I hate to see that the lioness just starts eating it alive like that but that is the way life is. Not all of us get to die easy and nethier do the animals. For the people out there that are wanting to talk bad about it it aint no different that eating eggs that come from these big companys that clip the wings and make them sit in a small nest laying eggs till they die then replacing the dead one. Thats why I eat yard raised eggs. Thanks for the vid.
@cheatingwanker because it has lost quite some blood. If you loose blood, you don't have enough energy to walk resist. In a similar video after loosing quite some blood, a buffalo even stops crying because she just can't. No doubt it is so painful. that lioness was trying the same as hyenas do. she bette hunt in a pride and first let the animal suffocate to death before eating it.
@cheatingwanker If you read the info on the video the lioness and buffalo were fighting it out for about 6 hrs, at that point the buffalo nor the lion had the strength to put up a fight. Also it appears, in vid 1 the lioness going for the hind legs, in vid 2 the buffalo walking on it's hocks (back knees) thusly the lioness had sheared the tendons, the buffalo couldn't do anything with the lioness behind him. Lion's will stay away from a buffalo's front end...very wise lioness.
Why are so many lazy opportunists exploiting the "Battle At Kreuger" name? What battle? They removed the flag for deceptive title but that doesn't make it right.
ok ppl yes its nature yes its realy realy bad way to die. and for the ppl who think someone should have shot the buffalo more than likely they would have had to shoot the lion as well. the lion was in a feeding frenzy and a gun shot would have probly set her off and attacked the ppl watching it. how ever if you look at part one closer to the end or part two about 15 seconds into it you would see the buffalo would have died any way. bolth back legs of the bufflo are broken. it would have starved
...the happy end for the one is the disaster for the other. In this case you can turn around this in any order ....but i feel very sad now...i try to get this scene out of my head and go for a cigarette.
should have interfered and shot the buffalo at that stage. period. i would have... gdamn that is too cruel. and for those that think 'it's nature..' so what.. it's interfering just being there and selling tickets for morons to go shoot video!
This is so sad to watch, but the way of nature. It must be so hard being a reserver (or like someone called them a "safari driver"), as their job is to preserve the area and to be invisible to the animals... not to interfere with the course of nature. I couldn't do it! But the guys at the Kruger are awesome... by far one of the best preserved natural African habitats!
u have right shapator, some people think or say it is the nature , but to see something cruel like this u should interfere, as u say to shot the buffalo, altough i have to admit if i was there i wil shot on that idiot lion.
it does look and sound cruel, but life is not meant to be easy.thats what most humans cant understand with their big fat bellies and not give a shite about anybody only themselves attitude.i do think although they are not allowed to interfere... in this case they could have put a bullet in the bull for humane reasons.
but us americans love self indulgence more than anyone in the bar...look around you, you'll see someone throwing a way left over on the street bin while in the same street there are homeless people and he wont give them shit...it's attitude of mine mine mine...even if am wasting it and someone else doesnt have...if you share you are a socialist...oh my country!
I think in some cases the cameraman IE camera crew should intervene with suffering animals I seen a clip where two young cheetah cubs were stuck in a ditch and couldn't get out and the camera crew said we would love to intervene but we feel we will be interveneing with nature OK maybe one person made this law but come on what is a helping hand even nature need help from time to time when you think about it maybe we all part of nature it stinks
Fuck off the people who are saying this is nature and correct. Their views are sick. It is not natural and atleast camera man could help the buffalo instead of kept filming, If not then could atleast avoid filming that. I wish that the same happen to the persons who liked that.
There are laws in play that prevent human intervention in wildlife situations such as this. True he had the choice to stop filming, but he didn't. No one made you watch it. And this IS nature. The lion has to survive and to do so..it has to kill. And by chewing the tendons out from under this bull, she accomplished just that. If you don't like it..don't watch it.
@masterchatter71 How can you possibly deny that this is nature - wake up ! Animals eat each other every day. Life is not a disney movie where the animals all sing songs together. The week are killed and eaten - As it should be so the strong can survive.
it really bothers me to see ignorant people take off their anger about the "camera man's cruelty" when what he did was exactly the right thing. Where would you rather see an animal? Living a sad life in a zoo or being in the wild where they belong? Animals die in the wild and that is how it has always been. If it werent for this then the animals would not have evolved to what they are now. If the lions didnt hunt the buffalo they would die too from starvation so either way someone has to die

