I actually wrote the whole thing myself. I got bored one night a few days ago, and went to town haha. No cutting, it was just one long MIDI project, I didn't really have any specific plan, just wanted to redo some of the themes.
@nlaningham The writing is pretty cool, but the sound(s) ain't. Mostly. Your take on Zelda's Lullaby is my fav part here, decent sound, beautiful writing.
thanks! Glad you like it. Yeah, the sounds are just standard Garageband junk. Maybe someday I'll be able to do something with more quality sounds, and a better structure. Thanks for your thoughts!
@nlaningham Actually, if you're using GB you've got some decent sounds to work with, just gotta figure out how to best use them and what effects can improve them. I used an older version of GB for a while before Logic, GB can do decent stuff. Just gotta learn what kind of sounds work well together. There's a few free Audio Unit resources out there that you might find useful too, like KORE player, FreeAlpha, and automat, and mda's effects set.
That's good to know! This was actually my first project with Garageband, so I'm just learning the ropes of the program (luckily they aren't too difficult). I'll have to check those recommendations out, I'm always on the hunt for good sounds, so thanks for the heads up!
The songs are all pretty different, did you just cut other ppl's music together or did you write and mix anything yourself?
