You are right! Loosing the general however is a big moral loss for the entire army. Best to try and save the general before he gets killed ;) Though I often forget, I try to play the general unit in a place where he is central to my army, and not in an easily attackable position.

do you know what you could've done? some tips:

first i have to say i really liked your build, i'm gonna try it some time. ;)

what you could've done: be more cautious with your cavalry in the opening fight, you could've flanked him at 2:36 (with your general) and at the same time moved your 3rd line to protect the second line, when his cavalry charged your general, you could've surrounded him with your third line and at 3:43 you could've moved some of your third line to your left, his right ...

and flank his line, you could've used more of your pila.

with your cav you could: 1) mass them on one wing 2) or keep him busy with 2/3 on your right wing while you strike with you 1unit on his right wing 3) you could've lured him into your range of pila, or even better within charge range of a unit infantry 4) you could've easily used your archers better against his rush-army (vs berzekers or cav)

you had a lot of opportunities, if you only had taken them :p

Good advice! I agree with massing your cavalry... you had some (although they can in handy) on the left wing that could have been added to your right.

When my spear warbands were out of formation they were highly vulnerable to arrows, so your archers could have done some serious damage to then before they could get back into the safety of phalanx formation ;) Targeting the highly vulnerable bezerkers would have been good too

you didnt play to bad :) based on this battle with blondini and since your new to the online world of rtw,youll be a legionary if blondini agrees,its the lowest ranking,since in our clan only people out side of nz and aus can get the 3 auxiliary rankings.But when you improve you will be promoted :)
