  • I Have 1

  • I'm 17 and got my first car about a month ago. A 1997 White Signature Series Lincoln Town Car. Amazingly it only had 19,000 original miles on it, still in wonderful condition. So while everyone at my school is rolling in the parking lot with a toy car called the camaro, I'm driving in luxury!

  • A few of the out of print book "Lincoln and Continental Classic Motor Cars, The Early Years" still remain. see TheMarvinArnold on YouTube or storydomain com

  • Own 2003 Sig with only 79000. Plan on holding on to it for a long time. The only car I've ever owned that doesn't give me a sore back after a long trip. Dad drove Town Cars for years and I always teased him about. Then he loaned me his 95 for a 5 hour trip and I fell in love with. Had to get one of my own and ultimately did. Gets 26mpg on highway and averages 20-21 city/hiway. Not bad for a tank. No issues to date and doubt I'll have any with proper maintenance. Great car.

  • 1995 Sig (air ride converted over ,my only gripe )170,000 original same motor miles drives like the wind and rides like a pillow .Plan on Repainting it and redoing the entire interior and keeping it till my son takes the keys from my cold dead hands :)

  • From 1980 and earlier the Town Car was a part of the Continental line, which saw use on a Lincoln as far back as 1922 on a custom-made car built for Ford's founding father, and reappeared in 1959 on a limo-like version of the Continental Mark IV, that special model available in black only.

Not until 1969 would the Town Car be a recurring interior package for the Continental sedan. From 1973-81 there were also Town Car coupes, called appropriately enough, Continental Town Coupes.

  • (continued)

The Town Car became a model in its own right in 1981 (where this presentation starts at) because Ford contemplated downsizing its once-related Continental sedan for 1982, hence there were no 1981 Continental models per se, except for the Continental Mark VI coupe and sedan which continued through 1983.

The last rear-drive Continental sedan appeared in 1982, which also replaced the Versailles, used the Fox chassis. In 1984 it was joined by the Mark VII coupe.

  • i will miss the great LINCOLN of ALL TIME,the LINCOLN TOWNCAR,(sedan). :)

  • 30 years only 3 major design changes...only in america.

  • WHAT?no more lincoln TOWNCAR,now THAT IS A SHAME for a BIG CAR COMPANY......

  • i mn WHERE is the licoln TOWNCAR,they should bld a new model

whit the 5.0 v-8 and then there will be GLORY

  • The drive in a Lincoln Town car is like no other in the world, a fine piece of American technolgy, the big V8 motor coupled to smooth 4 speed auto, Power everything. Yes Sir a Lincoln is the way to go. God Bless America.

  • used by grannys and grandpas since 1981

  • @MusicWithDABASS

Mostly to ram into convenience stores.

  • they started looking very nice after 98'

  • The rear on the 1984 Lincoln Town Cars was straight, not slanted.

  • oh my god! you make a great job!!! lincoln luxury car

can you make one´s for grand marquis?

  • @kornpulsivo Why would you want to make one of Grand Marquis they suck only people who cant afford lincoln have to settle with Mercury

  • gotta love the townies!

  • Does anyone know how long can these cars last?

  • I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A NEW 2014 LICOLN TOWN CAR whit the ALL NEW 5.0

V-8 DRIVEN TO THE REAR WHLS,WHIT AROUND 450HP/485TRQ,NOW

THAT WOULD BE NICE TO BUY....

  • @svg571 I would Like to see it be a 2012 Lincoln Town Car with it leading the way with Lincolns new design features

  • @svg571 too bad 2012 is the last year and has been un changed since 2003 xD they gave up on the plat form in like 03 and 04 IMO since they went unchanged since then i mean, really 2012 towncar with a cd player... although there all sold to fleets now.

  • @HondaFag92 Part 1/2 Lincoln Town Car is a luxury car. If you get the right one. 2005-2007 lincoln town car where the best years after 2008 Lincoln gave up on Town Car. In 2005 lincoln made a car called "Signature Limited" It included two tone leather seats standard with two tone door trims as a option. It had unique rims. It also had a unique color it was two tone between a pearl white and a tanishish in the bottom. The Signature limited had premium Bridge of Weir leathe witch was exlusive.

