For those saying the the replacement battery on the mini is hard to replace just go to radio shack- they sell it. It will cost you the price of two whoppers- $8.
"Its brainless" Well, for at least a grand.point.five ($500 for a 580EXII, $500 for the Quantum Turbo, and $500+ for the Pro Sunswatter) I dont know if I would want to show up with a $35 bent umbrella on the broken center section cannibalized from a gutted lightstand...
wow... why is the video simply dreadful for a professional? If I were seeking a photographer, and I saw this video online, I would pass on his services... just an FYI. Great presentation of information, but less than amature video presentation... maybe your forte is still photography...okay...let someone do the video maybe?
We are commercial photographers based in Calgary, Alberta. In the studio we use Pocket Wizard all the time. Outside however or even in a large enclosed area such as an airport the MiniTT and Fkex5 simply don't work. The max ETTL range with our 780's is no more than than 10 - 20ft In fact, we get better line of sight coverage using IR. Also. The TT1 uses a battery that is very hard to replace. Even our camera store don't stock them!
@TALKCalgary I have read this exact same comment from you on other videos. Have you got something against PWs? I own them, and have neither had this experience nor even read of it apart from in your comments. Perhaps you have a defective model? Either way, stop spamming with this, it's not accurate for the vast majority of users.

Great video - my equipment is on order. I attended David's first Light + Commerce workshop in April in Nashville and loved every minute of it. He covered a huge amount of technical, artistic and business know-how in what seemed like MUCH longer than a day. Sign up!

@FloatingOnAZephyr And the battery is as easy to replace as any other battery. This is a nonsensical statement.

Isn't the angle of the umbrella shaft supposed to be on an upward plane so that the flash is pointing to the center of the umbrella?
jprodajko1 2 years ago 3
It's okay. It's a shoot-through umbrella so the flash doesn't really have to be in the center.
EngPhotography 2 years ago
Looks like he put his umbrella in backwards. The shaft should've been inserted on the other side.

David, Great working with you and much luck at the upcoming workshops!
For those of you who are in the next cities or nearbydefinitely try to attend the workshop, there is a lot of valuable info that David passes along.
Great info on the new PW FLEX TTs and their application.
