  • Goosebumps.

  • christopher nolan amazing movies!!

  • Usually not like this but i HATE it when somebody totally COPIES your comment right after you write your, but they get all the thumbs up cause they're the first one people see now. I know i just sounded like a bitch, but it just burns me. Now I know why authors HATE plagerism.

  • if Tarantino made this movie, inception would only be possible if Samuel L Jackson pointed the gun at Cillian Murphy and shouted 'Break up yo daddy's empire you white bitch' followed by a recitation of ezikiel:15

  • This scene was a bit anticlimactic for me.I think ti was just the father/son interaction wasn't strong enough.

  • pls tell me what his father said.....I WAS DISSAPOINTED CAUSE _______.....

  • nvm..i know now..found it in imdb..its THAT HE TRIED..lol

  • @wewong1 "I was dissapointed, that you tried."

  • incredible movie !

  • Fire rises

  • One of Pete Postlethwaite last appearances in films. Ironically, he was dying of cancer while play the role of a dying man. Superb actor. RIP.

  • 'this isn't my dream.... DISAPPOINTED!!!'

  • One of the best scene of the whole cinema History

  • I'm still confused about this last part of the movie. Why does Fisher's subconsious make him believe his actually said he was disspointed he tried to be like (that he loved him)? Surely this only makes sense if they planted the windmill in the safe as part of the dream architecture and Fisher saw the windmill FIRST. But his father speaks first. What actually makes him believe that was what his dad said? How did they know that in the last moments that he would believe it?

  • @SuperSparkyMark1 Probably deep down he already knew his dad didn't want him to be like him. The way he would treat him,and Cobb and Co.planting the "doubt (idea) in his head gave him the little push to believe it really was true.

  • @hulllewis0817 Also I think the pinwheel was in the picture next to his fathers bed before he died. I read that the pinwheel was the symbol for reconciliation. His Father truly did love him and he didn't have to prove that he could be like him, and that was the icing on the Inception working. He could now be his own person,.

  • @SuperSparkyMark1 It was Fischers dream; he created everything from scratch. The other dreams before this one were used to make fischer feel like Browning was hiding something, and then they pretended to go to Brownings dream, but actually went to Fischer's. The last dream was created entirely by what Fischer percieved (Browning hiding something, difficult to figure out Browning [all the security]) etc. Fischer created the windmill because he wanted to find it in the safe.

  • @Xboxlove1 hmm so the wind mill was there because fischer wanted it to....what about his fathers dying words?

  • @BLOOD1MONEY exactly.. both the windmill, because thats how he saw it, and his father's words, because thats what he wanted to hear, appeared in the dream.

  • whats the name of the soundtrack at 1:35 ?

  • whats the name of the soundtrack here?

  • 2:29 I shed my tears.

  • @Rand3mAnclrew He says "I was disappointed that you tried"

  • dissapointed climax. Sounds like my sex life.

  • what is he disappointed in? it sound like tries.

  • Nolan has said the ending is real coz - 1.cobb sees his children's faces. 2.the children are aged and worn diffrent clothes.catch it on blu ray.roll over to the credits on the cast portion.diffrent children are used for portraying the kids in dream and in the ending. 3.and who said you that the totem sppined forever?.the scene is cut without the result.so saying that the totem spins forever is foolishness! 4.cobb always wears a wedding ring in a dream but in the end he is not!
  • @dkoolscorpionx The whole idea of totem spinning and cut, means that it is not important to him whether it's dream or not. Only being with his children is important to him. Nothing else matters.

  • The two second pause @ 2:44 by Tom Hardy before detonating was a great bit of direction/acting. His character, itching to press the button moments ago, is taken aback for a beat by the emotion of the moment. real or dreamt. Confirms the power of the moment to the audience.

  • watching this in 2012 and i still get chills from this scene

  • what a soundtrack it makes a big difference

  • ron paul 2012 fuck it!

  • R.I.P Pete Postlethwaite

  • One time i had a dream i was being constantly taunted by this beeping and it was actually my alarm clock to wake me up lol wtf!

  • @foodbug rofl yeah i know. when you hear noises in the real world , your dream converts it into something else to keep you asleep. i once heard my name shouting over and over untill i woke up and realised a bird kept screaming at the exact same timings haha.

  • The special thing about inception is that people also dont realize it also has a lot to do with symbols. Like having a totem really matters. In the number 528491 helped him unlock his symbol which was the paper windmill him and his father made. Finding your totem in life matters. The symbol that allow you to remember what is real.

  • greatest movie ever! LEONARDO IS THE MAN

  • The sad thing is that this incredibly emotional scene was fabricated in the dream world so he would have a positive emotional reaction, and thus be motivated to dissolve his father's company. In reality, his father was probably a huge dick.

