I, for one, am very glad that Rep. Boozman is working hard for funding of I-49. As someone who lives in rural western Arkansas, I know first hand how badly the southwestern portion of the state needs an interstate, if for nothing else to at least open the region up economically. A completed I-49 will be a real boon to both Arkansas and the nation.
This project should be funded with state money and tolls, not federal money. Arkansas needs to pony up, get out of the fed's back pocket (US tax payer money) and develop its own assets. This project would be described as "pork" by others, so AR should not fund this project with US tapayer money unless it is to be paid back. Boozman hangs with NWA AR cronies (travels to Brasil for example on taxpayer $), and is apparently not principaled with regard to spending federal funds.
This is the same doofus that says Obama is spending too much money. He never complained about how much Bush was spending on wars and tax cuts for him and his rich doctor buddies.
