@Adnan88ification Rumi was an Afghan Persian, Iranians Called him from Iran, coz they believe Afghanistan was part of Iran which is a lie.We have always been separate and except sometimes that they invaded these areas, and same thing Afghans invaded them too. But that time Afghanistan and Iran were under Ariyana, and later they became Fars and we became Khorasan, which were two different empires.even the word Persian came from Balkh a region in Afghanistan which is Parsi.

everyone born in the land of Afghanistan is classed as Afghan. A united people irrespective of the fact that they speak pukhto, dari, baluchi etc. moulan Rumi was born in balk thats near mazari shafif in present day Afghanistan. The name Afghanistan may not have existed then but it does now. just like the word iran didnt exist before but they do call their people from their history as iranian not persian. pakistanis dont call their historical figures as indian, english dont call anglo saxon

how can mevlana be called an Afghan if the name Afghan or Afghanistan never even existed at his time. Mevlana is a tajik Persian, born from a tajik father and tajik mother. The word 'afghan' means pashtun, so to call mevlana 'afghan' is to call him pashtun, which he was not and will never be.
