@TheThreeeggs Its a horse that you get from the Dark Brotherhood questline. To join the Dark Brotherhood you need to go to Windhelm and find the Aretino residence. You'll find an orphan who thinks you are an assassin, then you talk to him and accept the quest "Innocence Lost". Once you complete "Innocence Lost", a courier will give you a strange note. After you receive the note, sleep, and you will get abducted by the Dakr Brotherhood. From there you do the questline, and Shadowmere is given.

@BlackMamba246 Normally you choose Khajiit or Dark Elf, Khajiit has +10 sneak, +5 lockpicking and pickpocketing and +5 archery and one handed. Dark Elves have +5 sneak illusion alchemy alteration and light armour, they also have +10 destruction. Dark Elves could be good for a assassin mage, but Khajiit is the best race in my opinion for a good all out assassin/thief.
