  • @LeotheTiger1776, I know about Gambit & Instant Recall, I was just naming some of my favorite Wink game shows! But Gambit, IR & all of his other game show work rocks as well! Gotta <3 the Winkmeister!!!!!!!!

  • All Hail the King of Game Shows....Mr. Winston "Wink" Martindale!!!! Long time fan, I am! And of all his game show hosting gigs, Trivial Pursuit is truly one of my all-time favorite game shows! This & of course, Debt, High Rollers, & #1...Tic Tac Dough! Gotta love the Winkmeister!

  • I've played the coumpter game of Trivial Pursuit on Pogo.com

  • Wink Martindale........the man

  • For a LOOOOONG time Wink was the king of game shows, and though instant recall is his most recent one, I am not nearly as impressed with it as his older works like this.

  • Not only that among other classic game shows, Wink Martindale also hosted a hidden camera game show that recently aired on GSN called Instant Recall.

  • In Addition to Trivial Pursuit, Wink Martindale also hosted Gambit, Debt, Instant Recall, High Rollers, Headline Chasers, and Tic Tac Dough.

  • I have the Special 20th Anniversary Trivial Pursuit Game, and i hope to find the Game Show Version one Day.

  • I was 7, and I could remember watching this like a religion...next to Boggle, That's My Dog, & some episodes of Newhart or The Partridge Family(which was also on WWOR, TBS, Nickelodeon/Nick@Nite, & in syndication).

  • Christopher Knight is Inferior, Wink Martindale is Superior!

  • I missed that show so much. I was 14 or 15 when I used to watched Wink Martindale gives you the questions on "Trivial Pursuit", a TV version of a successful board game. I remember the "Playbreak" segments used during one of the game shows where he gives you questions by phone by choosing an answer, just like WWTBAM TV show.

  • BTW, this show was usually shown on the Family Channel back in 1993 which is currently ABC Family.

  • Trivial Pursuit has definately gotten up there as one of the worlds most popular board games. Since Scrabble premired other board games are trying to get adapted into television game shows. Scrabble deviated alot but still kept the cosmetics of the board game alive. This show keep faithful to the board game without going around the board.

Under the format it's a good thing they are going for 12 correct answers to avoid the game from being over to quickly.

  • Really lame questions, far too easy. This crap would NEVER fly on Jeopardy. I guessed every damn question correctly, and I'm just a normal moron. Oh, I meant mormon.

  • Yeah right.

  • @HunterMann well, this ISN'T jeopardy

  • So which version do you like:

The Wink Martindale Version or The Christopher Knight Version (aka Trivial Pursuit: America Plays)?

  • I have to go with Wink Martindale he is like my uncle of some sort or some shit, point is he is related to me

  • Is that so? Fascinating!

  • That episode has no numbers appears on the screen, but there are 12 wedges.

  • I like how they look at each other respectfully after they answer a correct answer.

  • If I remember correctly, when ever there was extra time in the game, an audience member would come upstage and try to earn a little money am I right?

  • You are indeed!

  • OMG! I'm six years old again!! Yay for 1993! :)

  • What about the Jay Wolpert pilot version?

  • This show is coming back this Fall, but in a new and even better format.

  • The format is cool, but the Martindale version's way better.

  • i always liked the theme on this show

  • Trivial Pursuit is returning in the fall 2008 as a syndicated program, but now with the new host Mark L. Walberg.

  • Oh, I'm enthasticaly excited!!!!!

  • Walberg is the man.

  • How did you find this out?

  • How did you find this out?

  • is this USA or will there be another British version?

  • actually pricefan, Christopher Knight's gonna host the new series, Mark did do thje pilot, but according to my info. fox wouldn't let him do trivial pursuit since he's already doing the moment of truth for them.

  • Yup, that's Mark's success of hosting "The Moment of Truth", he will not host this show.

  • Have you got the pilot for the Jay Wolpert version the one hosted by Steve Morris and Linda Marr?

  • Okay, It excists in The UCLA Television Archive.

  • Where is the full opening? The theme music was awesome!

  • holy crap owner of this email me i have a friend who would like this tape.

  • Wow, I actually remember watching this show when I was only 8 years old. I could never remember who hosted this show though. Thanks for reminding me, JustinInAtlanta.

  • Same here. Now it brings me back to when I used to watch this with my favorite grandma. Then in 2000 she passed away.

  • I am so sorry to hear that. You sure do miss her.
