  • Star Ocean 3, Tales of Symphonia 1, and Persona 4 are the best ps2 rpg games ever......

Nuff said......*sniff* "gawd i love these games"

  • Some people hated the game due to the challenge and lack of skill. Really did test u

  • Always loved this intro. Game didn't live quite up to my expectations though, but still a far better experience than Last Hope after it.

  • effing awesome! XD

  • FOREVER STAR OCEAN TILL THE END OF TIME !!

  • I notice the similarity between the intro of this game and the intro of STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE.

  • lol every single voice actor in this game all appear in different shows and games together

  • I liked this game, the story was good but it good ridiculously weird gameplay and level design wise near the end.

  • The thing about this game is that THERE IS EVERY VOICE ACTOR FROM LUCKY STAR!!! which i love i didnt even know that until i was too late.....actually im going to play it agian now

  • This is my Halo.

This is my Call of Duty.

    This is Art.

This is what true gaming is all about. I hold this game in the same legendary classical regard as I do for Zelda Ocarina of Time, and Ive never been so enthralled by any game since. 600 hours on multiple playthroughs. I can say with almost certainty that I will never again be so enthralled by a game for the rest of my life.

Star Ocean 3: I'll be playing Till The End of Time

  • @TheAlpha5000 Don't hate the game just 'cuz you die a lot. I died a lot too in the Game.

    Level up or something. o_o

  • I still don't know how I feel about this game. It started well then bored me to death, then when those guys from the future finally attack where you are it got interesting, but it was too late for me to care.

Plus 10 characters for only 3 in battle, lopsided.

For some reason I didn't feel it like I did in Star Ocean 1 & 2

  • @USCHoodman I don't think you have a good grasp at the story. People from the future? To my knowledge there isn't any time travel in Star Ocean tteot.

10 characters when you only have 3 in battle is quite common in rpg, you can choose who you have in battle, it should be a positive point unless you always want the same characters.

  • @USCHoodman They didn't come from the future. You are on a under developed planet.

    lol.

  • I only just remembered the good times i had when i played this game. And now, im buying the ps2 again just to play this game. Star Ocean series forever

  • 0 dislikes :) This game is a masterpiece :)

  • @K1arke

The rating is for the video, not the game. The intro is fine if not interesting, but the game is laughably far from a masterpiece.

  • THE STATUE OF LIBERTY IS FLOATING ON AN ISLAND IN MID AIR! Why can't Earth be like that now?! whywhywhywhy????

  • this was the first rpg game i ever played. and it got me hooked on rpg's and mmo's. but i always come back to CLIFF FITTER!!!!!!! pure epicness <3

  • this game is soo long and hard

  • Argh. Stop referring to him as "Fate." His name is F-A-Y-T. Fayt. Fayt Leingod.

    F-A-Y-T. Fayt. Simple, yes? :(

  • @Elena9535 In Japan, he was called Fate Linegod. They changed his name and others when they ported this game to the US because of unspecified reasons.

  • star ocean is an epic game, one of my faviourite RPG's up there with Persona 3 and Okami ^ ^

  • Who would like this Star ocean made into anime?

  • astounding animation in this intro and they managed to get motoi sakuraba to compose their music. Star Ocean team really beasted it out on this game

  • I do love most of FFx but to be honest this under rated game was one of the best games I ever played and will ever, I finished the game over 10 times and sadly my game doesn't work anymore and I can't find it anymore :( it would be great if they did one on PS3 or 360 just for the old times sake...... Star Ocean i'll be loyal till the end of time !

  • @Nihhuz Hey, I know you said that 2 months ago, but I have a question for you since you have played it. Is the second disk important? And if so, how long until you get to it? Please reply! (:

  • @SymphoniaFan101 Hey there ! well at first i had the same problem :P but yeah you sure do need Disk two but it will take you a little while till you get there, about the time you get to that second disk i can't be precise but i finished the whole game in about 36 hours maybe a bit more, i guess you'll be able to get to the second disk in about 16-18 hours of progress in the game :)

good luck and sorry for replying little late i just noticed it :D !

