I've had mine since Friday! Absolutely STUNNING amp! The best sound I've ever had! And I've still not yet taken it past volume 1! Can't wait to get this badboy on a stage and really push those valves!
Does anyone know if this amp could handle doing old school metal like Iron Maiden or Judas Priest? I'd imagine so, but just wondering if anyone knows :P
@MetalLeg73 Easily! If you have EMGs it's even crunchier! I was playing today on the OD2 channel through an LTD Viper 407. Plenty enough gain to more than handle Priest or Maiden :-)
I bought this amp and replaced the celestion 70/80s with G12t75 and whoooooooaaaaa when I bought it I didn't think it could get any better until I did that.. I was wrong
can someone help me out here. I just got this amp, and whenever I am not playing I can hear an annoying ambient noise. It's especially loud on the overdrive channels with moderate gain. It can be heard on louder clean channels too. Also, I know it's not my guitar's problem
@Barefoot67 It is an amazing little amp! I have a HT 1R now too, and I've used both in the studio for recording as well as small open mic gigs (ie no drummer lol) and they sound amazing! I'll be ordering the HT 60 Stage this week so that will be my gigging amp! And judging by how much volume I get out of the HT-5R, I'm quite looking forward to cranking this badboy on stage :-)
These amps are well designed and use decent components but it is a bit of a piss take when you sick union jacks all over your amps, manuals and website when all your products are made in korea!
@RayLeGrandIIIMusic My guess is that 60W is good enough to play in a medium to big-sized bar without going above volume level 6 (which would give you gain saturation). If it's a Nashville big bar (probably really big bars there) or places where people talk too loud, maybe you would have to mic it or try to use the emulated output it has to a mixer and P.A. system (not sure it works that way, though).
@marcoamf1977 thanks I'll probably end up getting this then I'll shoot for that 100 watt head and a cab for it cause some of the clubs here are big. But I think even the big ones could work with the 60, I cant believe I didn't think of micing. Thanks
Hi, Im a complete beginner when it comes to using an emulated output. I have a recording program on my computer called sonar LE. Can anyone please tell me how i get from the emulated output on my amp, to an imput on my computer. Thanks.
at the moment I've got a zt club amp which is light and loud but only has a clean channel and is ss I've also got a ht5 but it'd struggle in my band. So,I'm toying with the idea of getting a ht 40 or 60 but those would be heavy to lift so I was wondering if the ht dual pedal would be a close approximation?
Played this at my local yesterday - can't decide b/t this and the soloist just yet, but they both rock. I can't even look at a fender any longer. It'll probably be this one - I can always boost with a pedal and save the second OD channel for a more varied tone. It will be merry XMAS to myself. Great playing.
im stuck between this and a marshall vintage modern. I play alot of old school rock but my band plays modern rock. Im looking for something with balls and lots of mids to get that heavy tone. any suggestions?
Blackstar are now what Marshall use to be.....the BEST amps on the planet. I have this amp + the 1 watt version. I upgraded the valves to JJ valves in the 60 watter and I haven't heard a better amp tone on the planet ever..and i've been playing for 20 years.
my only question before i go out and decide to buy this because its probably the only tube amp i can carry at its size, and sounds awesome....is it LOUD? i need to be at a higher volume cuz my dummer cant hear me on my peavy 75 watt no tube
@xlxfinaldeathwishxlx a transitstor 75 watt amp has no head room , if you use this the jump in volume will be huge, its about the equivalent of a 200 watt transistor amp flat out. Tube amps at 50/60 watts will be good for any gig, especially these animals i am very impressed with the Blackstar amps
@andrewlawther clean tone is awesome too. Try one out , you'll be impressed. I tried about a dozen amps out before choosing this one. They are back ordered, that's how popular they are. Just make sure the shippers double box it; the original box is not strong enuf for an amp this heavy

