  • Captain Sobel, we salute the rank, not the man.

  • tears go up when i hear that sound, remember all sacrifices and heros of this war

  • Why go through all this trouble defending the U.S. when it's never been worth defending?

  • @crazycrows1 They went through all that trouble defending it so you could go and say something stupid like that. I see by your statement that unfortunately some people don't understand how lucky they are to live with the freedoms that these people fought for. You may feel it's not worth defending, but that's because you take for granted everything that has been hard-earned for you. If this country didn't earn the world so many liberties, you would have been hung up for treason for saying that.

  • @crazycrows1 I'm Australian. A country founded by convicts and the lower class of the British Empire, vagabonds and the world desperate looking for their last chance in life. i would, with out a weapon, go to war and lay down my life with out a second thought. not because of my mad Irish ancestory, but because I love my country with every ounce of my being, but only because every ounce of my being is Australian.

  • @crazycrows1 it wasn't about defending a nation, more of defending the right to live free and peaceful. It was about defending those loved ones back home from the evil third reich. These brave lads, of all forces, American, British, Canadian, Austrailian etc, all fought united against the same enemy for the same reasons, god bless them all.

  • I've recently made a "cover" of this song, feel free to visit, subscribe and like! :) thanks ahead ;)

  • I want this song to be played at my funeral

  • "Remember boys...flies spread disease, so keep yours...closed" XD I love that line.

  • A real hero doesn't wear a cape, he wears dogtags and a helmet.

  • @TheRobloxfighter or a fireproof suit and a helmet...just sayin

  • @TheRobloxfighter no no.. a REAL HERO watches his brothers to the left and right of him

  • @RedLakeNation2009 and their 6

  • Such a beautiful song

  • grandpa, were you a hero in the war?

no...but i served in a company of heros

  • @littlemontev everyone was a solider there were not heros just brave people and just because they were on a show dose not mean they are heros and if they are your grandfather is one to

  • @littlemontev yes... so weve heard for like the millionth time already.

  • Niii ilus pala ja film on ka super :) niii kurb on ikka mida need mehed pidid oma elu jooksul kogema :(

  • COMO SE LLAMA EL TEMA!?

  • Every side has its heroes, but no war has a good side and an evil side. The tiranic governments of the 20th century were, as tirany often is, horrible, but that does not mean that the USA was the good side. If you are not ignorant, you know every country and government will do what it takes to be richer and more powerful. There is no good and no evil. There is only greed and the one that is strong enough to reclaim it.

  • Somehow this song reminds me of Flak 88's

  • Beautifull magnificent song!!

  • rip to the composer who did this

  • Let us never forget the American, Britsh, Canadian, French, Belgian, German, Polish, Italian, Russian, Japanese, and Chinese lives and the other lives that were lost in this tragic war.

  • Listen to Bruce Anderson singing this, its amazing

  • Does anyone know if they put the sample of Blithe in Chapter 3 where he's looking down at the dead paratrooper he shot and he takes the flower, that orcastral sequence was epic, I'd love to get it ;)

  • This is a great peace of Music.. Easy Company are my heroes...The Men who died for their countries as well as men from Britain and men from Canada.

  • I think its rather, amazing how good the Germans stood strong against so many opponents, not that i wanted germany to win, but they really had some amazing strategies, and held on to the last.

  • if they surrendered earlier, theyd have saved alot of lives :(

  • Ok everyone did their part in the war, British did a good job keeping the germans locked down and America fought on two fronts, Pacific which midway which was the MOST important naval battle in WWII. So don't act like people stole glory from anybody, we were all allies and won against the germans.

  • @unwrittenchaos well maybe they did. the americans DID play an important role, but look who gets left out of most of the movies and miniseries. CANADA AND THE UK. Canadians have got all, what, ummmm.... 1 MOVIE. UK maybe 4 or 5, but the USA, name one, and it'll be american. nobody's saying ANYBODY stole the glory, but the Commonwealth hardly gets any credit at all.

  • @Litterboxer529

Canada practically did nothing during WWII. And when they did, it didn't matter.

  • @ModernWarfareChick yes we did u fucking dumbass. on D-Day (which my grandfather participated in), Canada was the only country to have the whole beach taken and secure they're entire objective. by D+14, they took Caen, and not the americans or british. so dont you dare fucking say that we lost 41,000 men for nothing, you dumbass prick.

