It's interesting that this concept is discussed in "Cosmic Trigger" by Robert Anton Wilson, and also discusses "plant spirits" which are typically elf/troll/fairy-like, and suggests Mr. Spock is a manifestation of this archetype (and Mr. Nimoy is the one hosting this show on the same subject!!) heh-heh-heh

in myth busters they did the same project. but I think the plants that had listened to metal grew more than the ones with classical music.