  • @Nihhuz Ok, thank you! I'm glad that you're not one of those people who yell at you for replying after a month. xD (:

  • @SymphoniaFan101 Nah i'm not that kind of person :P and feel free to ask hehe :) have fun with the game

  • @Nihhuz Ok then, I have another. Whats with the Fury gauge? Am I right that you have to wait for it too refill? Cause I'm finding that to pretty much ruin the game....

  • @SymphoniaFan101 I'm afraid i have to be reminded of that "Fury gauge" but if its an ability to hit something I think your talk about the hit where Fate strikes an attack with a sword swing pulling it to 180 degree (half circle) which you must continue pressing the same button over three times to have the full attack

but anyway i hope i'm not talking about the same thing you asked me about xD

but if not please tell me what is it exactly your talking about :P so i can explain it

  • MUST

    BE

    PORTED

    TO

    PS3

    OR

    360

    >:O!

  • @KevinScottFries

    JUST

    BUY

    PS2

    GAME

    tada!

  • One of the best intros in the RPG history hands down. Star Ocean: TTEoT is a fucking masterpiece of a game.

  • One day, I was playing this and watching Star Trek Enterprise and the warp sequences synced up, then I realized how oddly similar the intros were.

  • Hope Will Be See Fayt Leingod Again With The New Enemy

  • This looks ghoulishly like a combination of 2001: A Space Odyssey and Final Fantasy XII.

  • man, did i hate this game....

  • @angelsface200 The "cut scenes" are so awkward! XD

  • i wonder why this had a lack of CGI cinematic? its only like 3 in the whole game lol. the beginning...in the middle ( and as i recall its very short) and im going to assume the ending is CGI also i forget its been a while.

  • sometime i wish i live in a game.

  • How I wish I could live to see such things.

  • I recently got this game, and I wonder, do you even go to Earth or go through a high tech city like in this intro like 1:23 high tech New York? Cause it seems like you are stuck on that medieval style world and not go to any advance looking places

  • @deckire Not really... There is some futuristic levels on space stations and such later, but for the most part its medieval throughout.

  • When I first got this out from the video store, put the disc in the PS2 and saw this, I knew I'd be in love. This game is a master piece and is so underrated!

  • Yea I got this for ps and it's buggy....It's like the frezzee for 2mins after every word

  • @GutJordan That's normal, The cutscenes are just awkwardly done... XD

  • So this is the game I've been dreaming of.

  • Best game but I wonder why they did all these series in different order.

  • Yeah this is the ps2 game ever ! I've haven't found any rpg this damn difficult on ps2 so far. If you can unlock 4D Freya is a BITCH to beat lol.

  • Probably the best intro ever

  • this is part 3 of star ocean? i ask because i started playing this.

  • @Mrjohnhicks1 Yeah the second story is on the PS1 another great game and the first one only came out in Japan on the Snes which is also a great game, and there's a translation to english which has been made for that anyway. There's another relese in Japan on the Gameboy apparently which came out after 2 I think and before 3. Alpha or blue shift something along those lines. There's also some re-releases on the PSP come to think of it.

  • star oceans is the next to final fantasy

  • it too damn bad star ocean the director's cut is never coming out in the U,S on english i like to see this game over he

  • @hateUhuman The English version of the game was the directors cut.

  • u kidding me seriously i did not know that but we are talking about the PS2 U.S version of star ocean right the 1 that came out in 2004 in the U.S.A

  • @hateUhuman Yes the original game did't sell to well in Japan because of the flaws that caused it to not work with a lot of PS2's so the directors cut fixed that as well as added new game-play and thats the version that was released outside of Japan.

  • @jbriggs06 did the JP version have these flaws? I heard the us did, but I'm not sure about the original NTSC-J one.

  • @cemetary665isVictor The JP version is the only one with flaws it was also only one disc. The directors cut was 2 disc and it didn't have any problems playing.

  • @jbriggs06 Really? cause the US one had a release before that wasn't a director's cut . Anyway I just needed to know cause I had just ordered the import and heard about this soon after.

  • @cemetary665isVictor No, the only copy released outside of Japan was the directors cut. Thats why its 2 disc. Only the directors cut was 2 disc. The original came out in Japan with only one disc.

  • @jbriggs06 Oh ok I didn't know, but it's just random freezes right? Would it even matter on a modded ps2 slim?

