You may just need a passport. A time machine may not be necessary.
3 of my all time faves!! The Hanes Cinderella ad. I'd do anything to be Prince Charming (lol) retrieving her shoe getting an eyeful of those lovely nylon legs & feet. That gal is a perfect fit for Cinderella too. I've always favored the No Nonsense ad w/the blonde at 3:30 even though it's only a 15 sec spot. The Leggs "Put On Your Leggs & Go" ad is great too. I wanted to be both the guy who gets it at 3:50 & the cam-guy who shot it. Hell I'd love to be any guy who got to see all that. Sweeet!!!
All the commercials in this set are pretty good (the 1st one's a little bizarre) but those 3 are the 1s that stand out the most. Wish when they did the Hanes Cinderella ad that they showed a close up of Cinderella's foot as Prince Charming places the shoe on it instead of ending it where they did. I would've ended it w/a smile on Cind's face or something like that. That ad's a bona fide classic!!! There's none quite like it!!!
Actually the "Put On Your Leggs & Go" scene I dig is at 3:48 or 3:49. What I wouldn't give to be that guy getting that pleasant surprise or Prince Charming in the Hanes Cinderella ad. I bet both guys enjoyed those fine fine moments!!!
I saw an attractive lady in Payless with her teenage daughter. The lady was in a long skirt with a high slit and sheer tan pantyhose while the teen was in jeans and sneakers. The lady bent over very fast for a shoe. Her skirt slid up so high that her pantyhose butt popped out. The daughter saw me looking and shot me an evil look. Then she whispered to her mother about me. Instead of giving me a beat down the daughter walked out. As the mother followed she turned and winked at me.
@bbepqfe If this was in a place like Poland both, the mom and the daughter would be wearing sheer pantyhose, even if the daughter had sneakers. I see many teenage girls in Poland wear shiny sheer pantyhose with shorts, and sometimes so short that their control tops show and everyone knows about it and no one minds that. That's what you see in the summer in Poland. In America these days girls are not raised to wear pantyhose, but that's not the case everywhere like in Europe or Japan.
@clogspantyhose I agree with everything you said because 90% of all the Russian and Polish ladies I’ve known in the USA are BIG pantyhose wearers. I’m talking with dresses, skirts and even under the pants almost every day. However, I have this female co-worker from Russia who used to wear them all the time. She suddenly stopped late last year and never went back.
@bbepqfe In Poland in the summer you can see girls and women not wear pantyhose too. Though there are enough that do wear pantyhose that you can say women do wear them. Every minute in busy traffic you can see a few women that wear pantyhose. Some do and some don't. But there is no such thing in Poland that pantyhose wearing would be something from the past or that you would not see anyone all day not wear pantyhose. If I look at girls, in Poland I can see girls wear pantyhose all day.
I was glad to see this series finally continue. These commercials clips sure bring back memories. The eighties were the pantyhose golden age. I really hope pantyhose make a comeback in the near future.
@bbepqfe If you don't want to wait for something that may never happen you may consider moving overseas where women do wear pantyhose. There are many countries where they do. Europe is one of these places.
Same here. After watching it in late 1981 (and not for the first time), I found myself on a "Cinderella" kick that became a Disney fascination following my viewing the Disney movie on December 30th of the same year.
