I got attracted to figure skating by the jumps. The one thing which particularly fasscinates me is triple axels by women. Who ever does one in comp. immediately becomes my favorite. I sooo wished Kimmy Meissner could have kept hers going. Back in '94 I wasn't impressed by Tonya Harding, because her skating was just plain not pretty. Midori Ito first got my attention by making the 3-axel look good. Since then there has only been one done by Kimmy, then Mao Asada with countless. What fun!
Midori Ito was in a class of her own at that time technically, apart from Tonya Harding who was explosive when on top form (Nationals 91 & Skate America 91/92). Would have been great to see Kristi perfect the Triple Axel. Was her least favourite triple the salchow? Like Michelle Kwan, lovely triple lutz but hated double axel. Oh please bring back the characters... too monotonous and predictable routines nowadays.
i would give her a 6.0

@barkingtree88 Kristi spins fast in the air but not enough height in her jumps.

This is not true.
Yamaguchi was the competitor of Midori in the field of technic.
Why Japanese TV ilooks down upon Midori?
Midori is the only woman who got full-mark 6.0s both in technic and artistic