  • @Litterboxer529

Jesus, I'm sorry! :( I guess I was thinking more of the lines of Germany itself. My bad.

  • @Litterboxer529 that's because maybe juno was like the easiest to capture. the americans had the hardest - omaha.

  • @jck1794 Juno was still difficult. Utah and Gold were the easiest. Omaha was defnatly the hardest, then Sword, then Juno.

  • @Litterboxer529

yes ohmaha was by far the most difficult to take, but the american military new about that all along and had planned casulaites of around 5,000 - 6,000

the bombing raid on ohmaha was a failure and they only had 1 of 29 DD-tanks on the beach

everything that could of gone wrong there did!

  • my arse didnt, they, they attacked juno beach, they fought at the battle of the scheldt, including walcherren island which was the most defended german posistion in the whole of europe. and they fought the SS on several occasions.

  • @ModernWarfareChick That is an incredibly ignorant way of looking at history. The Canadians were fighting long before we were, and took at least some part in most major battles in the ETO. Go back and study history (and pull your head out of your butt) before you make another post like that

  • @dandoosh90

Dear Lord, for the last time, I'm freaking SORRY! And by the way, I probably know a lot more about history than you do, just not CANADA! (I just don't particularly care for them, that's WHY)

  • @ModernWarfareChick another incredibly arrogant (and incorrect) assessment. If you knew much more about history than me, you might have acknowledged the fact that we weren't the only ones fighting the Nazis

  • @Litterboxer529 I could not agree with you more. Americans getting all he Glory. Just look at the start of Saving Private Ryan. American American American!

  • @gunsandtanks Finally someone agrees with me.

  • @Litterboxer529 Lol you think he/she is the only one? I hate it when only America is given respect for what they did. True it was a lot, but the Russians sacrificed so much I find it difficult to put into words. The French continued to resist German rule even when conquered. The Germans had a better army than several countries combined. The Japanese went to their deaths for honour and glory. And those are only a few examples.

  • @RealDougal and the Russians as well. nobody seems to care about the other countries in the war OTHER than the USA

  • @Litterboxer529 USSR saved the west's asses. Without them, Hitler would have easily fended us off.

  • @austinm911 i know right. USSR doesnt ever get enough credit either.

  • @austinm911 Russia was on the east front. they didnt really help the west front so when the germans fell on the western front it was because of the brits and americans.

  • @RealDougal I'd have to disagree with the "honor and glory" part. There was nothing honorable or glorious in the way the Japanese conducted themselves during the war, unless of course you count the mass executions of civilians and POW's alike, and strapping themselves into planes only to ram them into allied ships.

  • @RealDougal The Germans were in Paris within two weeks... that really isnt very impressive. And you havent even mentioned the huge roles that the Royal Navy, the RAF and the British troops who fought against Rommel in Africa.

  • @stucool17 I did say those were only a FEW examples, didn't I? There's a limit to the amount Youtube comments can hold after all...

  • @stucool17 im a brit, but the germans in africa were heavily out numbered and we still nearly lost to them

  • @Eddyvanjones Yeah because the british tanks could barely touch the german panzers and it took a tactical genious like montgomery to overcome the odds, which were in the germans favor.

  • @stucool17 the germans had so few tanks that made no difference

they relied on air supieriority and accurate artillary

and the panzers were not that indestrucitable, they could just out manouvre the allied tanks, giving them a huge advantage on the battlefield

  • @stucool17 Sorry mate. check your history. Montgomery was a Glory hunting fool. In Africa he was getting the German (Rommel) Troop movements via ULTRA. and the forces on Malta were making it difficult for the Germans to get supplies through. then in Europe Every 'plan' but forward by Montgomery was a failure. SHAEF (IKE) was at the point of relieving him of his command So he pulled his head in a obeyed orders. the ONLY reason he stayed was his links to royalty. READ YOUR HISTORY PLEASE!!!!

  • @slatibaadfast There is no truth that Eisenhower had plans to relieve Montgomery.

  • @berlinmitte10117

Extract from letter written by Eisenhower to Montgomery early Jan 1945.

Over the “subject of command” re the battle of the bulge offensive.

“I would deplore the development of such unbridgeable gulf of convictions between us that we would have to present our differences to the Combined Chiefs of Staff”. But if Monty went any further that was what he would do.

Montgomery Knew that if Eisenhower did that then he would be relieved of command. As I said. Read your history.