  • @cemetary665isVictor It wasn't just freezes the original version didn't work at all with SCPH-10000 PlayStation 2s. So even if it did play it would be very buggy. However, the original version in Japan fell out of print right after the directors cut came out so I doubt you'd find any copy anyway.

  • i wish another SO was made in this exact date(772),showing unvisited planets in this SO like vendeen an aldian home world

  • one of my favorite games,a classic indeed

  • This was one of my favorite RPGs to play. I did manage to finish it. It was hard in some places but I stuck with it since I wanted to see the ending. I still have the game so I might decide some day to play it again.

  • Reminds me of the intro of 2001: A Space Odyssey

  • this game is super long even though after you beat the game it still have hidden parts to play

  • @chongvang916 yup took me a while just to BEAT the game (kill luther) but ive never finished it

  • I want to believe that this will be our future someday. Star Date 1, we may have warp engines?

This game is a true atheist game. To me, its the best game I ever played but also a story of the most imagination I ever seen. I wondered of our future and we may have hover cars, a moon base, gravitic warp spaceships, and aliens or humanoids discovered, and more planets we can travel to. We'd have like the movie the Fifth Element, Futurama, and Star Wars. Best game I ever call in my life.

  • @Johny2662 calm down johny. even if all those futuristic things ever get built, it'll be way after your lifetime. anyways we'll all probably nuke each other before we get this far anyways

  • dis of all the staroceans is the deepest into the future b/c its sd 772

  • Please answer this question: Is Star Ocean anything like Final Fantasy? I am a huge RPG fan:-)

  • It's more like the Tales series as the action is in real time, but unlike the Tales, the map is in 3D.

Yes it does share some FF elements like great story, memorable characters, swords, magic, big bosses, etc.

  • The intro is literally the only good thing about this trainwreck of a game.

  • S.D. = Star Date. S.D. 1 was the year that first warp engine was used.

  • I remember when this came out, I was excited cause I had never played an star ocean. i have always been a huge rpg fan but I couldnt get into this for some reason, i think it was the gameplay =p but the story was awesome

  • @nemoisafishyx Same here I returned it the next day as a matter of fact.

  • This intro is epic. Makes me wish I would have been born hundreds of years in the future.

  • One of m favorite RPGs , this intro is just an excellent way to introduce the player to the SO universe. Too bad you don't actually get to visit Earth!

  • I bought this game about a year ago and i really enjoyed it but i could never get very far because my memory kept being erased for some reason, i could never figure out why :/

  • I think its funny how it shows earth in the intro. You NEVER get to be on earth at all in the game xD

  • In all the Star Ocean's you are never on Earth. Though you do see the Earth in the cutscenes later on in the game (aside from the intro).

  • yeah you see it getting demolished by the Enforcers xD

  • your on it for a while in SO4

  • one of the best games I have played I would rank it just below ff 7, great story, tons of game play, this game is very under rated, should be one of the best games of playstation 2 and all time classic

  • @zague5 i quite agree

  • @zague5 So far this IS my favourite PS2 game. Very good indeed and as you say, it is underrated. Ive no idea how the newer one fares though as I haven't seen it yet.

  • @zague5 I only wish the dialogue could have been better in the English version. Still my favorite PS2 game of all time, though.

  • @Nivarios If you think the dialogue in this game sucks, I doubt you've played any Final Fantasy games. xD Talk about cringe-worthy.

I actually thought the dialogue was fairly good in this game, albeit the beginning is a tad rocky.

  • @Elena9535 I was referring more to the timing and enunciation. It's pretty evident that the lines were read individually, without any interaction between the voice actors. I hate that.

  • @zague5 is that good?? I just started it and I don't like it so much, i just played first departure and second evolution and i think that this is the worst Star Ocean, it gets better?

  • @zague5 which characters would you say are the best characters in the game that are optional? I know that some are optional and you do certain stuff to get different ones, but I wanna start a new game to get the characters I want(though I don't want Peppita, since I personally find her annoying)

  • @Lukefonfabre9 i haven't played the game in a long time but i remember maria being one of the most powerful characters late game. She had the capability of becoming very powerful late game theres some weapon combinations and what not online.

  • @questtofreedom but isn't she one of the characters that you get no matter what? I'm asking which ones you think are the optional ones, like Peppita, Roger, Adray, Albel, Nel, etc.?

