He was so miserable and unhappy with drugs and everything else in his life, he thought marrying Renate would cure all his problems cause they both loved music and had a lot in common. He loved her, enjoyed having sex with her, was attracted to her etc but he really wanted to be with men. Also he toured a lot and they were estranged for so long and also Elton's life style got to both of them. Renate was a great wife and supportive but it wasn't enought to turn him straight.

This is truly the work of a legend at the top of his game, for me this performance is quite simply amazing. His voice is so clear, so full of passion and you can see from his words at the beggining just how much Elton really does appreciate all his fans. "Your Song" has always been a particular favourite of mine, more so now after hearing this performance, BRAVO Sir Elton!! 10/10.

Hi ZaoKid,

Elton John was married to Renaute Blauel on Valentine's day in Sydney. They later divorced after both agreeing that Elton could no longer keep up the pretence of being Bisexual. Glad you enjoyed the performance, for me this is truly the most wonderful song in the world.
