    But don't don't don't let's start

    I've got a weak heart

And I don't get around how you get around...

WHO LOVES HOW HE SAIS HEART?

  • Wow this video is awsome.

The Manager who was handling the bands affairs must have said when he first got this Video was ' did you guys just went out there, acted goofy, and then came back and edited it together?'

They probably said yeah, and the manager said okay, and this is what we got XD

  • ANYONE UP? I NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO

energetic fun smart and loves this video aw

  • i love this song, the guy singing (his name escapes me)looks like he's haveing contortions!

  • his name is john actually both of their names are john

  • aright so why is there no conversation about the Worlds Fair and why TMBG is so fascinated by it....... come on people!

  • 1:18

    Completely necessary crotch shot

  • "John L. wrote this song about his broken accordion, didn't he? I'm not 100% sure, I could be mistaken."

I'm pretty sure he didn't. The way I heard it was that they wrote the music for this song first, and then just made up random lyrics that fit into the tune.

  • D world destruction

    O ver and overture

    N do I need

    'T need this torture?

  • Didn't Crash Test Dummies do a cover of this or something? I can't remember what album it was on though.

  • Deputy Dawg dog a ding dang depadepa

Deputy Dawg dog a ding dang depadepa

In case you guys were wondering what Linnell was saying...

  • this song...LOL

  • by far the gayest comment i have ever read.

  • dont you feel that special tug in you chest that little thrill that makes you want to go do something radical something you would never do before? like get up and kiss the person yove hade a crush on but were too nervus to say?

  • TMBG is pure love.. I think.

  • So true.

    megen1996, you are totally right

This song bleeds love from all of it's tiny pores.

  • thank you

  • still love them

  • good song love TMBG!

  • haha these guys were making "youtube music Videos" long before youtube was even around. Kudos

  • haha i kno!

  • How did they get that effect? Did they sing slowly and speed up the film later. Or did they splice together mutiple takes? or is it one take that has been cut up and slightly repeated?

  • They just filmed it and added the music later. Most people do that.

  • That's not what rottenthoughts is talking about. Did you notice that the footage seems to have been sped up? It wasn't just filmed normally.

  • thank you.

  • well, by my guestimation, they could have tinkered with the speed of the song to slow it down.. then sing to the sloweed down version. You could then speed up the film to match the real one. I am a genius!! I'm sure they prolly did try something like that. its a good idea anyway

  • I'm not talking about the accordion they blew up in the music video, I'm just asking a simple question. I find it unnecessary that my comment before was down-thumbed...

  • John L. wrote this song about his broken accordion, didn't he? I'm not 100% sure, I could be mistaken.

  • Get their DVD. The commentary explains that the accordion blowing up in this video was not their idea. In fact they were against it!

  • in 2:22 did linnell really blow up that accordian? he really likes those tings along with the key board

  • Yes, these guys are weird, but I've got to hand it to them. They are chock full of talent. :-)

  • THANK YOU! my friends think its fun to insult them when they never heard and of their songs then afterward they expect me to love their favrote band that i never heard of jeez

  • bastards dude. I get the same crap from everyone I know. "Screw your crap band... and listen to my 'Joe Dizzle and the Pirates.'" seriously ... like... I hope there isnt a real Joe Dizzle and the Pirates. I'm tired of listening to other people's crap. TMBG for life.

  • yeah, TMBG is knda known for that. Great song, Weird video

  • thare not nutty thare brilliant! i love Linnell man i need to meet them you know what weird i have brown hair and side bangs like linnell but i had those before i knew about him

  • I actually own a copy of direct from brooklyn.

In the commentery, they tell you how to make one of those hats, I just forget what they say.^^'

  • BTW, I have 2 degrees of separation. I lived with a woman who was friends with John F. when he was at Pratt.

  • What happened to them that made them so nutty???

  • They got older.

  • *high fives John and John* This video's awesome. 2nd favorite, next to The Guitar. <3

  • So much better than any of the music videos for "The Else."

  • I wish Flans smoked that pipe more often. Gives him a touch of class in my book.

  • OH YEAH!!! They are the best band.

Luckily, I'm gonna see them on Friday.

...I need one of those hats

  • To block the view of the unfortunate audience member seated behind you? BRILLIANT!

I like the cut of your jib.

  • "They would start to play this song, and a wave would come over saying 'you're home'."

  • My favorite album by them is their debut, and this is one of the best on it.

  • haha homestar runner strong sad's lament

  • Does this song make anyone ELSE want to snap into a slim-jim?

  • What IS that on their heads?

  • I believe it's a bunch of carpet and cardboard.

They say in the commentary track of their music vid DVD "Direct from Brooklyn"

  • TMBG really did know how to use the relatively new medium of music video. Artistic and complementary to their songs. Truly one of the best American bands... and not because of that... but because they have been putting out great music much like REM... good songs and for a long time.

  • D world destruction

    O-ver and overture

    N, do I need

    ' (apostrophe)

    T, need this torture?

  • <3 love them
