It's very stupid that people think a grizzly will leave you stranded. Grizzly's are in the same spot as honda with reliebility, without being decades in the past. Get real guys
I am getting tire of this ranchers cant tow. Its stupid ever since the first 4x4 ( the foreman 350) the mid sized quads have all been rated at 850lbs. I bet if you hook that sucker up, ittl pull just as much as the grizzly. stupid tests that arent even tests, just a video spec comparison thats biased as hell
if u ride a Honda in the real world where u take a grizzly the brake down just as bad as a Polaris......just what i have seen over time from my family's 420s
ive had a 2003 yamaha kodiak 400, not that much different, if u hit deep water the clutchs and belts were slipping and the bike would not move. it also had the push button 4wd thanks to that, i stripped the splines off the front drive shaft 3 times. also on the 03 the cyanoid was under the rear fender, meaning the mud and water from the tires was getting on it which caused it to blow a few times. i sold that and bought a 98 foreman 450 and a rancher 420both bikes r way supperior to the yamaha
@littlebigears007 they do use a drive shaft they just have the transmission in line with the diffs so the can get rid of u joints witch causing longer lasting and less maintenance parts
Yamaha has belts that's y u have high and low Honda is shaft u can shift gears I have that wheeler exact I've hauled a trailer with a canam max with no problem the Honda will last and is 3 times more better than a Yamaha.
notice who put the video yamahamotorUSA. of course their gonnna say its better. anybody with eyes can see that the rancher beats the grizzly in everything about them. Honda has always and will always be the best
You can tell yamaha payed for this comercial !!. Put the same two bikes out with some experiance rides , That DONT work for yamaha !! , and I know that allot of different comment"s would be said. Like the gear trans could rip the in half. With twice the torque of any automatic.
if you were to learn how to drive it would help. a 90 year old man goes faster. i have a honda 420 rancher and i blast throught the trails were as my buddy if he drives the way i do he finds his grizzly tippy. he tryed keeping up put he couldn't got into a corner at 45mph and whip it through the corner with out tipping so honda is the king!!!!!!!!!!.
@chad6286 With only 6 inches of travel and no belts he will leave you behind the second you find some real terrain. Sorry, but even non subjective reviews agree, the Rancher 420 is a bastard child.
both are nice the honda does have the downs with the fourwheeldrive and such and the hondas are good reliable machines but as the yamahas they might have a lot of good features they lack on durability but they are well matched
Own both...and let me tell you, aside from the regular maintenance. Haven't replaced a part on the honda, It great! The most dependable machine you'll find plus the designer and manufacture does a better job at not putting alot extra things on that will either be washed off or break easily...like the yamaha but things happen to unscrew occasionally...pretty annoying...a drop of locktite helps. On the other hand, It's irs is incredible, torque is outstanding, and so is diff lock.
they are both great bikes guys! both dead reliable both fun as hell, as far as cvt's go yamaha has the best but as far as transmisions go the hondas is better on the manual shift, i beat the shit out of my bikes and have never broke anything on either the honda foreman or yamaha rhino!
lets see the videos from yamaha didnt have to watch to know who else there going to try and run into the ground. My 350 honda at 12 years old will still outlast that griz.
you can bet that they will make the rancher look shitty its yamahas damn channel.my rancher goes any where my cousins grizzly goes and its a straight axle foot shift.
the 450 has some great features, but the belt drive really robs the power of the motor. i test drove one the other day and was sorely dissapointed. go for the honda
i dont think the lack of power can completely be blamed on the cvt either. i think this engine is very detuned and its still using a carb. i guess a combination of low powered motor and cvt and the quad just doesn't move very quick at all. it feels like a 300cc or less