  • @HondaFag92 There was a few options there was optional HID lights, Navigation System witch included THX sound system, and 6cd. In 2006-2007 they made a car called "Designer Series witch was a really nice car. It had optional 17in rims. It also had a Preimum leather like the Signature Limited but more softer. Same options has signature limited. The only big diffrence was the leather, rims and rear seats because the rear seats had a adjustable head leaner. After that Lincoln let town car die.

  • @sellweed i pologize and lincoln didnt let it die ford let the platform die, imo it was when they had the tarus freestyle and 500 and all those fucked up cars. and neglected to update the panther platform then dying a couple weeks back.

  • @HondaFag92 Those 3 years 2005-2007 where the nicest Town cars lincoln made IMO take a look at them you might like them

  • Great timing in the music with the intro of the 1990's Town Cars.

    My other favourites are 1972-73 + 77-79.

  • my dad has town car i think it rides better then my moms bmw 745li the suspension on that bmw are freaking stiff towncars ride smooth

  • Why buy a town car? people are just going to hail at you on the streets! wouldn't a average person just want to buy a 5 series? or a LS460? Why buy an American car that would last maybe like 5 years? pointless!

  • @NickzGuitar

What an ignorant person you are. The Lincoln Town Car has been one of the most reliable full size luxury sedans in the roads. Its platform and mechanic components have been tried and true for years. Actually I still see lots of them compared to other luxury brands, specially the ones made from 1990-1997 (2nd generation). And if you have never been in a Town Car you can´t complain. So get your facts straight. Also an average person would prefer a Mercedes over a boring Lexus.

  • @NickzGuitar I actually have been in a Town Car and let me tell you, it is not smooth. I almost broke my back just by driving on the highway they stink!

  • How about . . . . everyone who doesn't like North American cars moves to the country that is home to the company headquarters of the cars and trucks of which they do approve.

Ya . . . move to countries where Americans are hated (even though many of those countries owe us billions for years of aid and support)

  • HHHHHHHHHHHH

  • I enjoyed this video. I own a 2009 Town Car. I can't tell people enough how much i love this car! I'm going to keep this baby till it falls apart. The comfort and solid construction are unbelievable for the price. I just wish Ford would have offered more color choices. Long Life the full size Lincoln sedan! To think of these new Lincolns with bucket seats is a joke. Ford is going to seriously regret retiring this model.

  • @Buffalobigboy69 Keep your 2009 in good shape you will be very happy with it.

  • ill be honest, i loved the older models, so amazing, but the new models just dont look as good.

  • I own a 2007 Lincoln town car signature series and im telling you the quality and safety is unmatched for its price.Thats why Lincoln's are used for limos, taxis, airport cars, presidents and chauffeuring the elite around.

  • As a professional Chauffeur, I rue the end of the line for this car. I currently use a 2010 Executive L, and there will never be another car to replace it in the coming decade. No car will give the ride of the Town Car. No other car can offer up to 400,000 miles of service. But the only buyers today are livery, and the demographic of this car for personal use has shrunk below the profit level.

  • i want to buy a 200 lincoln town car?

  • shame that its being axed in August 2011.....the last of the american landyachts....ok downsized traditional american large sedans.....

  • The early 90s are the best !!! :)

  • I have a 98,Town car with only 40,000 miles runs like new show room condition,I just love this car, think i'll keep it!

  • Thank you for making this video I enjoyed it all along the music really explains the great experience of driving one of this planes of the road, when i got older I would love to have one Town Car in my garage just for the pleasure of seing it

  • save this special lincoln towncar for ever, these cars wnt come back,UNLESS

    lincoln build them again...NICE VIDEO..

  • What was so good about this every model redesign it was bigger than the one before in terms of interior room

  • damn! the 80's models is so much better!

  • lol were soooooooo good, that no one was buying them and they had to be discontinued. Piece of junk

  • @Benzfever Why you on this page hating on a great american car. If you owned a Town Car obviously you don't you'd understand what this video entails.

