It's hard for me to fathom Paul Rodgers becoming a member of Queen... it's like 2 ends of the music spectrum in the genre of rock.... and even more so him ever doing anything with Deep Purple. All are fabulously wonderful.... but, just not the best fit IMO.
mailbox827is perfectly right. I never liked that stadium rock Queen. Only the black and the white album. Radio Gaga music is bullshit mainstram. Blackmore did not want for nothing to become Rodgers the successor of Ian Gillan in 1974. Rodgers declined and founded Bad Company.
This is light years better than the pantyhose pop of the old Queen. They should have ditched the old band name when PR joined and got a new name ...... something like "Free Again"?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@mailbox827 I totally agree with you The queen name is associated with homosexuality and Freddie although a great showman was a crap role model and killed himself with his GAY SEXUAL EXPLOITS etc and PR is a good rocking hetro dude with much higher morals than Freddie!
Freddie was bisexual. I never really gave a damn about what he did outside of the studio or off of the stage. He & Paul Rodgers are both elite vocalists & showmen. Why make a big deal about the stigmas he gave the band in naming it? Honestly, it seems like a waste of time to me.
It's a shame you didn't make it to the Vancouver gig, Grant. I was standing next to the person who shot this. A fantastic treat for the Vancouver crowd on the last gig of the North American tour.
at a free outdoor show! then after the show paul ,howard and the band,
did a meet and greet outside the art center in the parking lot and sang a song with the orginal drummer of bob segers band who was t-boned by a drunk driver and let him paralyzed in a wheelchair, his drean was to someday meet paul which happen! peace, light and love to all. PAUL is the BEST
Yeah, this was the final date on their North American Tour in 2006. I saw them in Washington D.C. at the MCI (now Verizon) Center. They had fooled around with this song in sound checks...this is the only night they ever played this song.
Hey, I was at the DC show, too! I felt for Brian, he worked so hard to get the audience worked up. You could tell he was frustrated. Then he fell into that hole--scared me to death! But eventually the audience got into it, esp. when they broke into "Alright Now." Ah, March 9th, 2006...
thanks for posting this. Just wondering if they might do a cover of this on the new album?? It's supposed to have a cover on it. Hope so! Some great guitar from brian.
I'm hoping so. Their press release revealed that they recorded a cover. I think them doing a cover of this would be pretty sweet. As this video shows. Queen can play the blues with the best of them.
brian playing blues that's new i love paul's voice
