  • Kiss, did a disco song: I Was Made For Lovin You

  • Disco RULES, rap stinks, and that's THAT! Off the hook man!

  • FYI people, Denny Terio hosts his own 70s Saturday Dance Fever program on Sirius XM 70s on 7. Listen in every Saturday night at 9PM! Dig it?!

  • I remember watching that tv show Dance Fever.

  • I remember that rebellion against Disco....even in 3rd grade kids would ask if you were for Rock n Roll or Disco...and you better have the right answer. 30 + years later most of those guys now listen to Disco and remember their youth fondly even though they hated it back then.

  • And the hard rock stuff

  • Burn the rap cd's lol

  • I can see something going out of style and people losing their interest in it, but why did they have to turn it into a hatred thing? Okay, so you're tired of it. But why do you have to have bonfires and scream that it sucks? Come on, People, this is only music. It's not a horrible injustice going on that's doing true harm to anybody.

  • I have the soundtrack. . lol best soundtrack ever!

  • I LOVE the Bee Gee's! EVERY single piece of music that has ever been made is loved by some one some where.... ~`;`~

  • Amy Irving had auditioned for " Stephanie's " role. It is my favourite actress and John Travolta is my favourite actor! It is for it that it is very it's a pity that she is not held this role because she is the only actress with whom I would not be almost jealous to see John Travolta!!!

  • Rock sucks shit...headbanging garbage..mulefuckers!

  • I love how deep is your love its so well deep and I simply love it :) !!!

  • Why did they burn all those disco records, they could have given them to me, lol.

  • @russziv They felt that the Music was taking over and damaging the credibility of other Artists. Also, think about it, after that Riot, not one Artist from The Disco Era was able to really pick up the pieces of their careers. Although the Bee Gees considered to be successful Producers/Songwriters they didn't have any more hits on the Pop Charts.

  • @laminage They did in the rest of the world, just not America.

  • @TheSpiderkate Wow, I didn't know that. I was 11 when SNF came out so I wasn't able to see it when it was first broadcast. Nevertheless it was an amazing movie.

  • ha love it how the ppl. where all trying to get rid of disco and now when you think of the 70's you think disco :)

  • @MegaDragonfly64 so it was mainly because of jealousy

  • Holy crap why were they burning disco records...... I'm a retro kind of girl i hate rap and I love older shows and music and I'm not that old..... even if the show is 4 years old I think its (most of the time) way, way better then the crapy shows they put out today plus

(to me) I can never understand what rapers are saying

  • Kiss did a disco song. I Was Made For Lovin' You, it peeked at #11 and it started a decline for the band.

  • I was a kid and parents did not let us watch the film SNF but young adults spoke about it non-stop. Travolta was famous and mothers wanted to look at him although critical. We managed to watch it with neighbors and loved it! it was all the disco we dreamed about and the dancing we wanted to pretend learning. It was a sweet innocent time for us kids and the Bee Gees.

  • "It got ugly."

Why was it ugly? Is dancing ugly?

  • ..."can you dig it? I knew that you could"... Love that line.

  • wait!! if disco was an underground thing than how could all those people know what it is.

  • @zitalee2 it slowly started to get more popular

  • I say death to death metal who needs it.

  • They should KILL these bastards for burning these great records. What about a RAP SUCKS night?!

  • @70sman4ever

Well, rap actually came from Disco, the first rap song to hit the Billboard charts (or go somewhat mainstream) was "Rapper's Delight" by the Sugar Hill Gang in the fall of 1979. Remember that Rap group took the music from Chic's "Good Times" hit single and rapped over it.

  • @70sman4ever

"What about a RAP SUCKS night"?

That's a pretty naive comment, considering the close musical relationship between hip hop and disco: both forms of black urban music, both evolved from funk, both breaking into the mainstream in the late 70's.

Disco and hip hop are different branches on the same tree.

  • @70sman4ever Great idea, 70sMan.

  • @70sman4ever You've got emotional one year ago. Today let's give peace a chance and listen disco and rap together!

  • @70sman4ever Face it Rap Sucks but Disco & later Techno Sucked even worse. If it wasn't for stupid hippies not being willing to learn a funky dance move or two to please the ladies, Disco would've stayed in the gay areas where it came from. Saturday Night Fever was pretty much the best of all there was to Disco. Take the Bee Gees, Donna Summer & Giorgio Moroder out of Disco & whaddaya got? Not much. Funk is great enough for dancing without watering it down to that 4-on-the-floor retarded beat.

  • Love the 70's music and Saturday Night Fever is Awesome