  • another example of BIG classic AMERICAN luxury car! loved driving my aunt's 93 TC, it was such a big, powerful car and so, so, so luxurious.

  • 1983 and 1984 also had the sticking out bumpers and pointy quarter panel extensions.

  • when I was 7 my moms friend had a 91 Town Car it was white and my brother was 13 he would drive it through our country neighborhood and i would ride as passenger! It got stolen so she got a 1996... I liked the white one better... partially because of the headlights were bigger and then the whole car was bigger, longer, wider and taller... I miss that car!!!!! :(

  • @ca13814 not true the 96 was in fact longer,the 91 had bigger lights.In ength the 1990-94 was 218.9in (5,560mm)

    1995-97 was 219.0 in (5,563mm).In the Width 1990–91: 78.1 in (1,984 mm) 1992–94: 76.9 in (1,953 mm)

    1995–97: 76.7 in (1,948 mm).In Height 1990–94: 56.7 in (1,440 mm)

  • I wish they had a few of these in Gran Turismo 5! :( but they dont. WWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was lucky enough to come into the possession of a fine example of a used Lincoln '93 Signature Series Town Car. Limited edition. Great low price on the used car lot. Only one previous owner who was quite elderly and barely put any miles on her. Had her five or six years and she runs like a dream. I'm sold on Lincolns and will eventually trade in for a newer one.

  • @Pilaf1984

well 2011 is the last year according to ford, so if you want an extermely low miles town car you better get it soon

most get high mileage from their owners due to them lasting so long before major repairs

i wish you luck you'll love the newer town car i have a 2002 (i found the 2003 model didn't look as nice in my opinion)

their replacement is the mkt or mks and that's a v6 turbo, front wheel drive and less then ideal trunk from what i have seen compared to the town car

  • Lincoln Town Car or Jaguar XJ?

  • @Nytherr The new XJ is the best (looking) 4 door coupe of this era TMHO. However, head room in the back sucks. What is a luxury car if you can't even sit in it? Go for a Lincoln or Grand Marquis; they're much roomier & affordable. (And they won't steal it!)

  • Just like music, the Lincoln Town Car got crappy in 1990. Too bubbly and rounded. Just like music. :)

  • i think when the NTSB tested the 1980's towncar, it just smashed the barrier in half and kept going

  • i think when the NTSB tested the 1980's towncar, it just smashed the barrier in half and kept going

  • i think when the NTSB tested the 1980's towncar, it just smashed the barrier in half and kept going

  • I swear the music matches the growing elegance that is the Lincoln Town car

  • I hate the newer body styling on these cars, I wish they would do a more older look to them to bring the real look of these cars.

  • @The18Jake the new design are nice better than the 1998 to 2002

  • These cars are so beatiful. I wish the kept making them throw that 5.0L V8 maybe put in 412 horsepower redisign it make it bigger bolder who agrees.

  • i agree also i have a 95 black executive purchased it for 950 with 220k....now has 250k....had 1 ball joint prob burns a little oil...smoother than silk....i road in my cousins 09 S550 doesnt have 60thous dollr better ride...i know Ford is doing well but why would they cut out a Town Car,,the rear drive platform is what kept Lincoln above Caddilliac when they went all front drive..all was needed was improveing the susp a little more power and a 8speed trans no Benz Audi Lexus could touch that.

  • @7miledog I agree put a 8 speed automatic. Redsign it make it bigger bolder. Also they should make two options of engines the 5.0L V8 and the 5.4L V8 and discontinute the Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis to make the new Town Car stand out. Also they should stop making town cars as rental cars. Right now i got a 2000 Licnoln Town Car Sinature Seriers, but im thinking of trading it in for a 2007 Lincoln MKZ there really nice

  • 97 very very beauty and 2009

  • i love this car. Most of the Saudis like lincoln After BMW and Mercedes

  • Simply, the World's Best Car!!! I Own My '93 Lincoln Town Car, Just a Diamond!

  • When i Get a Car.....i want a Lincoln Towncar

  • You got 1984 wrong. The body style change happened in 1985 not 1984. Sorry pal.

  • 90.97 model was one of hte best looking cars ever produced.