  • @Litterboxer529 you may attribute this to the fact that the directors of most of these movies are obviously American

  • @dandoosh90 i know. but there are movie geniouses in Canada that have never made a decent WWII film.

  • This Show changed my life... it changed the way I look at war. It showed me that we fight for a just cause.

  • R.I.P :'(

  • beautiful and sad

  • u guys ...views aside this is an amazing piece of music that somehow captures the somewhat grim and terrible "feel" of this war.. bit of respect for all those involved... from all sides...

  • its actually;

from this day , to the ending of the world, we in it will be rememberd,

    we lucky few

    we band of brothers,

for he who today sheds his blood with me , shall be called my brother

    xx

  • Ah he produced a truelly beautiful score, to a truely legendary series.

I am however a littler bitter than 'the pacific' cannot be shown to the wider UK audience

  • We will remember Michael Kamen for all times!

  • "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.

For he to-day that sheds his blood with me,

    Shall be my brother"

    Best series ever!

  • I love the quote from Maj. Winters

"Grandpa said no. But I've served in a company of heroes."

    chills everytime

  • @CaptScottMitchell you're right man, a epic serie

  • Thought the series was great, the music is so moving, and could be used as a fitting tribute to our British lads that we seem to be loosing at an alarming rate in Afganistan, our 'Band of Brothers'. That being said it is a fitting to represent any group of soldiers from any army on what ever side who pay the ultimate price of courage in the company of their 'brothers' in arms.

  • long live all the men and women of the soviet red army that faught in the could and dark of stalingrad to save the people of the world and long live all veterans of that war german , russian ,amarican , british ,ext

  • Michael Kamen, rest in piece. Your music will never be forgotten....

  • is it just me, or do you get goosebumps at the beginning and 1:34 ?

its just so strange, in a way i dont understand.

  • Me too.

I almost feel like crying when I hear this tune or see the episodes.

  • My great uncle James, he was saved by his own gun. He got up to run across this field type thing and then as he ran, a sniper shot came and hit the butt of his gun. Which was over his chest and it stopped the bullet.

  • My grandfather never even got to use his in combat. He was driving a universal carrier. One night, some guy accidentally took his rifle and when he heard mortar shells incoming he panicked, dropped the gun and bolted. BAM. mortar right on the gun. My grandfather got a sten after that.

  • Band oF brothers FTW! ;))))

  • haunting yet beautifull

  • cant we just say

    AIRBORNE!!!

  • yes but the yanks seem to like basking in the limelight,my grandfather served in that war and always said that the yanks seem to like showing what they did,but not what everyone did which is sad

  • This soundtrack is full of emotion and passion, it show us of what the world went through and what it is still going through, all in all this song is a classic.

  • Damn beautifal music. Almost makes me think about boys no older than my 17 year old self dying so i can be here today and come on youtube and listen to this. A mere and sincere thank you.

  • My friends grandfather stepped on a land mine and got his hole squad off the field before sacrificing himself.

  • this track brings tears to my eyes every time, i play it, i just think about my great uncle who faught in the second world war, and who was KIA in a village just over the rhine,i never met him, but im grateful for his efforts and all those who faught as well, im grateful that i can live in a country that is free of an evil regime. If it wasn't for my uncle, i wouldn't be here right now, if it wasn't for all those brave men we wouldn't be living in a world like this today, god bless them all.

  • @8Ball2221 my great uncle died as well in WWII. he died in Belgium, October, 1944

  • @8Ball2221 if it wasn't for all those brave men we wouldn't be living in a world like this today - I agree with you on that, but today's world is fucked up bro

  • @Cropheus very true, there is no need for war, the world has suffered enough, but i guess its ok me saying this, but will it really happen?

  • @8Ball2221 Wow that must be hard, even though you never was able to meet him. he was a hero for fighting that war, and even a bigger hero to die for his country and all those other european Countries. Im from Holland and i would like to thank your grandpa for the sacrifice he made for the sake of my country. God bless him

  • @8Ball2221 you gonna make me cry!!!!!but great messege

  • @mrkev177 oh,im touched!what the fuck is going on with you people?!the ''evil''Germans and the ''evil'' regime.I bet that you all are sucking filthy jewish cocks and say nonsense like these!

  • @TheFlak36 you dont understand the effect that conflict has on the human race.

  • @8Ball2221 how do you know that? And what has that to do with my comment?