Meu Deus! Aqui, Sucubaia, Brasília - DF - Brasil.
Yep this is the best way for Lioness to bring down the buffalo. First cause big wounds and then poor buffalo won't be able to make it to his herd ever again.
Getting emotional over on event in nature is really a conscious decision to be overly concerned with things that don't concern us, if that weren't the case then clicking off must have been out of the control of the viewer. Anyone upset yet continued to watch is a fucking smacktard. Of course it is sad that herbivores do get devoured, but to be upset at a cameraman? Those people should concern themselves with starving children or plainly watch w/out negative opinions. Why watch nature toget upset?
Netherchild99 I agree with you about someone interfering with the lion eating the buffalo alive. That was cruelty and there is no excuse to say that nature has it's laws. It simply means that the scene would attract a great audience and of cource, money goes with that. How can the cameramen be so heartless! It hurt deeply to see the lion yank off great pieces of flesh from the live buffalo. The men could have turned off their cameras, and kill the buffalo, from it's agony.
Human standards don't count in nature. Human standards are invented by people. In nature good and bad doesn't exist. Nature is indifferent. And the indifferent forces of nature are also responsible for the birth of mankind. So stop projecting your narrow-minded human standards on nature. And, if the cameraman is a bad person for filming this, than you are equally bad for watching this.
these places are there to be real. Ya dont stop or help anything ya leave it all to it even if ones starving to death. Ive seen nature lovers simply watch lion cubs being killed. What do you want. Nature or a zoo.
I don't see why you people are mad at the lions they are doing their job this buffalo just was too slow or very unlucky stuff like this happens every day in the wild animals are killed and eatin in odd or gruesome ways
if this didn't happen the herbavor population would rise to the point where food would run out and they would starve that is a much more drawn out death plus the lioness got a meal were satisfied and they get to feed their kills too their cubs it's the way of nature
Well, if only Buffalo had evolved the ability to kick backwards they would find themselves well and truly off the Lion's menu. This one didn't even know how to use its horns and so succumbed to a lone attacker. It normally takes several lions to bring down an adult Buffalo.
This makes me think of the natural order of things, how the world really works: no, I'm not talking about animals. I'm talking about my luck. This makes me realize that if it was ME filming this, my camera battery would SURELY have died, oh, right before the crocodile made his entrance. And when I told people the rest of the story, they'd maybe say "oh, wow" and secretly believe that I'm full of shit.
when i realised the lion was eating pieces of the buffalo while it was still alive i was so shocked,i know its part of nature i.e. kill or be killed but the last minute of this video is still jawdropper, poor buffalo, but its sadly part of nature...
You guys are letting this get to you too much. It's nature and you have to let it run it's course. I bet right now a pride is eating a buffalo, that's the way the WILD is.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
People stop saying this is natures way and just let it! Are you saying that we humans are not part of nature? They should have interfered in the event, and shot either one of them.
We are part of nature thus we can interfere. Only heartless creatures can let see a buffalo being eaten alive even if you had the chance to save it. If that is not humans nature then why bother visiting there. Since he went there, he is already part of it and is entitled to interfere with the killing
fuck that! i love lions! there my favorite animal, but those fuckin people behind the camera should have done the right thing and shoot the buffalo....imagine being eaten alive! I know its nature at work, but fuck that, if ur there and ur seeing this...involve yourself! dont tell me that i dont wanna interfere like most of those wildlife fuckers love to say! If you love animals, then you should have ended the buffalo's misery ,but DO NOT kill the lion under no circumstance!!!
Just because you feel bad for an animal doesn't mean you have the right or the obligation to put it out of its misery. Nature is what it is, and if these people had stepped in (even to shoot the buffalo), they could've been attacked by the lions. In the wild, animals aren't domesticated like a common house pet- they attack because it's instinct.
no shit! but in that particular circumstance it would not have been a bad idea considering the buffalo had both of its hind legs shattered and it could barely walk...in that instance its your duty as a animal lover to consider putting it down....and no, if they shot the buffalo from any distance, the lion would have not attacked! they fear man more than anything else and would have fled and then come back for it
Hmm, logically I would assume, firing a gun will give away the cameraman's position to the lion and endanger the entire group? Secondly, to kill the buffalo instantly you need accuracy from a far distance, if you miss, the buffalo would suffer alot more from bullet wounds....
