Everyone like me, who felt this song straight to the soul when he was singing it that day, I think it was because of the clear inflection of blues and pain and out-right sadness in the song. It was already a melancholy song, but when he sang it that day, he sang it differently than he ever had or ever will again, because he sang it for his friend. God rest his soul. All his fans carried Michael that day with our black arm bands, just like when Superman died.

At the end of "They Won't Go When I Go" Stevie gets pretty pitchy and goes a little out of key but for some reason it doesn't distract from the song at all. It sounds just as good as if he had hit those notes, you can just tell it's his soul
