  • @wdmounger Hello,I bought mine off ebay. Their was no particular thickness or grade. I lay the tedlar on while the sylgard is still wet. Mark

  • I now have 3 new videos and a web site.

  • 5 sar

  • Mark, it is possible that you remake another video, also showing the solar panel that you made 1 year ago (the one in the video). Everyone will ask you this.

    thanks

  • I need to ask You a question about the white substance i see in the video between glass and aluminum frame. It is just a regular silicone or something else. and what kind of connection box do You use for wire connection ?

  • @dominas1975 Hello, The white stuff is 100% silicone caulk. I use a simple 2 terminal, terminal block that I bought from my local electronic's store for $1. Mark

  • Hello yes that is right, you should have around 3 amp's each cell. I have tested one cell at a time and I will find one that is low output. Mark

  • Hi mark, i want to ask u something. im testing a single solar cell about at 11:00am i testing the volts and is about .55 volst, but when im trying to test the current i just got .25 amps im changing the multimeter to the 10A and the red cable to the terminal to test current. in the specs of the solar cell it saids thet is has to be 3.5 amps,i f test a string og 6 in series i have 3.45 amps, im i testing bad ?? or one cell dont give me 3.5 amps ???

  • the 3.5 amps right ??? tnx

  • hi again mark, i want to know something i f test 1 3 x 6 solar cell the volt is .5 volts but according to the specs of the solar cell, the current would be 3.5 amps, but i just got a .25 amps, so i dont know if my measure is incorrect, so i could look like a newbie but im going to ask he he he i just have tu put muy multimeter in the 10A position and change thered cable to the amps measure and then put red in te positive side and black in negative and this have to shortcircuit and give me

  • you think polyester resin crack de cells, as the epoxy ??

  • @kenoki007 Hello i am not sure about cracking, but will it last in the sun's uv.

  • Tnx Mark, just one more questin, if i use poliestery cristal resin could it work ??? tnx

  • @kenoki007 Hello I dont think it will last. Mark

  • hi mark, i was doing some research and correctme if im worong please, does de slygard is epoxy resin ?? is this is not epoxy resin, can i use expoxy resin or clrear polyester resin to sustitute de very expensive slygard ?? tnx

  • @kenoki007 Hello the sylgard is not a epoxy resin. It has no protein in it. Their is no sustitute, it will stay clear. You can not use epoxy it will make the cell's crack. The panel get's hot in the day and cold at night, this is a thermal cycle.

  • The only problem is sligar is very expensive. I'm building a 140 W panel and it's about twice the size of your frame. It will cost $100 plus for the sligar. Unless of course, you purchase it in bulk. Which I found a place at Yahoo for about $350-$400 for 8 pounds. So the amount you're using will cost about $52, but if you buy in bulk and would cost about $26. So in that case, it would be a great solution! And I thank you for turning me on to this new sligar technology..

  • Hi I now sell the glass and glass and frame on ebay. Mark

  • Hi how are u how can I keep moisture out of a panel that has not used Sylgard but just silicone and a glass over it

  • I am not sure how to keep the moisture out, that is way I only use sylgard. Mark

  • I still sell the frame kit on ebay. Mark

  • The sylgard 184 is found on ebay and it is .5kg.I use one container per 36 cell panel.I no longer offer the glass due to the cost of packaging. You can order your glass from your local glass co.You can also use plexi glass.