I don't think lion fear man in the wild, they see them as food. This is why I don't see a video of you wrestling with a lion.
Of course not, u reckon the lioness hasnt spotted them yet? she prob already smelled them before even noticing them if the direction of the wind is in her favour. They are in a car and wild cats are used to that in national parks. As long as u dont step out ur not on their terratory and def ok. If u start firing guns the lioness will probably run away. Besides its nature and u shouldnt interfere. Usually when a lion attacks men its due to an injury they suffered (i.e. missing a tooth).
this is to all you boneheads that think the somehow this could have ended faster by some intervention either by the cameraman or if the lion could have killed it faster..STUPID'S
This is nature for heavens sake. This happens each day in the wild,The lions are not giving any thought that PETA people are watching.
Maybe if the Lion would have pulled out a glock and shot it to death first would that have made it easier for you to watch?...lol
PETA people have no interest in what is happening in REAL NATURE...PETA people have an interest in what in happening when PEOPLE INTERFERE WITH ANIMALS !! PETA people believe animals belong in nature as these two are/were, and that people have no business messing with them.
fuck you all stupid this is nature the camare man cant do shit about it stupid read about. Cannot interfer with Nature i think the buffalo should die because lion population are decresing and buffalo are increasing
this is screwed up ... poor bull ... damn this svcks .... very painful to watch, .... the slow, slow, slow death of this buffalo ... painfully brutal, but non the less this is part of nature ...
if i had a rifle, i would shoot the buffalo rite on the head ... and kill it instantly,
this is really sad to watch. though i belive it is important to document the wild life of all animals i also belive that people who would discribe this as "cool" should get eaten alive by a lion. it would be just as "natural" as anything else they would eat.
i love watching nature and i get the predator/prey relationship. however, i also get that desperately lurching your body forward towards a water hole on four broken limbs only to be eaten alive by a predator when you finally get there, is a horrible way to die. if the prey had been a human, anyone describing it as a "cool" video would have questionable morals. yet ironically it would equally illustrate natures natural selection. i just find the glorification of suffering disturbing. thats all.
yes suffering sucks but i think why people think animals fighting like this is cool because it just shows that animal dominant or how it fights is cool. others yes proboly like the fighting cause they some one is gonna die but think it is ok because it is in the wild not a caged dog fight. But hey this how animals conduct themselves in no way they are they cival and if they see weak or vulnerable animal you bet your bottom dollar the predators are gonna roll on that peice of prey.
Wow...it sounded like one of you were sniffling in the background...I would have been to, it had to be hard to watch this animal clearly suffering. Much as I like lions, I also like buffalo and other prey animals. It's hard to watch them get killed but even more hard when they suffer like that, I know they have to be eaten, it's a cycle of life but geez...poor thing...
even while growing up, I was always watching nature shows, preferring them over any cartoon...but I have to agree w/ you that tyhis one was quite hard to watch. Nature in its beauty some would say, the circle of life? Indeed, it is amazing how one will sacrafice its own life so that others may live.
That was such an insane death. I've never seen, first a lion hunt alone, unless it was an immature male, and secondly, a lion not go for the jugular to attack the victim. Usually in a pride situation there's one holding the nose for suffocation. So, was this an adolescent lioness? Do you have any information on this particular lioness?
Some lioness loses they're pride at early age and have to fend for themselves till they join another one. They know for the most part not to attack a cape buffaloe head on cause they could get impaled
Nothing dies of old age in the African bush...Nothing. Buffalo was just a free meal. Like a big fat plum dropping into the palm of yer hand. Ain't often 'ol ma nature gives them a free one...
The buffalo is limping, seems it got injured. So he obviously couldn't keep up with the herd making himself an easy prey. I personally always like to see buffalo get away from lions when they can.
Thank you "blues2mars"! You are absolutely right, nothing is fake in there. Nature is never faking. This has taken hours to film and been really hard to watch as you said. Best regards to you.
whether its real or not i don't know, but its still sick:P. and i saw something similar on the discovery channel, this kruger park it know for this kind stuff
pobrecito buffalo siento mucha pena verlo asi, ojala los leones fueran hervivoros, pero bueno si son carnivoros es por algo y de una u otra forma se iene que conservar el equilibrio ecológico
Damn that was disturbingly amazing! They always say on TV that the the prey go into shock and are numb etc, but you can clearly see the sheer pain this thing is in, especially while being eaten alive. Nature is brutal.