Even my old 350 rancher runs circles around my buddies griz on the trails. He is faster in the strait aways, but that's about it. The yammi does climb better and have better ground clearance. You can shift into reverse without taking you hands off the bars on the honda. You cant with the yammi. They are different machines...
grizzly is the king of the towing world and its just flat out beast and we pulled out a ford bronco with it so our can pull out about 6000 pounds so yall reamember that honda articat canam owners
Yamaha "Grizzle" belt drives suck. They slip like a bugger on an ice cube when they get wet. "All terrain"....Really? Honda doesn't use a shitty belt drive for true "all terrain" capability.
hondas are shit, hondas are shit, hondas are shit.yamahas are more powerful and hondas are just not that good, because thay don.t have all the feachers,so year there just not good.
And you have to come to a complete stop for the grizzly to engage in 4 wheel drive just like the honda. And are you really that freakin lazy that you dont want to "take your hands off the handle bars" to engage 4 wheel drive? If you are then you shouldn't be riding. And if you ask me, i'd rather maually put it in 4 wheel drive like the honda's versus pushing an electric button which could short out and leave you stranded out in the woods.
Quit acting like Yamaha is so much better then honda when it aint. I also noticed that yall didnt say anything about the difference in power between the two bikes. that probably because the hondas are more powerful.
Yall are dumbass. First of all the wet brake sucks and it is a pain in the ass to change when is get wore out. The cigarette lighter is an option on the honda rancher and obiviously yall didnt want it to make the honda seem like a piece of shit. And Honda keeps the 5 speed manual shift because it allows more direct power to the tires. I have a friend and his Yamaha 450 grizzly has 26in outlaws and it gets bogged down all the time. My honda 420 that has the same tires never gets bogged down.
Honda's shaft drive doesn't care if it gets wet. It will still just keep on pulling. Yamaha's belt drive will slip and squeel until it starts to cry "That's not fair". Now, "which one would you rather ride"?? I want the one that won't leave me stranded 10 miles in the swamp with a burned out belt drive. So much for Yamaha's "all terrain vehicle". Honda OWNS the ATV market.....Period!!!!!!
They are both good quads and they are almost equal in performance. Each quad has one or two things that are better then the other, but this is what makes them equal. For instance the Honda's engine will last longer (if you take care of it), and the Yamaha's suspension and frame is better. Of course neither of these is much better, so it all comes down to which you feel the best on. Honda's and Yamaha's have always been my first choice. Now I want to see a video that's not bias!
I don't care what everyone says "Oh honda is the best" no it's not hahaha, my friend has the same quad in this video and it's shit, the reverse blows, the transmission is shit, and it's the most complicated system out there, worst 4wd also, yamaha definitely beats this one without a doubt.
good luck with that yamaha cause this is rigged!! if they wanna lie bout it then ok but good luck with that transmission. who would put a BELT on a 4 wheeler??? hen it gets wet it just slips you fucktards
I have a grizzly 350 and my neighbor has a honda rancher 350.. his has a 12v outlet, my grizzly doesnt.. where you stand on the honda, you get great grip on your shoes/boots.. not on my grizzly! I'm constantly slipping off... and, the 4wd on the grizzly doesnt fully disengage most of the time and makes a loud BANG!
o here let me add a few things u 4got efi,no shity cvt low is called first gear, shift on the fly,and the legenday honda durability thumbs up if u agree
I just sold my Grizzly 660 yesterday, I'll never have a Yamaha again. It had 7000 miles on it and it was riden on a farm. It wans't dependable at all. Everything broke and I didn't even ride it hard! My buddy has a Honda 500 and he's got 10000 miles on it and he hasn't replaced a single bearing! I'm buying a 2008 Honda Rancher 420 4x4 next!
