These kinds of ads are nothing new, unless you've been under a rock! Does Miley Sirus represent all girls? Do the Lynx ads men represent all men?? What do you guys expect, some Disclaimer at the bottom of the ad saying: "This portrayal of the 16 year old does not represent all 16 year olds"?? I'm quite sure parents can tell whether their own kids have rooms like this or not... Get a sense of humour, and grow some balls and not be offended by THIS ad lol
Someone needs to rebuttle this ad with another depicting an old and senile man with those big, dark, sunglasses fumbling around there house, hearing aid feeding back, and then geting into a hyundai. Show him struggle to see over the dashboard while he blindly pulls into traffic as it reads "we dont have to share rooms with seniors but we do have to share the road.."
@CadetLD: I completely agree. But most of the people I see around here driving Hyundais happen to be teenagers (granted not Sonatas). Then again you have my grandmother who bought a Toyota for it's safety features, but stopped driving it a year later because she developed senile dementia. She could have gotten into an accident had we not taken her to a gerontologist who advised she stop driving. Imagine if she lived far away and we rarely visited her?
God forbid the rest of you older people will ever have to face discrimination again. You may not remember how badly you were treated or stereotyped when you were teenagers, but believe me, it's not fun.
Hopefully some day people will realize age is not directly proportional to maturity or responsibility, and people will be judged on their character rather than the number of years they've been alive.
I really dislike this commercial. I don't like how it's stereotypical of teenagers. Believe it or not, Hyundai, there are teenagers out there who keep clean living areas. I'm not going to organize a massive boycott or anything extreme over this. I just think I should express my opinion.
I hate this commercial. It's stereotyping 16 year olds and talking about how stupid and dangerous they are. Im much older than 16, but I still f***ing hate this commercial's message that all young people suck. So because of this terrible commercial, I am never buying a Hyundai.
oh so its ok to stereotype now? what the fuck is this? Its fucking stupid, i hope all the stupid ignorant fuckers at hyunai get sued and then get skined and burned alive, how bout if i made a comercial that said buy a better security system so black people dont break into your house, is that ok? No its not and its no diferent, so choke on a vibrator and die, ignorant fuckers, and not to mention its verry unclassy and unprofesional to stereotype.
What if Hyundai came out with a commercial featuring the tagline "Thankfully, not all of us have to share a house with a woman. But we do have to share the road with them." After all, there are just about as many people who say women are bad drivers. Does that make it okay?
I'm 20 and I was laughing at this so much. My room isn't quite as messy as the commercial's however it's not exactly clean. My sister is 17 and I'm terrified of when she gets her license. Frankly, it made me want to go get a Hyundai Sonata! Hahaha.
This is the most stupid commercial ive ever seen. It literally is telling people to profile teenagers as bad drivers. Whats next? Asians? Good fucking job Hyundai, you have successfully earned a reputation as presumptive douche bags.
Statistics speak for themselves. Inexperienced drivers with our modern day distractions (texting, chit-chating teens) are highly likely to get into more accidents than mature, experienced and concentrating drivers with families.
@ConceptVBS: You are partly correct, but when people get too "mature" they become as big of a problem as young drivers. But could you imagine if the commercial talked about senior citizens in that manner? This is a double standard. I am a teenage driver and I don't appreciate being portrayed as irresponsible by people who have never met me.
@ConceptVBS I'm 17, drive by myself to and from school, and never even touch my cell phone -- it stays in the trunk. However, whenver I am driving I always see middle aged drivers talking on their cellphones or eating, drinking, or smoking. I don't care how "experienced" they may be, they are still more distracted than I am and are creating risks on the roadway.