  • I love @ 4:03 when Ellen's eyes open as the water splashes in the van around her. beautiful shot with a beautiful and talented actress

  • The sad thing is this is all made up by Leo/Cobb. His dad WAS dissappointed in him. He did want his son to follow in his foot steps. Be a man much like himself.

  • @oopopp Yeah but they kind of helped him be a better man because of it , I like to look at it that way.

  • isn't it ironic that in one of his last roles pete postlewaite plays a dying old man?

  • @blablaman233

Thank you for that inaccurate insight, Alanis Morissette.

  • The biggest mindtrick of all in this, is that it wasn't the spinning toy that was his totem... it was the faces of his children. He doesn't show them to anyone so that nobody can fake them for him. The toy was his wifes totem, not his own.

  • Why did Saito spend so much time in Limbo? Why didn't he kill himself once he ended up there? And if Cobb was looking for him, why didn't he age as well?

  • @Karnezar He only does so in thought, thought was relative so if his mind races and he thinks... dreams... that he has spent ages there. He does. He forms accordingly. Cobb is more lost in translation, he doesn't even know who he himself is at some point of which he as not experienced "age of mind" the way Saito has since he is completely lost; Only retaining his physical idea whilst losing his psyche.

  • epic!

  • I think Chris Nolen is wonderful! I would love to sit with him any day!!! And just learn, or hear his mind.

  • that music at 1:35....goosebumps!!!

  • actually, his father never loved him. This part of the movie is the inception because they wanted him to think his dad loved him.is that not what they were aiming for???

  • whats the name of the theme song at 1.05

  • @MrMaxendiesel 528491 by hans zimmer

  • Son I am disappoint

  • thanx for the upload

  • I just have one question about this scene (it may be a stupid question). In REAL LIFE, when Robert Fischer's father said "disappointed" to Robert, was he disappointed at Robert for not being able to be him OR was he disappointed because he tried to be him? I know it was the second case in this scene (in the dream within a dream within a dream), but i'm just wondering if that was the case in real life when Maurice Fischer actually died.

  • @KennyG881 Interesting question, and we will never know the answer, but I suspect in reality, the father was just disappointed, and in this scene, INCEPTION is achieved becasue the team discussed how to achieve it level by level, and Fisher's subconcious added this part. I think the pinwheel in the safe was added by Eames after they lifted his wallet and the saw the pic of his dad and him with it.

  • We'll never know. But as far as Fischer knows, his uncle knew the truth, and when he thought he was in his uncles dream, he was fed the lie that his father loved him. So since he trusted his uncle, and since the idea was planted so deep, Fischer believed it.

But in reality, we'll never know.

  • Mal disliked this video.

  • I think the scene between Robert and Maurice is fake. Obviously Dom planned it by replicating the pinwheel and deliberately asking Robert for numbers and thus leading to the vault number. But is however the best scene of the film for me. Cillian is boss ;)

  • @triggertheoriegroupy obviously it's fake...it's a dream

  • @deathspasm9

Lol the whole movie revolved around dreams. I just clicked on to that part just as you mentioned it XD

  • ITS DR. CRANE!

  • who the hell is the one who disliked that video? you disappointed 33 thousands watcher.

  • Not gonna lie. I cried when it showed he had the pinwheel in the safe.

  • And this was the part Cillian Murphy should have got an oscar nod

  • your video and music are wonderful loved

  • The first couple of times I saw that scene, I actually choked back a few tears. So emotional!

  • @xBellatrixLestrangex same here brother lol same here

  • You know whats funny, I had a dream like this, but it was with a Safe. I put in the numbers 38 36 2. Yes I know weird combo. Now in school its like I am a change man.......

  • Son...

    I am disappoint.

  • 3:02 finally!!!!!

  • I remember the kick part in the cinema, bass so loud I still fell it.

  • 528491 is the actual name of the song at 1:35 you can find it on itunes in the inception album

  • instant classic, im gonna show this to my kids and hopefully their kids

  • whats the song that kicks in around 1:35?

    i love it

  • @killakhalilking the song is called 528491

  • @killakhalilking that hans zimmer for ya.

  • Son I am disappoint!

  • It's weird for me seeing Cillian Murphy cry b/c every movie i've seen him in, he was a bad guy: Batman Begins, Dark Knight, Red Eye

  • @KennyG881 not in 28 days later you should see that

  • The funniest thing just happened to me.

I was listening to the song named 528491 and I caught myself thinking *Darn, I deleted the movie from my hard disk a long time ago and I really want to see that scene where this piece is heard... I should browse it on youtube.*

I am the perfect idiot! xD

And I am also the uploader, by the way. :D

  • @DaiNA9966 We must go deeper.

