you dont have to have a stick to have low gears...low gears can apply to the differential gear ratio and also the transfer case so you can have low gears with an automatic or stick.

Find that hard to believe as there should be almost NO weight on EITHER wheel when its at that angle, almost ALL the weight is on the front so there is none to make either rear wheel really move much either way.
