I too have a pitbull and I trust her with my newborn. She's a very good dog to me and my family. The only reason why pitbulls have a bad rep is because of their irresponsible owners. Give a pitbull to an owner that will raise them right and you have the best dog in the world.

i've watched a few of your videos and i see that he is amazingly good with people, but i haven't seen any other animals in your videos. i'm not trying to attack you with this question but i think it's an important one. pitbulls can be very animal aggressive depending on how they were bred and brought up, BOTH have a lot to do with it. people need to know that they sometimes can be very animal aggressive as much as they need to know how good they are with people. is he good with other dogs?
i was a little younger i actually had a teacher argue with me and threaten me with detention because she made us read an article about them being terrible dogs and i stood up and said they werent. im 16 now tht was about when i was 13. i love capone (my pit) to death and he is loyal and not the least bit horrible, i mean i can wrestle woth him and he wuld not dare bite even to play, plus when your sad he understands, people like you give me hope that there are at least some rational people

Putbulls are not mean. The ones I have are all loyal to everyone in the house. Even friends of ours, the dogs are nice to them. I think Titus is a lovely dog and its a shame that both Pitbulls and Staffies have bad press upon them because immature chavs and kids use them as staus dogs to show how hard they are... Titus will guard your kids with his life and its evident that hes a loving family dog... I have a staffie cross jack russell and we have had so many negative comments and incidents where people pull their kids away just because she has staffie in her but shes 12 months old and not a vicious bone in her body....
Pittbulls are ectremely loyal dogs and they are really calm and peacefull with family members, they have high tolerance of kids and they wont bite you if raised right i can put my hand in my pitts food when hes eating and move it around and hell stop for a sec still waging his tail must i add then continues eating if your pitt bites you just for the hell of it then there were some training problems during its development.
in my opinion. do not judge pitbulls generally as their behavior depends on their blood line (chinaman, carver, etc etc) and how they are brought up. the point is do not put any child by a dog that you are not familiar with its back ground and blood line. just to be safe. same applies to all breed.

she didn't break skin or anything but left a mark and it didn't feel good but it was an accident and like i said she felt bad and showed it by licking my leg and kept her head down at me like she was really sry. i had accidentally got in the middle of them "playing rough" so i feel like it was my own fault it happened. my friend felt horrible but really it wasn't a big deal. out of the 100s of times i had been around them thats the closest i have 2 a bad experience w a pit n it wasn't even bad.

Titus seems so quiet and calm.....pits are a large active dog but they seem aware of there size and strength,,,,i have a golden retriever who isn't so aware.....my two year old got blindsided by his wagging tail recently.....she loves him though lol

I don't even work for a shelter, but speaking from experience, what makes a mean dog is a mean owner. Dogs are not aggressive toward their people by nature, they were bred not to be, but if you beat a dog or treat it poorly, it will become aggressive. It's a living thing. Wouldn't you do the same if someone mistreated you?

You have a beautiful dog =) One of my friends uses a pit bull for therapy work, and he is the sweetest, most loving dog I have ever met. I just can't believe how horrible people treat this breed, they are docile and gentle creatures. Everyone who says different is a complete idiot. The moment I get enough money I am getting a pit bull to train as a therapy dog, and people who judge be DAMNED.

The only way my dad's pit mix, Molly, would hurt anyone is if she slams her head into your jaw when she want to cuddle, which she does quite often, she's kinda clumsy. Also when you rub between her eyes with your finger long enough she falls asleep. She also gets actually noticbly depressed and mopy (yes, she actually mopes about the house) when she loses her rope, then goes absolutely bat shit crazy when she gets it back or gets a new one.

I didnt click on the video because I think the pitbulls are bad, I know better. Im a shelter volunteer and I have been walking and socializing pits for a couple of years. I have had no problems with any of them. When I have a pit bull in the exercise yard its usually the dog in the other yard that acts aggressively toward the pitbull. I have had pitbulls out on walks that ignore other dogs and keep to themselves.
@MrBigoutlaw My first pitbull was a beautiful blue pit that I adored. I had him out on a walk when we were charged by a very large black lab. My boy stayed between the black lab and myself until the owners finally got their dog. My boy never once growled or showed any aggression towards the other dog. The whole time the black lab was barking, growling, and snapping at us. That was the most amazing thing to me. I miss him everyday...
@Druidess83 Thanks for your story. My condolensces for your loss. I was walking a pit at the shelter a few days ago and she is very energetic. A woman stopped on the sidewalk a distance away and said "the dog looks crazy, keep it away".....I just pulled "Maggie" closer to me and we walked by. Im glad you got to experience the love of your dog.
I just rescued a little 5 month old pit from a shelter. I hope she grows up to be as sweet and fun loving as Titus. Any tips in raising her would be amazing. Thanks!!!