  • @DaiNA9966 I added this to my favourites or should I call ''memories.''

  • @DaiNA9966 Lol. I´m sure this was not entirely your idea. :D

  • really one of the most amazing movies ever

  • all his dad wanted him to be his own man

  • Comment removed

  • @sammyjny

No, that's what they want him to think.

  • Cillian Murphy OWNED this part of the movie!

  • after 1:35 me => D'x

  • maurice looks like my grandpa

  • I'm a man who has seen a lot of bad shit in life.I have had sorrow and depression thrust upon me and took it with a grain of salt.I live life knowing bad things happen and I've grown used to it.That being said.I cry like a fucking bitch when I watch this!

  • i almost cried when he pulled the pinwheel out of the safe... it was so sad! :(

  • I think this scene, when Fischer's father tells him he was "disappointed... that you tried [to be like him]" was one of the best scenes in cinematic history.

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

  • Its all facial expressions that bring the emotion of me in this scene, fantastic acting

  • I cried at this scene :'(

  • This is what can happen when talented English directors/actors have the facilities available to most Hollywood productions.

  • after watching this more than 10 times, it just gets better and better !

  • I counted that I got the chills over 6 times in this one scene.

  • son...i am disappoint

  • i saw this movie now 27 times maybe worldrecord :D

  • Comment removed

  • @DeLaSoleil You are not alone

  • whats sad is the young fella isnt even a bad guy- hes a good natured, albeit sad man because he couldnt get the acceptance of his father. All of this happened so that he change his fathers company around so that he would no longer be a competition to Watanabe.

All of this to ruin a good man.

  • @stringerboi maybe if the movie continued, Fischer would have been successful in doing his own thing and is happy

  • @stringerboi At the end of the day it would still just be an idea in his head, it would be up to him whether or not to actually make changes to the company

  • Its a movie within mystery within an enigma within a misconception in your mind

  • Fischer steps into... a holodeck.

  • Improvising!

Ariadne was so badass at that point...

  • The absolute brilliant thing is, thats the emotions that are conveyed to the audience through Fischer and his father's reveal, are as constructed as the dream they all share. These are not the real thoughts of his father...they trick him into thinking it...still its damn emotional...Nolan, you fucking genius...

  • what is the name of the song

  • @astroswon1 528491-Hanz Zimmer

  • @astroswon1 a dream is collpasing i think

  • Was this Pete Postlethwaite's last scene ever? It might as well have been, it was that damned good.

    RIP, Pete.

  • still think Inception is over-hyped as balls and doesn't deserve all the credit it's getting, just saying...

  • @AndrisStafeckis456

That's the great thing about art: it's subjective. Two people can watch the exact same film and have two completely different experiences. And neither is wrong. Just different!

  • @AndrisStafeckis456 im just glad it's different. how hard is it to make a remake of a movie, a movie based on a true story, or a movie on a book? I'm not saying i don't enjoy those or that theyre easy to make but certainly easier to make than inception. this movie was made completely from scratch. it was all in nolan's mind and i think that in itself is impressive. i recommend Memento, now that nolan film is amazing

  • In my opinion this is the most astonishing climax that was ever produced in a movie up to this day. Never seen anything like it. How many things need to be perfectly developed to come together creating this masterpiece. Unbelievable, feels like I'm dreaming when I watch this fabulous Movie!:)

  • Guys explain something to me. In the first dream sequence of the movie, Cobb gets dunked in the water one dream level above so that he wakes up in the dream below. Similarly when they're testing the new chemicals by repeatedly tipping over Joseph Gordon Levitt's character. In these last dream sequences, it's falling in the dream that wakes them up in the level above. The kick works the opposite way. I suppose it doesn't really matter in such a grand movie but it's inconsistent right?

  • @sriramsrikumar

I don't understand your question. Or maybe I do and you're making false assumptions? When cobb gets dunked in the tub he wakes up from the dream within a dream. Which means he woke up in the dream he is in.

    Same thing happens here

  • @ObliviuxProductions mm sorry my question wasn't clear. Cobb's dunked in the tub, the falling sensation in the dream wakes him up into that dream. Arthur's falling sensation in the real world wakes him up into the real world. In the last sequence, the falling sensation they experience in the dream wakes them up OUT of that dream and into the level "above". ... or is that not what's happening in the kick sequence?

  • @sriramsrikumar

I think I understand what you mean now. Well see I think it can work both ways. For example, if you are sleeping and some one drops you, you will feel the G forces and wake up. This can also happen in a dream, in those kinds of dreams that you feel like you are falling and you wake up.

I think they only had to do the reverse one on fischer because he was "dead" and couldn't be woken up from above and they had to go under to give him a kick there. Do you get it?

  • This scene is so powerful especially when you watch the whole movie and get to this one moment it's intense.