@ArmandoGT1 Yep, mine sounds great...in larger than medium clubs you can mic up like you would with any amp unless you want to Di straight into the pa as it has the connections to do so but i havent needed to as this kicks serious ass
Been playing 20 years, this is the Best new brand on the market and I haven't played a better amp in this price bracket ever! Got one of these HT Stage 60's and will NOT sell it! Does every style easy, sounds great with ot without pedals. If it Sh#ts itself I'll buy another one no doubt!
@pbest75 me2 got rid of my egnater renegade for it, unreal amp and tone!!!!! crazy beasy of an amp and i have been searchin for it for a long long long time!!!!!!!
Seriously considering buying this amp. How does it handle the heavier tones like for hard rock-metal? im trying to get that classic gnr sound from appetite.
@slashfan7777 spot on for GnR stuff dude, we do Paradise city and sweet child and it does a great job...I do Steel panther stuff through it too ;) The other guitarist in my band as the Marshall tsl 100w and the Blackstar 60w sounds sweeter than that!
@chrisdoyle72 nice dude seroiusly thinking about it but im gonna have to go check it out myself next time i go to guitar center. I appreciate your help!
the power on this is unreal! tried it out today, on OD2 its as loud as my 80w solid state when its as quiet as it can go :L no good as a practice amp though, but the 40w has only two channels, and the soloist would probably be too loud as well...
You need to have the master up to get really decent sounds its not the best with master low etc but fair enough as its not a practice amp. Sorry blackstar but the demos are not doing this amp justice you need some better demo's, more cleans , medium breakup ,more strats etc and there are settings that get a good stevie , john mayer type tone that people would probably like. also the amp sounds sweeter if you crank the volumes on the od channels but keep the gains lower.
well, im buying one myself in a few days. I tried it and must tell you it sounds great, especially clen channel and OD1 are really cool. the amp is a bit big and heavy, but it sounds more like huge standalone amplifier. the spund is rather versatile, could be used for both blues, rock or even metal. try it yourselves! it's worth it
I would recommend going out and trying one of these...I tried 2 today, the 20 and the 60 and I didn't really click with them...they might sound better when turned up louder but the sound I'm hearing here sounds very similar to the sound I got from the Peavey classic 30.....sold well made amps and I'm sure they are great...deeper tones etc...I really was hoping to hear this sound but I didn't....
It's way loud enough for gigs, cause I have one and have gigged it loads of times, I've also invested in the htv 2x12 extension cab too. The sound is stunning and for the price it's a steel!!! These amps are only gonna get moe expensive as blackstars reputation grows.... And be sure it's growing very fast... Move over Marshall there's a new guy in town doing it all sooo much better!

@buddyruckus9 Buddy, valve amps are a lot louder than solid state amplifiers, it will surely be loud enough :p But you might want to try it out first for yourself :)
@buddyruckus9 This amp is 10x louder than it needs to be. I have never played it over 1/3 of its volume at any gig, outside, big hall, nothing... I actually play out of a 15 watt tube amp more now due to the fact this amp is a tank and it is loud as hell. I miss the sweet tones but love the 60lb difference in weight I lug in each night!
Can anyone explain why there is no Midrange on the Clean channel on the Stage 60 or the Stage 100 head? I cannot get a reply from Blackstar's website at all.
@kursunyata HT 60 is good for almost every kind of rock music.. very nice cleans, great overdrive, super versatile and tweakable.. and VERY loud too! :)
@Zhorellski Agree, that besides all the amazing things about my series 1/100's was a huge selling point for me because some gigs are very small and fiding the sweet spot for good tone on a tube head can be a real problem at a small gig.Good to see a C.O. that gets it,tonal option Versatility /Tons of gain/great cleans what can you say, these amps can do it all and do it all amazingly.Blackstar convert for life now,Cant imagine a better amp than my series 1/100's for what I do.
@Zhorellski There is a master control volume. This does significantly impact on the overall volume levels so even if you have the volume cranked to 11 on either the clean or gain channel it's not that loud, and you can still get that valve breakup effect.

I have an HT-5 and I love it! Thanks for making such a great little amp and such a reasonable price! Now....comeon! Let's see an HT-20 combo! Can't wait for that!
