The Manager who was handling the bands affairs must have said when he first got this Video was ' did you guys just went out there, acted goofy, and then came back and edited it together?'
They probably said yeah, and the manager said okay, and this is what we got XD
"John L. wrote this song about his broken accordion, didn't he? I'm not 100% sure, I could be mistaken."
I'm pretty sure he didn't. The way I heard it was that they wrote the music for this song first, and then just made up random lyrics that fit into the tune.
dont you feel that special tug in you chest that little thrill that makes you want to go do something radical something you would never do before? like get up and kiss the person yove hade a crush on but were too nervus to say?
How did they get that effect? Did they sing slowly and speed up the film later. Or did they splice together mutiple takes? or is it one take that has been cut up and slightly repeated?
well, by my guestimation, they could have tinkered with the speed of the song to slow it down.. then sing to the sloweed down version. You could then speed up the film to match the real one. I am a genius!! I'm sure they prolly did try something like that. its a good idea anyway
I'm not talking about the accordion they blew up in the music video, I'm just asking a simple question. I find it unnecessary that my comment before was down-thumbed...
THANK YOU! my friends think its fun to insult them when they never heard and of their songs then afterward they expect me to love their favrote band that i never heard of jeez
bastards dude. I get the same crap from everyone I know. "Screw your crap band... and listen to my 'Joe Dizzle and the Pirates.'" seriously ... like... I hope there isnt a real Joe Dizzle and the Pirates. I'm tired of listening to other people's crap. TMBG for life.
thare not nutty thare brilliant! i love Linnell man i need to meet them you know what weird i have brown hair and side bangs like linnell but i had those before i knew about him
TMBG really did know how to use the relatively new medium of music video. Artistic and complementary to their songs. Truly one of the best American bands... and not because of that... but because they have been putting out great music much like REM... good songs and for a long time.

And I don't get around how you get around...

They just filmed it and added the music later. Most people do that.
YoshiLives 3 years ago
That's not what rottenthoughts is talking about. Did you notice that the footage seems to have been sped up? It wasn't just filmed normally.

Get their DVD. The commentary explains that the accordion blowing up in this video was not their idea. In fact they were against it!