  • I had a 2001 Signature Series towncar as my first car and i still have it till this very day with now 145,999 miles its the best car ever and the french silk paint still shines like new along with the parchment leather that still looks new even the power sunroof still works. im proud to own this lincoln and i will have it for long as i live. its a shame mercury died off now thats going to be pretty hard for me to find parts for my 03 Sable LS and now lincoln will be gone in the next 5.

  • My grandfather has a 2003 Lincon Town Car, the car rides like a 100,000 mercadies, is quite speedy for the size, and it looks like heven. I love TownCar's

  • I used to work for Budget car rental and we had the Town car in our fleet. These are the most smooth riding cars I have ever driven. I wish I could had driven them outside our yard and really had the chance to enjoy these legendary road cars.

  • OH what a beauty, thanks god i had the opportunity to buy my first car and it was a 1996 town car congressional series with leather at the half of the roof, since then I love the town cars, finally in december i´m buying the 2004 and i hope keep the car for a very long time, will be always classic., thanks for the video

  • I love town cars specially the 80s year when i was 4 years my father got 89 and before it 85 and 87 belive me i still remember the last one,now my cousin got 94 white with green vinily top & green leather enetrior,i i married after 6 month maybe i well sell my LS1 camaro z28 and buy 2003 up town car or i well be lucky if i found a stored 89.

  • 2011 is the last year of the Town Car. It's official.

So this is your last chance to buy a brand new Town Car.

After 2011, if you want to buy a brand new full sized Lincoln, you'll have no choice but the MK-S.

  • @jrdkck Not true Town Car has already been replaced by the MKS

  • @jrdkck Thank God...

  • lincoln

  • My aunt has a 1990 Lincoln town car. But, she sold it to some owners.

  • @MrRey84972 That makes no sence.

She sold it to some owners?

  • linconln

  • i miss my big lincoln towncar exec series so much. big car but was so easy to drive. quiet and secure on the road. looking down that aircraft carrier size hood and the slim hood ornament slicing thru the wind. and oh the memories of those big leather seats!

  • THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THEIR COMMENTS, ITS SUCH A PLEASURE TO SHARE THE PREFERENCE FOR THE TOWN CAR, DOESN'T THIS CAR GIVE YOU A SENSE OF ELEGANCE, COMFORT, TRANQUILITY AND SAFETY?

  • @mercurygm757 Im 23 and have a 1978 Lincoln town Car with two of my close friends! We love the ride, the elegance and they style of all the Lincoln Town Cars and am sad to hear they are going to stop producing it! Thanks for this lovely video!

  • @mercurygm757 I AGREE WITH EVERY WORD OF YOURS, NOTHING TO ADD TO YOU =)

  • @mercurygm757 The town car is a piece of shit

  • @cujoluv and this is coming form someone in Croatia?? i didn't think you even had town cars there, So what would you know about quality cars?

  • @larasa007 I live in NYC.we use them as cabs here.I have ridden in a few, very slow big engine waste lots of gas rear wheel drive so it always gets stuck during snowstorms in the city. They are however being slowly replaced by Nissan Altimas,Bmw 7 series and Mercedes S class as TLC cars.

  • @cujoluv I don't know if BMW is cheaper on fuel then these cars? My professor has a BMW 750 and he complains how hard it is on fuel. The reason i like American cars better than say BMW, Mercedes and so on is the parts, it's so much cheaper to buy a part of an American car than the ones i listed. Also I do love big cars but the price of fuel the way it is I can't afford to have a big car and spend $100 on fuel. Even my friends who drive SUV had to park them and get smaller cars.

  • @larasa007 The Lincoln Town Cars run on regular-grade fuel. The BMW 7er takes more expensive high-octane fuel because the motors are designed to make much more power. Fuel economy is similar. Both are still large vehicles with large engines, and both will cost a bundle to fill up compared to a Honda Civic or Ford Fiesta.