And, if the cameraman is a bad person for filming this, than you are equally bad for watching this.

how come sometimes people help animals and sometimes they just watch em suffer

these places are there to be real. Ya dont stop or help anything ya leave it all to it even if ones starving to death. Ive seen nature lovers simply watch lion cubs being killed. What do you want. Nature or a zoo.

The buffalo died a traitors death. Eaten alive! HAHAHA
Devinious30 3 years ago
I don't see why you people are mad at the lions they are doing their job this buffalo just was too slow or very unlucky stuff like this happens every day in the wild animals are killed and eatin in odd or gruesome ways
if this didn't happen the herbavor population would rise to the point where food would run out and they would starve that is a much more drawn out death plus the lioness got a meal were satisfied and they get to feed their kills too their cubs it's the way of nature
nomephobic 3 years ago 5
Well, if only Buffalo had evolved the ability to kick backwards they would find themselves well and truly off the Lion's menu. This one didn't even know how to use its horns and so succumbed to a lone attacker. It normally takes several lions to bring down an adult Buffalo.

This makes me think of the natural order of things, how the world really works: no, I'm not talking about animals. I'm talking about my luck. This makes me realize that if it was ME filming this, my camera battery would SURELY have died, oh, right before the crocodile made his entrance. And when I told people the rest of the story, they'd maybe say "oh, wow" and secretly believe that I'm full of shit.

when i realised the lion was eating pieces of the buffalo while it was still alive i was so shocked,i know its part of nature i.e. kill or be killed but the last minute of this video is still jawdropper, poor buffalo, but its sadly part of nature...
bluerings20 3 years ago
You guys are letting this get to you too much. It's nature and you have to let it run it's course. I bet right now a pride is eating a buffalo, that's the way the WILD is.

If you love animals, then you should have ended the buffalo's misery ,but DO NOT kill the lion under no circumstance!!!
dainfamousrican69 3 years ago
Just because you feel bad for an animal doesn't mean you have the right or the obligation to put it out of its misery. Nature is what it is, and if these people had stepped in (even to shoot the buffalo), they could've been attacked by the lions. In the wild, animals aren't domesticated like a common house pet- they attack because it's instinct.
nerosDECAY 3 years ago
no shit! but in that particular circumstance it would not have been a bad idea considering the buffalo had both of its hind legs shattered and it could barely walk...in that instance its your duty as a animal lover to consider putting it down....and no, if they shot the buffalo from any distance, the lion would have not attacked! they fear man more than anything else and would have fled and then come back for it
dainfamousrican69 3 years ago
Hmm, logically I would assume, firing a gun will give away the cameraman's position to the lion and endanger the entire group? Secondly, to kill the buffalo instantly you need accuracy from a far distance, if you miss, the buffalo would suffer alot more from bullet wounds....
I don't think lion fear man in the wild, they see them as food. This is why I don't see a video of you wrestling with a lion.
dat2704 3 years ago
Of course not, u reckon the lioness hasnt spotted them yet? she prob already smelled them before even noticing them if the direction of the wind is in her favour. They are in a car and wild cats are used to that in national parks. As long as u dont step out ur not on their terratory and def ok. If u start firing guns the lioness will probably run away. Besides its nature and u shouldnt interfere. Usually when a lion attacks men its due to an injury they suffered (i.e. missing a tooth).

If they shoot the buffalo I am sure they can also shoot the lions if they attack them.

this is to all you boneheads that think the somehow this could have ended faster by some intervention either by the cameraman or if the lion could have killed it faster..STUPID'S
This is nature for heavens sake. This happens each day in the wild,The lions are not giving any thought that PETA people are watching.
Maybe if the Lion would have pulled out a glock and shot it to death first would that have made it easier for you to watch?...lol
gueronva 3 years ago
PETA people have no interest in what is happening in REAL NATURE...PETA people have an interest in what in happening when PEOPLE INTERFERE WITH ANIMALS !! PETA people believe animals belong in nature as these two are/were, and that people have no business messing with them.

if i had a rifle, i would shoot the buffalo rite on the head ... and kill it instantly,
and then i would feed it to the lion,
a quick death would've been nice ...
this was very sad to watch,
but folks, this is nature
yep, nature is ... brutal
a quick death would've been nice

I want c the buffalo been eaten by hyena haha
danwon88 3 years ago
this is really sad to watch. though i belive it is important to document the wild life of all animals i also belive that people who would discribe this as "cool" should get eaten alive by a lion. it would be just as "natural" as anything else they would eat.
mathpuppy 3 years ago
how bout it is cool to whatch because its how animals act in the wild and its natures way of natural selection
BECKDADDY 3 years ago
i love watching nature and i get the predator/prey relationship. however, i also get that desperately lurching your body forward towards a water hole on four broken limbs only to be eaten alive by a predator when you finally get there, is a horrible way to die. if the prey had been a human, anyone describing it as a "cool" video would have questionable morals. yet ironically it would equally illustrate natures natural selection. i just find the glorification of suffering disturbing. thats all.
mathpuppy 3 years ago
yes suffering sucks but i think why people think animals fighting like this is cool because it just shows that animal dominant or how it fights is cool. others yes proboly like the fighting cause they some one is gonna die but think it is ok because it is in the wild not a caged dog fight.

That was such an insane death. I've never seen, first a lion hunt alone, unless it was an immature male, and secondly, a lion not go for the jugular to attack the victim. Usually in a pride situation there's one holding the nose for suffocation. So, was this an adolescent lioness? Do you have any information on this particular lioness?
duckherder 4 years ago
Some lioness loses they're pride at early age and have to fend for themselves till they join another one. They know for the most part not to attack a cape buffaloe head on cause they could get impaled
elsmalls 3 years ago
I've seen some astonishing things in nature but a lion giving a cape buffalo a rim job in the middle of water takes the cake!

what was the buffalo doing off alone? wheres its herd... by the way... the buffalo should have owned that lion!!! buffalo's are strong....

The buffalo is limping, seems it got injured. So he obviously couldn't keep up with the herd making himself an easy prey. I personally always like to see buffalo get away from lions when they can.
