  • What is the point of this experiment. What is different about the water after microwaving it ???

  • too bad marijuana is not like pop corn and you could throw a seed in and instantly produce a plant.

  • funny man! I agree sometimes we need to go to extraordinary lengths to prove a point! This is great! congratulations! i just paid 3.80euro for 20 corn seeds i didnt know you could grow them from popcorn corn

  • Unless you're using boiling water to cook the seeds, i don't see why "microwaved" water would do anything to the seeds, if anything it'll help chlorine evaporate quicker so might be better for your seeds.

Also, i used to have an aquarium and instead of buying that chemical to de-chlorine the tap water, if you're willing wait and have a bucket just use tap water and let it age like 2 weeks or longer and your fish will love you.

  • @trandoductin No they won't, because these days many water companies are using chloramines instead of or as well as chlorine. Chloramines don't evaporate, so even if you leave it a month they're still in there. Just as harmful to fish as chlorine.

  • so long as you don't use boiling water as it would cook the seeds. I don't know why "microwaved" would do anything to the water. If anything it might help the water heat up a little and encourages chlorine to to evaporate. I actually think if you let tap water age, it should be better for your seeds because there's less/no chlorine in it.

  • There's no mystery about Microwaves, the frequency of 2.45 GHz is radio frequency that is a fraction of the vibrational frequencies of water. I've also heard somewhere that a fraction the frequency of protein also intersects at the at that frequency.

  • as a student of science and believer in the divine i really hope the whole "micro dead" water thing is over. seriously. snake oil ring a bell? i think those who "believe" microwaved water is incapable of supporting life or germinating plants or growing plants or whatever the heck....

loopofpop has it right. the wavelength of microwave radiation happens to be appropriate to make water molecules vibrate. THAT is heating, by definition. water gets hotter. not irradiated in some aweful way.

  • But water is not nutrition it is just moisture. And that is what seeds need to germinate..yes?? The dirt or nutrient is after they have roots.

  • why are u putting so many seeds in one pot? dont u know u will have to thin all those out? ur just wasting ur seeds. that pot will only need 2 squash seeds as they bush up then vine out..sheesh! wasteful.

  • nunca vi um gay tao estupido querendo dar a bunda desse jeito

  • NO WAIT

ive figured it out! when you TOUCHED the water as you poured it you gave it back its divine spark!

yeah, grow a new family outta some rocks

  • yeah wow

did they read their chicken bones to come up with that????

    microwaved water is

    warmer

    than non-microwaved water, and perhaps

    a lil cleaner

    k...

  • shut up ballsofsteel. I think you need to consult with your Special needs helper

  • You're planting those seeds a little too close together maybe?

  • i dont get what pple think micrwaves are, but there not harmful, only in high doses like anything. the only damage it could do is to kill the cells by heating them too much, but so could a normal cooker if you stupid enough to put your hand in the flame

  • does this work for any kind of seed?

  • i grew popcorn curnals after I popped the bag.using of course the ones that did not pop. orval brand. not that i think it matters

  • Of course it matters. It shows that the microwave doesn't kill everything like some people would have you believe! If you over cook anything it will loose nutrition, but if you use things as designed they are safe and good.

  • NO !

  • @jareddavid65 I think he meant that the brand didn't matter.

  • malato!!

  • e tutto matto hehehe

  • put limestone inside your water if there is portions of acids this will take the acid out but not entirely.:) thank you my science teacher told me!

  • lol

  • Actually, there is an urban legend that is being past around out there that claims you can't germinate seeds from microwaved water - probably pointing to the radiation. I heard this actually from my father-in-law who claims microwaves are harmful to us. I planned a similar experiment - now I don't have to do it. Thanks :)

  • distilled water is reccomended in most cases actually

  • So was the premise that microwaved water was infertile? The nutrients come from the soil.... A better project would be to see if plants can germinate, and grow, from distilled water... Even microwaved water will still contain essential trace minerals, ect...

  • the thing is, people think microwave water has "radiation" even though it's just excited to the point of boiling. And yes, plants germinate from distilled since they have a minimum amount from the seed itself