  • Thanks for posting. The town car are the last full size RWD platform cars on the road. My favorites are the 88-97 signature/cartiers

  • im from sweden and i love the lincoln town car i have a dodge nitro

  • Why anyone celebrate cheap inferior engineering ? As big as these cars they are subpar in crash test compared into even a new Honda Civic. Ford should be ashamed for not funding a new ground up platform for this vehicle. The interiors feel like they apart to call apart even when new.

  • i had a 1985 the best car ever...when i sold it it had 350.000 miles and ran grait! i regret selling it...

  • I have the 2005 TC....and it is one of the only cars I have owned that I love to ride in as much as drive! Built FORD TRUCK TOUGH.....and rides like a cloud! Loaded with gadgets and more comfort than anything comparable!

  • the '90s era Town Cars are what comes to mind when I think of American cars. To someone from the UK, they look kind of brutish, yet they have this kind of rugged beauty.

  • @ludek92 Im so glad to see someone from Europe love an true American luxury car.

  • Euro junk = Always way too overpriced. The reason why you pay so much is because of the badge.

In the end, only the Americans and the Japanese make the real luxury cars at reasonable price.

And this Lincoln Town Car is just so beautiful.

  • The 1993 picture is absolutely perfect =) One day I'll buy this big boat although I'm not even living in the US!

  • For all the arguments about horsepower. This is a True luxury vehicle. It's prime mission? To be as comfortable and accommodating to the driver as possible. The goal of the Lincoln Town Car is NOT speed or race car like performance. It is a comfortable, exquisite ride. I drive a '97 and I love it. Sure I don't race it but I really have no need to go too far over the speed limit.

  • @mbommari Thank you. Soft, quiet and big the correct way to make a luxury car. Not firm and fast like the Germen's. We had the right idea of true luxury but will soon be fazed out by sport sedan's trying to be luxury car's. Although i do love BMW's and Mercedes Benz. And what ever Lincoln and Cadillac put out to compete with the germen car's.

  • My uncle has had several of them and they are his favorite cars of all.

  • Damn this video is great. Just love how the music builds up to the 1990 line of Town Cars. And WHAUM! There you have it, what a great looking car. 1990-1997 are the most beautiful of them all. I had the great pleasure of driving a couple of the 90ties Town Cars as rental cars while visiting the US.

  • @Danish4ever77 , thank u so much, its great to know you got the real essence of the video =oD

  • @Danish4ever77 Im so glad to see someone from Europe love an true American luxury car.

  • @Danish4ever77 comments like this make me proud to drive a 96 ^_^

  • Imports are still better than the Town Car. The ride quality is too floaty, rode in my friends' ex-airport and found the car to be a bit sluggish too. I wonder why Americans still use 4 spd transmissions and outdated engines in their newest cars. The Lexus LS460 4.6 motor produces 380HP whiles this only 239.

  • @7477238 It's because that engine is so inexpensive to produce and the main buyers of these cars are older people that aren't trying to go fast. They are just milking this car for what its worth and trying to get as much money out of the older crowd before they die off. There are a lot of American cars that have great engines. I will list the best engines we have imo. 3.7l v6: 305hp, 5.0l v8: 415hp, 3.5l tt v6; 365hp, sc 6.2l v8: 638hp, 5.4l sc v8: 550hp, 2.5l Hybrid i4: 41mpg. And many more.

  • @gunzkevin Those are great motors, especially the LS9. They're durable theres no doubt about that but the size of them and the lower power output that they have been giving for so long doesn't work for me. Now thats becoming less of a problem but they still have quite a way to go for overall power and refinement.

  • @7477238 Well I don't see any japanese motors being far superior if superior at all to any of the new engine offerings from Ford and GM. Check out some reviews, they will all complement the engines. The new 5.0l v8 from ford is rated at 412hp, but motertrend dyno tested it and found it to make 435hp. Assuming it makes 412hp it makes 82.4hp per liter. The 4.6 in the lexus ls460 makes 82.6hp per liter. So you can see that we have motors that make just as much power. (Almost).

  • @7477238 Also, ford had 2 engines on the most recent wards 10 best engines while toyota had 1. I mean, lexus has plenty of engines that make less power than competitors. They have a 5.7l making 383hp, a 4.3l making 288hp, and a 4.6l making 301hp. I'm not bashing lexus, but I am just saying that imports don't have the best engines necessarily and american vehicles are on the same level.

