  • That bit of noodling Gilmour was doing during the last pre-chorus (if that's what it's called) was oddly reminiscent of a solo from one of the songs on 'The Division (yawn) Bell'. Coming back to life?

  • u damn right this should be looked after its awsum

  • shouldnt this be in a museum? XD

  • You lucky S.O.B. I so envy you in a good way.. FANTASTIC

  • is this film in 1980? how you get that?

    in London?

  • I have this on casette (from The Thin Ice - until The Trial...I think). It's from Feb 1, 1980 at Paramount Studios in LA, Calif. It's a very early rehearsal - lots of mistakes. And you can hear the tension in there air. Waters says stuff to the crew during the songs and then comes back "...la la la whatever the words are..." Definitely priceless moments!

  • Oh. Just watched part one which says it's June 1980. Strange though because the Earl's Court shows weren't until August. I'd have to listen to the tapes to be sure...

It's hard to rely on people's recollections of concerts. I just talked to a guy a few weeks ago who said he saw PF on their Ummagumma tour and he claims they played Dark Side of the Moon as the encore. I didn't have the heart - or the energy - to tell him that most cdefinitely wasn't the case.

  • Thanks for posting the wall rehearsals.I was lucky enough to see this gig, scary to think this was 28 years ago!!!

RIP Richard Wright.A true English gentlemen.Sadly missed...a great loss to all Floyd fans and to all those who knew and loved him.

  • You"re so right there mate.

Gilmour's improvisation is reminicent of the brain damage improv he did on the pompeii film when they were recording DSOM. I still listen to DSOM and hear that version of brain damage evn now and wonder how it never made the final cut. Perhaps Roger didn't like it...

  • The sad part is that Roger Waters brought the Brain Damage guitarimprovisation on his tour in 2006. Funny...suddenly liked it 33 years later...

  • Gilmour's playing on what's supposed to be his second verse (where Roger is barely heard filling in) is classic Gilmour. It reminds me of the brain damage/eclipse guitar work that was on some of the outtakes. He's a master.

  • Awesome document on this part of Floyd's history man - truly appreciated.

P.S - Send the tape to the guys at harvested please!

  • cheers gods of rock

  • Thank you very much, nice to hear Roger on Comfortably Numb's chorus and David's solo (as always perfect ! )