  • @zague5 oh this is a tad bit better than ff7

  • @zague5 lol another one throwing final fantasy 7 as the top rpg game of all time give me a break final fantasy 7 was good but not that good there are tons of games that exceed gameplay an storyline wise intellectually of the past finalfansy 8,crono cross, legend of the dragoon, star ocean, final fantasy tactics, all the legend of zelda games ,crono trigger, lufia 1 n 2 all breath of fires an way way more games people been crying for a remake ff7 why play the same game when a sequel would be better.

  • hey guys im big rpg fan got ff games from to 12 ive heard gd things about this game is it long and worth getting?

  • Great game. Still have yet to finish it though. Still think they coulda come up with a better name for the executioners though.

  • S.D = some day?

  • Star Date

  • Space date.

  • I just played Star Ocean Till the End of Time and its really good!

  • so ive always wondered when they say S.D. 772 what does the S.D. stand for?

  • i think it means date after space departure

  • S.D. = Star Date

  • Amazing game.

  • This game was like a real anime to me.

It was like, "One Piece in Space." :D

  • i love this game!!!

  • this game kicks ass i got al of them so far except the last hope dont got a 360 not geting one

  • i havent really gotten into star ocean but i thnk imma start with this one. hopefully squenix decides to release the last hope for the ps3 like dey originally planned on doing

  • I never tried this game, but I have star ocean 4(the last hope) and its awesome!

  • Long live the Cetra.....oops wrong game lol.

  • i agree with you, i LOVE this series. I played over 1000 hours of this game and still want to play more. ^^ cant wait for SO4 to come out. XD

  • I FUCKIN LOVE STAR OCEAN! This has to be one of my Favorite RPGs of all time. I remember i was so hooked on this game i just couldnt put it down for one second! Great game, looking foward to Star Ocean 4

  • I really liked this game at least they showed you what earth was looking like finally. Even though the battle system got screwed it was still overall an excellent game.

  • I love this intro! It's so moving. The dramatic beautiful music, the visuals, it's soooo beautiful! It just makes you want to play the game more. The itself was pretty good, but it was kind of hard for me, but I eventually beat it, lol.

  • love this game but wish it was a little open to more places

  • Graphics are great and I heard the story is cool too...well, I really didn't expect anything less from Square Enix.

  • I understand the gaame and Boy was it good too

  • It's a brilliant start to the game...

TOO BAD YOU NEVER GET TO FUCKING SEE IT AGAIN!!!

  • @Suzaku000 You do if you wait at the main title.

  • @TheSuperduck23

You don't understand what I was getting at. Most of the game has you romping around on a 17th century world, and it doesn't pick the whole sci-fi bit back up until some time in the latter half of the first disc, and then gets back in the sci-fi world in the second disc. Regardless, you never actually go to earth, so you never get to fully relish in the awesome sci-fi universe they set up.

  • @Suzaku000 Alright... you are right. Too bad you don't stay around in the AWESOME sci-fi places!

  • Best game ever. _One of the best games for the PS2. Way better than any Tales game.

  • I like that the statue of liberty is still around in the future and looking good! Now if only that city will be there when I wake up from cryostasis...

  • ...hmm i had played the last games of star ocean on ps1 looooong ago^^...i hope this star ocean will be much better..

  • one of my most fav games, changed me alot.

  • amazing...

  • u also get ur own space ship/air ship that u can fly in space and around planets and land. There are also pics of star ocean 4 where u get an air board thatu can fly in the sky and in cities..... this is supposed to be square enixs' longest game ever created yet.

  • in star ocean 4 u get to go to that capital city in the star ocean 3 intro and u get to explore it like u would explore a city in grand theft auto

  • for real!? sounds great, loved this one.

  • I loved this game now i just cant wait until Star Ocean 4 :D:D:D:D

  • The best intro ever

  • I bought that game cause there was nothing else to play in 2004 (I'm not crazy for Halo and I didn't play San Andreas until 2006) And it impressed the hell out of me. The best game I ever played for the year of 2004. Hands down fan of the series now. Awaiting the next one.

  • best opening to a game EVER :D

  • i have it i beat it i love it

  • When you were describing the infor and said "starts out boring but gets better after the first few seconds or so" I thought you were talking about the game itself, lol. Thank you for uploading!

  • best game