  • @7477238 its all a matter of personal preference....i like the Towncar....but im also quite fond of Lexus too.

  • I´m 21 years old, and since I have memory I´ve been loving this car, very smooth drive, big sits and interiors with big space. And the standards are pretty high. When I was 19 years old I bought my first car and of course, it was a Town Car 1995 Congressional Series with leather on half of the roof and sunroof. I just love it, but what i love more, it was that the car had 445,000 miles and still drive like new, the engine very quiet and powerful. Of course I´ll still buying Town Cars !!!!

  • Why would I put this over A Chrysler 300?? Of course I myself like the Lincoln brand myself. I even rented out its cousin (Mercury Grand Marquis). But with V8 performance just at around 240 at best and this is a luxury car, I would expect luxury performance from this car like adding in a 300HP 5.4 3valve V8 as an option. Nope and you can't even special order that with out a laugh from the dealer. Oh well, there's always the 420 HP SRT from Chrysler

  • I like the conventional design of the 1990-1997 Lincoln Town Car, it's so classy and 90s design....

  • I have a 1997 Lincoln town-car and I love it it is such a smooth ride. Got it for 2500 bucks. You can't beat a nice big car it gives 19 mpg too not to bad for a v8

  • One of the best if not the best car of America. I owned a Grand Marquis and everyone I saw with the panther platform seems to love his car, even the police. As soon as I have the money, I'm gonna buy a Town Car.

  • This is the reason why Europeans began to hate our American cars, the Town Car is absolutely horrible.

  • the change i think they need to make, is maybe the 5.4 or the new 5.0, the car is powerful enough, and our 95 cartier will remain with us for the duration, the bigger engines would sure help!

  • When is going to appear the new model?

  • @drc911 so far, not much planning, read ford news, and if there is a new model, a bigger engine please!!

  • @drc911 It is going to cease production in late 2011 along with the Crown Victoria and the Grand Marquis but Ford could prolong the Town Cars death.

  • what you call an '83, '84 & an '86 are all '88's..

you don't exactly know yer Lincolns....

  • Lincoin destroyed this car in the past 15 years. It used to have it's own unique style and look, but ever since the late eighties-early nineties they just made it a roundish "blend-in" car.

  • @Z0hann What do you mean make it to a blend in car. Town cars look better today than they did in the 90s the 1998s and up have more room and are more secure. Also they have more horse power than the 90s.

  • @sellweed I meant in looks not power or safety.

To his and his own I guess, I just hate the curvasious looks of them now, I'm a big old boxy car kinda guy. They are not BAD looking, I just prefer other cars over them.

  • @Z0hann Okay on the curvasious design on the 1998-2002 looks ugly. But the 03s have a good design. Let me remind you ever new model the interior of the car is bigger this means the 1981 is the smallest and the 1998 is the biggest. I would never prefer any car over lincoln Town Car. Maybe the MKZ because it just looks very nice in my opinion

  • @ 1:16 my neighbor has this same identical car except his is a 1988. Since the 1st time he let me drive that car, i fell in love with the boxy style. looks better than these newer ones and look a lot damn better than them cadilacs

  • Ah, the best taxi cab and livery car ever. lol. Lincoln should be proud.

  • i now own a 2000, very nice car

  • 1990 MOTORTREND car of the year

  • 1998 lincoln town car signature is the one that i have now and is still running like a brown new car. I don't hear the car ingen at all,i wil not change it for any other.

  • @rafaelc323 Hmm i got a 2000 Lincoln Town Car Signature with 125k miles on it. When i accerate i can hear the engine.

  • im a different adolescent than most so i can say this car ROCKS!!!!!

  • @AUSTiNo426 this will be my first car!!!

  • @xxxthebxxx what year

  • @AUSTiNo426 I found a nice 2000. Looking between 1998-2003

  • @xxxthebxxx ahhh if u dont get a viynal top those are bautiful i have a 1999 tahoe

  • @AUSTiNo426 Nah the one I found is red w/o a vinyl top. Actually now I found an 03 Grand Marquis. Similiar to the Town Car, but cheaper.