I've been bitten by a german shepherd for doing nothing at a friends house, never been bitten by a pit and I've been around a lot of them. @SnipeRRiffle1337 Pits do have a tendency towards dog aggression, its the owners responsibility to properly expose the dog to other dogs as puppies. As far as human aggression the breed standard demands that APBT show loyalty and no human aggression, in actuality the UKC doesn't recommend APBT as guard dogs because of their lack of human aggression. However, they do recommend them as family pets!!

According to ATTS breed statistics on temperament, Golden Retrievers which are renowned for being family dogs scored an 84.9%, while American Pit Bull terriers received an 86.4% (German Shepherds scored an 84.4%). ANY breed of dog, ANY, can be aggressive.

When a Pit Bull attacks a human, it's always easier to blame the animal rather than admit to our own shortcomings! Being a pet "owner" demands the same devotion and responsibilities as being the parent of a human being. Providing for their basic needs is not enough! We must educate ourselves about dog language, natural boundaries, and pack interaction. Each is unique!

i love pitbulls! my sister doesnt like pittbuls. but we went to the local ARL (arl-iowa.org)and because i volunteer there i can walk dogs. so i picked a pitbull there. & i went on a walk with my sister and i told her the dog was just a funny looking great dane. cause i kinda looked like one. and she believed me. but when we were done with the walk i told her it was a pitty. and now thats all she talks about it pity.but i think they are the most loyal, beautiful, nice, protective dog breed ever!

@TheJingle11 He needs to know his place is not to constantly baby you like that, especially if it is impacting how he treats others around your (yours and the dog's) presence. Guarding isn't a bad thing, overprotectiveness is. He shouldn't see you as his "mate," as that implies you are equal in his eyes, which isn't a great thing when trying to train a dog anything. He should be below you in the pack.

its nice to see people showing how great these dog actually are. I live in ontario and we have had a pitbull ban since 2005, in the future i plan to move, hopeful to the states and get myself one of these beautiful animals. Putbulls are not mean. The ones I have are all loyal to everyone in the house. Even friends of ours, the dogs are nice to them. So whoever thinks pitbulls are mean should just not even comment because I'm pretty sure that if their are other pitbull owners out there and their dog is nice, they will give you hell because your calling pitbulls a nasty mean dog when obviously in this vid, the dog isn't attacking the child!

I think Titus is a lovely dog and its a shame that both Pitbulls and Staffies have bad press upon them because immature chavs and kids use them as staus dogs to show how hard they are... Titus will guard your kids with his life and its evident that hes a loving family dog... I have a staffie cross jack russell and we have had so many negative comments and incidents where people pull their kids away just because she has staffie in her but shes 12 months old and not a vicious bone in her body....

Pittbulls are ectremely loyal dogs and they are really calm and peacefull with family members, they have high tolerance of kids and they wont bite you if raised right i can put my hand in my pitts food when hes eating and move it around and hell stop for a sec still waging his tail must i add then continues eating if your pitt bites you just for the hell of it then there were some training problems during its development.

in my opinion. do not judge pitbulls generally as their behavior depends on their blood line (chinaman, carver, etc etc) and how they are brought up. the point is do not put any child by a dog that you are not familiar with its back ground and blood line. just to be safe. same applies to all breed.

she didn't break skin or anything but left a mark and it didn't feel good but it was an accident and like i said she felt bad and showed it by licking my leg and kept her head down at me like she was really sry. i had accidentally got in the middle of them "playing rough" so i feel like it was my own fault it happened. my friend felt horrible but really it wasn't a big deal. out of the 100s of times i had been around them thats the closest i have 2 a bad experience w a pit n it wasn't even bad.

If/ when the dog attacks your child (god forbid) - you'll probably still be making excuses for the dog. Titus seems so quiet and calm.....pits are a large active dog but they seem aware of there size and strength,,,,i have a golden retriever who isn't so aware.....my two year old got blindsided by his wagging tail recently.....she loves him though lol

I don't even work for a shelter, but speaking from experience, what makes a mean dog is a mean owner. Dogs are not aggressive toward their people by nature, they were bred not to be, but if you beat a dog or treat it poorly, it will become aggressive. It's a living thing. Wouldn't you do the same if someone mistreated you?

You have a beautiful dog =) One of my friends uses a pit bull for therapy work, and he is the sweetest, most loving dog I have ever met. I just can't believe how horrible people treat this breed, they are docile and gentle creatures. Everyone who says different is a complete idiot. The only way my dad's pit mix, Molly, would hurt anyone is if she slams her head into your jaw when she want to cuddle, which she does quite often, she's kinda clumsy. Also when you rub between her eyes with your finger long enough she falls asleep. She also gets actually noticbly depressed and mopy (yes, she actually mopes about the house) when she loses her rope, then goes absolutely bat shit crazy when she gets it back or gets a new one.