i cant stand these automatic and electric shift 4 wheelers do they even make foot shifts anymore i cant find them any anymore? all they sell at my bike shop are damn automatics and ES
Ive got ride time on both quads. I own a '11 foot shift rancher 4x4 and started out riding my friend's grizz 450. The only things honda has on yamaha in every catagory is durability and they dont use shitty ass belt drive cvt's. Everything else yamaha takes the cake. My rancher gets hung up alot because of the sra. Yes, the sra is better for taking corners at higher speeds and provides a more stable feeling ride, but tge ground clearance is a joke. but I traded features for durability. Thats it
@bobcats330 hahaha sweet... Who all agrees if he doesn't like the auto on the rancher he can always use manual? He's such a retard I always use manual for tougher spots... smh
i like both of them. i aint a hater like most people.but i like the grizz more because of low center of gravity, more ground clearance, and my favorite diff lock. dont get me wrong the honda does have a great engine strong body and suspension but some of the things they need to circle and put on.
I love the Grizzs, but when he said Honda doesn't have a high low range that's kinda bs, I mean, if you shift, you can select a low gear or a high gear
I have both of these ATV's, and will attest that this video was accurate in its comparisons. Of course, being an advertisement, it leaves out the benefits of the rancher, like the extreme dependability, stability, and general toughness. I love both wheelers, but prefer the grizzly on the rocky terrain. I like the rancher better for pulling stuff around.
just bought a new green rancher w/out the auto bs and power steering, oh AND ITS FUEL INJECTED AND WATER COOLED!!!! IM 14 AND I HAVE RIDDEN IT OVER HILLS, ROCKS, AND TREES WITH NO PROBLEM! I have a 16 foot trailer i pull in the spring, it weighs about 1,500 lbs and it pulls no problem. stopping is hard with the trailer. And who wants to shift when you're in deep ruts and almost sideways, umm.... everyone thats not 70 plus years old....?
haha heres an idea, have a good driver on the yamaha and have a retard on the honda so it appears to be shitty, i own a rancher with mudlites and piped, and ill put it up against any bike in the mud.
Honda is the best! I know from experience!!I have a 1991 Honda trx 200, my buddy has a yamaha grizzly 350 and we was riding and I went through a big water hole just fine and when he went in it killed over!by the way he has a lot more ground clearance than me!!get a Honda!!!
first of all Honda has two storage places. Plus the tires after they wear out just buy new ones with more tread. I personally have carried a full grown man weighing around 300 pounds (going up and down steep mountain sides) on both the front and back cargo racks on the Honda Rancher. The Honda Rancher can cost up to 6,300, the Yamaha can cost up to 9,500.
halarious thats why my buddies grizzly is in the shop and my rancher is still rolling. All these gear changing problems and power steering issues, have`nt experienced yet.But hey you gotta go after #1
i had a 05 rubicon 500, for 3 1/2 years, now got a 08 grizzly 700 for over 2 years. both are great bikes. what i missed on the honda was the drive shaft no belt. the belt on mine was startin to slip, but it didnt break like ya rug rat rednecks say. both are great bikes, why be hatin bastard rednecks and make peace like we country people and city people do?
pros and cons to both. both will have tranny problems. hondas tranny has been having truble since they went to that auto shift crap and the yamaha will be burning belts for ever. i personally like the shifter on the yamaha better for alot of fwd and back stuff just faster to use. but the push botton 4wd on the yamaha will probly prove with age that it will have to be fixed being electrical and when it gets dumped over. nether better just what you prefer.i will stay with real gears in older atvs
Wow did you kno that Yamaha made this video, so they are going to everything they can to make the rancher look bad but in reality the Rancher can kill that little ol' grizzly. I own a 1997 Honda 4x4 and I haven't had to do anything to it but regular maintenance and still to this day it runs and looks like it just came off the show room floor, so Honda all the way :)

