i was there in 05-06, it was not because anyone stopped patrolling you dumbass, it was because Karbala was a main base for the mahdi militia....4id had to fight them on several occasions, including kicking them out of musyib when a couple hundred of them decided to take it over.....anyone who still sticks to those old army vs. marine rivalrys obviously has not been in real combat before....mahdi bullets kill soldiers the same as they kill marines, and vis versa.

unless they have made improvements since 05, it sucks ass....sorry. if he is on the west side of the fob he should use the northern or southern most roads to avoid the toxic waste on the way to chow.
I was there from 05-06 with 1-67ar, place is nothing but a hell hole. :D If you don't smoke, the power plant will kill you. The filter on the cigarette is the only safe thing to inhale.
