@07087joenj I don't care if this song is a classic...and I've been right here all along, This music IS NOT IN the film "Wuthering Heights" 1939. To show these stills while playing music not composed for the film is not my cuppa.
You can read my response to @AdeleCorrenti, directly below.
@Ladybug1923 you wont understand it unless you know the story behind the song. Its an amazing story of heartbreak, crime and death its something really special if you dont like reading then please watch the film its super intense. A story that will never die
Here is why I said "Is this music a joke?"...because this music is NOT in the movie Wuthering Heights (1939) with Oberone and Olivier. I revere this movie and have seen it at least 100 times. To play any other music than what was composed for the film is heretical, in my opinion.
They Never managed to get "Wutherings Heights" into a movie afterwards.Although this versions is very very different from Emilys Story ( they leave out the children, who are very important to the storie) it is still the best due to Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon, who were perfect matches to Heathcliff and Cathy.
what a wonderful video!!! I have read the book (Wuthering Heights, or Orkanski visovi in my, croatian language), and I love it. I've never seen the film, but I think I'll search for it now ;) thank you
Although the monologue was lifted from the book, I think you'll find the characters in the movie to be substantially different. In the book, Bronte alluded to Heathcliff being Catherine's illegitimate half-brother, you wont find that in this 1939 version (never would have made it past the censors). Although there was a PBS series a few years back which was much more faithful to the novel, this is still my favorite movie.
Yes, my ancestor wrote the novel. I hope to follow in her footsteps soon with a blockbuster novel about love in the southwest in the 1950's. By the way, what is the name of this song? ~ Kathy
Your video is great and I've given you 5 stars. Please check out my latest clip of 1930's movie icon trading cards when you have time: Merle Oberon, Clark Gable, Joan Crawford, Ginger Rogers, Heather Angel, Shirley Temple, Greta Garbo, Katharine Hepburn...and lots more.

It's me "Ladybug1923".
This music is a joke TO ME, because it was NOT COMPOSED FOR THIS FILM.
In MY opinion, it's like hearing "Three Little Fishies" while showing stills from "JAWS"

Heathcliffe - a man of passion
Cathy - a wild girl
The Moors - a barren setting.
Their love - the decoration of that bleak place.
Jealous moors, jealous love.
Cruel love and passion
Its fabulous!!!