  • @xxxthebxxx ahhh same comfert lol

  • @AUSTiNo426 as long as I found one car on the panther platform.

  • if these cars are maintained there bulletproof!

    P.S.-no joke!

  • Bulletproof or just hard to kill...? Dinosaurs don't usually die too easily.... ;-) All kidding aside, I'm a limo driver in the NYC area and as much as I try to hate the Town Car it does have its merits. Its worthless in the snow and could use another 100 horses, but if you are honest-it also makes you wonder what the big deal about Rolls Royce was up until the current Phantom. In the right hands it ride like a dream and it does have a dignified way about it. Sadly, it'll never be my dream car.

  • awesome

  • my grandma has a lincoln town car 2005

  • A well kept secret, worth much more than re-sale value. I don't think Rolls or any other make can bragmuch when it comes to actual quality of workmanship. My 2001 is a simple design with road presence. I get satisfaction in knowing mines is the undisputed king of the American road. Guest riders including the kiddies think they are riding in a limo. Compare to a ratty caddy with peeling interior parts, and all kinda of mechanical demons. All hale the King.........

  • i love it

  • some of the cars are incorrect and this body style started in 1980

  • hod u get all of thge cars...musta taken a while...

  • Lincoln..one of the best cars named after one of the best people.

  • Thanks so much for posting this. I had an '88 that I dearly loved. I still pause and give them a look when I see one of the old girls roll by in good shape.

  • One of longest lasting car ever built. Will outlast any foreign car any giving day.

  • This is the last survivor of the now dead old breed of american cars. The last sign of an industry that could survive making everything on its own and now rebadges euro/jap/kor cars. Alan Mulally please keep the TC on, I adore it.

  • well said.. very well said

  • these dinasours are used as taxis here mostly never private cars.

  • The Lincoln Town Car has to be the finest automobile ever made - classy, safe, comfortable, easy to drive, and luxurious above all. It's true that these cars are popular with the elderly, but take it from a current 20 year old - there isn't another car in the world that I would rather own.

By the way, I hope I don't offend you by saying that there were several mistakes with the 80's models.

  • @LincTownCarFan Yes these cars are the best. But the 03's and up are really nice. Hope they continue this car I hear they want to disscotinue them

  • Well, I'm glad to know that you think so highly of the 03's and up because I own an 06 and word's cannot describe how glad I am to have it.

I also have to admit that I do like the looks of the 88 and 89.

And sadly, you are right...they do want to discontinue them. The Lincoln MKS will replace the Town Car as Lincoln's Flagship Model - it is nowhere near as nice in any aspect and they will regret it.

  • @LincTownCarFan Well isn't Ford bring back the 5.0L for the 2011 Mustang and Lincoln Town Car should be changing the body style along with Navigator, Mark LT in 2012. I think Ford is going to put the 5.0L were it is supose to be in the 2012 Lincoln town car. What do you think?

  • Sellweed, I am very sad to inform you that there won't even be a 2012 Lincoln Town Car because they are scheduled to cease production in September of 2011

The truth is that many current vehicle buyers not wanting a truck or SUV see the Town Car as out of date and would purchase a small sedan with good gas mileage before a larger luxury car. The only ones who still seem to appreciate the Town Car are a great many of the elderly, and people like us who have a taste for style and luxury.

  • There really is no way this could end well even if they weren't replacing the Town Car with the MKS, it would probably be downsized and physically modified to a point where its enthusiast's wouldnt even be able to recognize it anymore. I guess I would rather see it end on a good note than become something not true to itself.

  • In my view, Lincoln Town Cars are far superior to anything else you could currently buy regardless of age and even if it is behind the times I would rather own and drive a car that has proven itself time and time again than something that could possibly be high quality.

  • LincTownCarFan. They killed the Cadillac Deville I think in 05 and replaced it with the 06 DTS. Maybe Town Car won't be discontinued. And the MKS is not Lincoln's future flag ship sedan its just a shame to Lincoln. But I agree with you when you say that Lincoln is far superior to its competion Cadillac