I didnt click on the video because I think the pitbulls are bad, I know better. Im a shelter volunteer and I have been walking and socializing pits for a couple of years. I have had no problems with any of them. When I have a pit bull in the exercise yard its usually the dog in the other yard that acts aggressively toward the pitbull. I have had pitbulls out on walks that ignore other dogs and keep to themselves.

@MrBigoutlaw My first pitbull was a beautiful blue pit that I adored. I had him out on a walk when we were charged by a very large black lab. My boy stayed between the black lab and myself until the owners finally got their dog. My boy never once growled or showed any aggression towards the other dog. The whole time the black lab was barking, growling, and snapping at us. That was the most amazing thing to me. I miss him everyday...

A woman stopped on the sidewalk a distance away and said "the dog looks crazy, keep it away".....I just pulled "Maggie" closer to me and we walked by. @SnipeRRiffle1337 Pits do have a tendency towards dog aggression, its the owners responsibility to properly expose the dog to other dogs as puppies. As far as human aggression the breed standard demands that APBT show loyalty and no human aggression, in actuality the UKC doesn't recommend APBT as guard dogs because of their lack of human aggression. However, they do recommend them as family pets!!

The shepard jumps on people, nips at their faces and rough houses with everyone....but guess what my pit does??.....nothing, he sits there calmly wanting to be loved by anyone, I've had him since he was 10 weeks old and now he is 8 1/2. he is the BEST dog ever. According to ATTS breed statistics on temperament, Golden Retrievers which are renowned for being family dogs scored an 84.9%, while American Pit Bull terriers received an 86.4% (German Shepherds scored an 84.4%). ANY breed of dog, ANY, can be aggressive.

I think its amazing what you are doing.. I have a pit and i love her with all my heart. i saved her from being shot. I can't stand people that say they hate the breed. Any dog can be mean and attack people. Bad dogs are the result of bad people training them to be that way. ANY dog (or, animal) can turn aggressive, if humans are ignorant about their warning signs and fail to respect the animal. When a Pit Bull attacks a human, it's always easier to blame the animal rather than admit to our own shortcomings! Being a pet "owner" demands the same devotion and responsibilities as being the parent of a human being. Providing for their basic needs is not enough! We must educate ourselves about dog language, natural boundaries, and pack interaction. Each is unique!

I have owned nothing but pitbulls in my life and I have 2 right now, and they're the best. All my dogs have been rescue's too, they were either beaten, abdonned or left for dead from bad situations. Pitbulls are wonderful animals!

i love pitbulls! my sister doesnt like pittbuls. but we went to the local ARL (arl-iowa.org)and because i volunteer there i can walk dogs. so i picked a pitbull there. & i went on a walk with my sister and i told her the dog was just a funny looking great dane. cause i kinda looked like one. and she believed me. but when we were done with the walk i told her it was a pitty. and now thats all she talks about it pity.but i think they are the most loyal, beautiful, nice, protective dog breed ever!

I'll show ya or atleast tell ya how mean my cousins blue nose pitty is (he really isn't mean but he is over protective of me that he will litterally attack or atleast pushes ppl to the ground).
He hates everyone except for me, I even hired a dog whisperer and she said that Dominico is over protective to me that I'm like his mate (but not really).He will risk his life for me anyday. Well he is mean but he is nice all in 1 spot

@TheJingle11 He needs to know his place is not to constantly baby you like that, especially if it is impacting how he treats others around your (yours and the dog's) presence. Guarding isn't a bad thing, overprotectiveness is. He shouldn't see you as his "mate," as that implies you are equal in his eyes, which isn't a great thing when trying to train a dog anything. He should be below you in the pack.

He is over protective and yes I am aware of how dangerous it is but he has never seriously hurt anyone.
He isn't above the pack or below he is equal and I think that having him below the pack is just plain stupid I mean he should be equal. He is 1 with me

Were Titus's ears docked? How do you feel about ear docking? I used to have a pitt lab rescue that looked exactly like Blue and Titus, named Sadie. She was the best dog I've ever had, she loved to spend every minute next to me.

i have THEE most loving fantastic pit EVER, einstein. we have a game i call "scary face, grrrr!" that makes him SMILE, and i tell him all the time hes my big scary pit thats just gonna eat my face- which causes him to try to clear my sinuses with his tongue:) i also foster care cats, and have 10- that all curl up with the dog -if i had a video camera, id be posting along with you- thanks for helping debunk the mean myth

its nice to see people showing how great these dog actually are. I live in ontario and we have had a pitbull ban since 2005, in the future i plan to move, hopeful to the states and get myself one of these beautiful animals. Its amazingly disgusting some of the comments i read about pitbulls i hope one day the stereotype will change
