I think our best bet is with a Republican president, at least the next term. Obama is a bad president because he behaves almost exactly same as a Republican president. Electing someone to the right of him would be taking a bad thing and making it even worse.
If you think Obama is socialist, by all means give an example of something socialist he has done. Last I checked, he hasn't pushed for workers owning the means of production. His policies generally assume that the economy is driven by supply, rather than demand - this is what conservatives do, and it is wrong.