  • This has no dislikes because Leonardo DiCaprio invaded the mind of every person who was going to dislike it and planted the idea that if he or she disliked this video his or her dying father would be disappointed.

  • when you got a love one that is dying you want to embrace every last hour together happy as it use to be even

though you are a sad moment and it hard to

  • i burst into tears without fail, every single time i watch this scene. and the scene where cobb says 'we did grow old together'. brilliant movie, brilliant actors, and it couldnt have been done without the genius of Hans Zimmer. i listen to the soundtrack everyday, beautiful.

  • @PoppyKhanMusic EXACTLY. Those are my two favorite scenes from the entire movie, just for the fact they can give me a dry sob.

  • when his father says 'I was disappointed... that you tried' and then the music starts playing loudly, I get the chills! like every time!

  • @MrAdijack yep i got one too.

  • I don't know if this is true since I only read it off of TvTropes, and they got it form a "friend of a friend" account; but apparently, between takes, Pete Postlethwaite told Cillian Murphy that he was going to die soon (this was early on, so not a lot of people knew). Fischer's sadness in this scene is Cillian's actual emotion IRL about the news.

  • T_T

  • 0:50 to 1:38 looks like one humongous tribute to Kubrick and 2001: Space Odyssey.

  • yeah...i was always too scared to watch this movie, but i ended up watching this scene, and i don't even know what's going on, all i know is that cillian murphy is crying and i am crying as well. now i'm going to go watch it, rather than study for exams. yay!

  • I have seen this movie at least six times. And that part where Robert pulls the pinwheel out of the safe? Still leaves me bawling like a baby.

  • @MURPHYCHACHO Ditto. Few movies get me to tear up (Super 8 only being a recent one) but the raw emotion in this scene completely overwhelmed me when I first saw it. Still does...

  • I love how the music shifts when he says "no.... I was dissapointed... that you tried."

  • My dad died in january the same year this came out. When I saw this scene, shit killed me. Exspecially seeing someone die in a hospital on a bed.

  • Hans Zimmer's compositions never cease to amaze me

  • Not to trivialize the epicness of this scene, but did anyone else see something dirty in the title of this?

  • When I first saw this, I was so close to bursting into tears. I was so moved and touched by this scene. I still get teary eyed nearly every time I watch it. :) Also, R.I.P. Pete Postlethwaite.

  • Comment removed

  • "i know you were disappointed i couldnt be you" "no no, i was disappointed you tried" amazing.

  • I'm glad I wasn't the only one who cried =')

  • Pete is World's Greatest actor. He even died in this movie.. what a awesome scene.

  • you can see it in his face when his dad told him he was dissappointed that he tried like omg i never thought of it like that or something very touching

  • This scene proves why Cillian Murphy had the best performance in Inception.

  • @wowbobwow37 Agreed. He performed the best out of anybody else and he didn't have as much screen time as the others.

  • @wowbobwow37 Who?

  • Comment removed

  • SUCH A BEAUTIFUL MOVIE. I'VE NEVER CRIED SO MUCH! BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME.

  • The way in which Cobb's team planned the Fischer job was beautiful! They just conned him into allowing his own subconscious to provide him with the idea! This movie is awesome. How can a movie achieve such a thing?! I love Chris Nolan!

  • its the Inception Soundtrack track number 6 entitled 528491...great soundtrack if you dont have it pick it up. this scene is amazing btw

  • 1:32-2:48 What's the name of the soundtrack?

  • @bennysupertramp2

    528491

    It occurs during the middle

  • @bennysupertramp2 Inception - 06. 528491

    /watch?v=EbwNnJ7UMek

  • "Improvise" kicks Fischer. Fucking Amazing!!!

  • this scene is devastating. in reality, the father probably did call the son a disappointment. now fischer thinks his father truly loved him. heartbreaking.

  • @xocraziixo agreed, the truth of which his father disappointed in him but inherited the empire of wealth, or the dream of which his father love him and want him to be his own man.

But it seem the dream is the one that make Fischer content with his life now. It's a win-win.

btw, the paper windmill is extraordinary , i did not see that coming at all.

  • if a director doesn't get nominated for this scene, then it proves the academy is a sham

  • @nabeelm82 The Academy is always a sham, at least in recent history when they give credit that is WAY overdue to some directors. Although the Academy offers what movies were worthy to watch, it gives aspiring filmmakers like me to watch them and get ideas.

  • I personally find this scene utterly horrifying.

  • I'll not lie, I actually cried a bit in this scene... :(

I feel sorry for Fischer <:(

  • And here...we...GO

  • one word AWESOMESS

  • 528491

    Such an epic track

  • there is no 4:16

  • @BlockisticStudios Paradox. ~kick~