BamMargera4231 8 months ago
Ive got ride time on both quads. I own a '11 foot shift rancher 4x4 and started out riding my friend's grizz 450. The only things honda has on yamaha in every catagory is durability and they dont use shitty ass belt drive cvt's. Everything else yamaha takes the cake. My rancher gets hung up alot because of the sra. Yes, the sra is better for taking corners at higher speeds and provides a more stable feeling ride, but tge ground clearance is a joke. but I traded features for durability. Thats it
goodkat8567 8 months ago
were does it talk about carberation becase the rancher hasEFI and the grizzly is carberated

@bobcats330 hahaha sweet... Who all agrees if he doesn't like the auto on the rancher he can always use manual? He's such a retard I always use manual for tougher spots... smh

this shit is funny, only an idiot would believe all his bullshit!
02autogt 9 months ago
i like both of them. i aint a hater like most people.but i like the grizz more because of low center of gravity, more ground clearance, and my favorite diff lock. dont get me wrong the honda does have a great engine strong body and suspension but some of the things they need to circle and put on.
LeeLeefritz93 9 months ago
Honda will own a grizzly any day!
gutu50390 9 months ago
im sure the honda isnt as bad as they are making out here, after all it is a promotional video
justscorpion1 9 months ago
I love the Grizzs, but when he said Honda doesn't have a high low range that's kinda bs, I mean, if you shift, you can select a low gear or a high gear

what a pile of shit Yamaha
maxis986 10 months ago
I have both of these ATV's, and will attest that this video was accurate in its comparisons. Of course, being an advertisement, it leaves out the benefits of the rancher, like the extreme dependability, stability, and general toughness. I love both wheelers, but prefer the grizzly on the rocky terrain. I like the rancher better for pulling stuff around.
skeet25s 10 months ago
this video is complete bulshit maybe if they had a guy that knew how to drive then the rancher would be alot better

just bought a new green rancher w/out the auto bs and power steering, oh AND ITS FUEL INJECTED AND WATER COOLED!!!! And who wants to shift when you're in deep ruts and almost sideways, umm.... everyone thats not 70 plus years old....?
hillbillyhunter3320 10 months ago
Honda rocks. Binut is is bad vs yamaha.the only thing about yamaha is that it is ugly
lilJayer1 10 months ago

Redneck77536 10 months ago
haha heres an idea, have a good driver on the yamaha and have a retard on the honda so it appears to be shitty, i own a rancher with mudlites and piped, and ill put it up against any bike in the mud.

WHY WOULD YOU WANT POWERSTEERING ON A 4 WHEELER??? NOW THATS LAZY!!! HONDA IS MADE FOR A REAL MAN!!!
MrAndrewpuckett 10 months ago
Honda is the best! I know from experience!!I have a 1991 Honda trx 200, my buddy has a yamaha grizzly 350 and we was riding and I went through a big water hole just fine and when he went in it killed over!by the way he has a lot more ground clearance than me!!get a Honda!!!
CountryBoy102194 10 months ago
Yamaha is the best 4-wheeler. its a fact.
parakkaman 10 months ago
first of all Honda has two storage places. Plus the tires after they wear out just buy new ones with more tread. I personally have carried a full grown man weighing around 300 pounds (going up and down steep mountain sides) on both the front and back cargo racks on the Honda Rancher. The Honda Rancher can cost up to 6,300, the Yamaha can cost up to 9,500.
theswimer419 10 months ago
halarious thats why my buddies grizzly is in the shop and my rancher is still rolling. All these gear changing problems and power steering issues, have`nt experienced yet.But hey you gotta go after #1
04tsxpower 11 months ago
i had a 05 rubicon 500, for 3 1/2 years, now got a 08 grizzly 700 for over 2 years. both are great bikes. what i missed on the honda was the drive shaft no belt. the belt on mine was startin to slip, but it didnt break like ya rug rat rednecks say. both are great bikes, why be hatin bastard rednecks and make peace like we country people and city people do?
countrydude03 11 months ago
pros and cons to both. both will have tranny problems. hondas tranny has been having truble since they went to that auto shift crap and the yamaha will be burning belts for ever. i personally like the shifter on the yamaha better for alot of fwd and back stuff just faster to use. but the push botton 4wd on the yamaha will probly prove with age that it will have to be fixed being electrical and when it gets dumped over. nether better just what you prefer.i will stay with real gears in older atvs
blownutsmyass 11 months ago
Who gets a automatic 4wheeler anyway? and Honda has no low/high range? its called damn 1st and 5th gear. Yamaha can suck balls
thismycityldv 11 months ago
@honda450foreman yea I agree Yamaha is shit
grambino123 11 months ago
Wow did you kno that Yamaha made this video, so they are going to everything they can to make the rancher look bad but in reality the Rancher can kill that little ol' grizzly. I own a 1997 Honda 4x4 and I haven't had to do anything to it but regular maintenance and still to this day it runs and looks like it just came off the show room floor, so Honda all the way :)
