i have a dell laptop 1545 and i have tried many times , with s -video and rca cables and did the settings on the computer but i still dont get a display on my jvc tv

BEEN TRYING TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE FOR AWHILE: when i hook my s-video chord it makes the laptop screen turn black and the content shows up on the tv, but its zoomed in a lot and i cant figure out how to put whats on the laptop onto the tv just as is, but enlarged windows instead of zoomed in all the way. do you know how i can prevent this from happening? thanks.

@MaladaptiveCatalyst TRY RIGHT CLICKING ON YOUR DESKTOP---GO TO PROPERTIES---SETTINGS--- LOOK FOR "SCREEN RESOLUTION"---CHECK AND SEE IF IT IS ON A LOW NUMBER(MINE SAY 1024 BY 768 PIXELS). IF THAT DOESN'T WORK TRY TROUBLESHOOTING.

@froot55  wow i think ur some sort of good luck charm cuz as soon as i plugged in the s-video chord the image on the tv screen showed exactly the way it should be w/out zooming in!! this is literally the 1st time thats happened in 2 1/2 years haha but i think ur initial idea would have worked too. anyway thanks a lot for replying!! take care.

s-video works just fine for video but does not carry sound,for that you need a 3.5mm cable that has 2 rca jacks for sound.you can pick that up on amazon real cheap

@aidhaf you would have to have those yellow,white, and red cables that can connect from your laptop to your tv. i just use bigger speakers with my laptop.
