Nicely done . I just took the plunge two weeks ago and made my first ALL Grain brew in a 1 bedroom apt lol. One lesson learned never brew smashed LOL. I am waiting to move it to secondary . What makes it really special is I used my whole first year hop harvest in it. If it turns out I will have to send you a bottle. I figure if people in New Zealand can I should be able to. I love hearing the glugging and bubbling of all the airlocks in your brew area . Anyways cheers mate!!!
i would be careful. it will not only make you blind it could kill you if done wrong trust who is makeing that stuff because the could kill you literally. its called Formaldehyde, your a smart guy look it up.
On account of my unfourtunete birth i would be more that welcome to drink that beer as opposed to the crap i have to drink here at the foster home, its a mixture of puke and llama milk, not the best
Congrats on it coming out ok.. never dump a brew.. all that work .. and you don't have to do nothing to wait to see if it's going to turn out.. great video craig.. I started my own homebrew wednesdays, on my second ;0) check it out. cheers
The coolest thing about your broken beer experience, is that it shows us newbs that even the old pros make mistakes, and with this ONE BEER, you made every mistake in the book.
never throw away beer. Even if you get an infection, it may still turn out ok. You'll just have a sour beer...lol I am actually starting to get into sours more. I am actually planning on brewing a few coming up in December or January and letting them sit for a while. I am going to get a few carboys and create a pipeline of sours that can sit for year (potentially) and see what happens. NEVER THROW AWAY BEER! it might turn out great....lol
Hi Craig! love your video's ;D got one question.... I am fermenting some cider and I would like to ask you if I can add more sugar, while it is fermenting?
I am 90% sure those spirits were made by adding flavouring to 'fermented sugar water' brewed with turbo yeast. If I am wrong, please reply to this and let me know how he made them.
@kyral210 You're almost certainly correct, Wikipedia says that in Australia you need a license to even own a still, and the tax on homebrew spirits is in excess of $71AUD per litre.
@kyral210 You are right. In the letter he says that the flavourings are made by Still Spirits. Still Spirits are a New Zealand company that specialise in making home distilling products such as spirit essences that one adds to a neutral spirit produced using turbo yeast, water, dextrose, yeast nutrient, liquid carbon and of course a still.
use the irish whiskey to make a "hot whiskey" the perfect way to enjoy it and it will warm you up on a cold winters night. Its also how i drink my bushmills whiskey
@CDMJDMHHC Technically, "souring mash" means that during the All Grain process of mashing grains, you leave the mash in the mash tun over night at the mash temperature. Lactobacillus lives on the grains naturally, and can operate at mash temps... after 24 hours, the mash is "sour". I'm going to be experimenting with sour beers very soon; I love them! 17!
Make sure you save some of that rum for Christmas eve Craig! Rum and eggnog Christmas eve is always in order around here! Cheers!