  • @TheFlak36 So you believe that the Nazis and Hitler were justified in killing off a great number of Jews and other ethnic groups? You support the mass slaughtering of human beings? If it makes you feel better it wasn't so much the Germans that were evil since Hitler tried to hide his concentration camps from the public.

  • @gamerlayne Of course I believe that they were justified. Why dont you wake up and look what THEY are doing today.Υοu are watching movies like these and youre sorry for the ''poor'' jews, while they are doing a lot worse things(to the Palestinians for example)

  • @TheFlak36 The Palestinians have been doing bad things too if you would take off your Jew hate goggles and see things for what they really are. In history the handling of Jews was poorly done, and the fact that they even had to be handled is racism in its own right. Basically the world pushed the Jews and Palestinians into the conflict they're in now. What ethical sense does it make to slaughter human beings? God people are so full of shit sometimes it makes me sick.

  • @gamerlayne I didnt say that the Palestinians dont do bad things.I know what a muslim is capable of.Im a Greek and my grandparents told allot of terrible things of what they saw in Asia Minor

  • @TheFlak36 I feel sorry for you...

You go by life with hate by your side.

If you saw a Jew walk down the street beside you, You would look on with Hatred.

If i saw a Jew walk down the street beside me...well i wouldnt think anything.

Just another human being with a different view point of life. Nothing new...

  • @EmsionProductions I have seen a rhabbi in my city a long time ago.I swear he was exactly accurate as described in Hitlers ''Mein Kampf''.

''These people have seen for weeks no more soap''.Filthy parasites.

  • @TheFlak36 if you were half a man i would punch you out cold. but since you already have no sense about you i will simply say this: you are worth less than the bar of soap those Jews couldn't get their hands on because of the oppression they have been under since their country has begun. you are the parasite who cannot accept the idea of beauty in human hearts. just shut the hell up.

  • @grlnblk16 JEW DETECTED

  • @TheFlak36 nope, american, of swedish lineage, but i see no reason to hate someone because of their race or religion.

  • @TheFlak36 although i am not a jew, i am honored to be put in their lot

  • @grlnblk16 I need a Luger

  • @TheFlak36 Why do you hate people for their race and religion?

Are you one of those people who piss themselves every time they see a Muslim, Jew or Hindu walking down the street?

Go have sexual Intercourse Hitlers Corpse you piece of filth.

P.S. Ive got a luger and i would more than gladly shoot you with it.

  • @TheFlak36 as you can see i no longer respect your opinion, because it came to me that i shouldnt respect an opinion which is fueled with Hatred toward another race or religion.

I realized this when i walked to college this morning, I saw a Jewish Child walking with his mother to school, I could see that he was no different to any other child i had seen walking to that school today.

as i got through the college doors i had an overwhelming feeling of regret that i had respected your opinion.

  • @TheFlak36 I suggest you think to yourself fo a moment, who is the real monster, The innocent boy walking to school or YOU.

You are nothing less than a monster.

  • @EmsionProductions Im saying the same thing to you.You dont know what is happening in my country. In many cities the citizens have to protect their families themselves from the muslim invaders because the police does nothing.

P.S. I say again, just make me a favor and take a look at the video Who really started World War 2.Im curious of what your comments going to be.

  • @TheFlak36 and what country is this...hmmmmm

btw Nazi Germany started WW2 by invading poland, hitler killed the jews out of pure hatred.

heres a fact for you did you know hitlers grandfather followed the jewish religion, and that he used to sell his paintings to jews before WW1.

  • @EmsionProductions HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheFlak36 Isnt it funny how you may laugh at my views and FACTS, but the WHOLE world laughs straight back at you.

    sad little man

  • @EmsionProductions thanx so much for standing against this jerk, its nice to know that there are sane people still in this world

  • @EmsionProductions What you are writing is funny

  • @TheFlak36 I can tell i have won my argument, seeing as that you are no longer bothering to argue back.

Not suprising really... i didnt expect much from such an uneducated individual.

  • @EmsionProductions No.Its just boring to tell things that would seem reasonable.

You are not the only one. Here in Greece I can find 100 jerks like you in less than 5 minutes.

  • @TheFlak36 Well fucking prove me wrong, then those "Jerks" and i will shut up.

but so far your argument is backed up by opinions and hatred. This will not win you an argument.

  • @EmsionProductions I shall prove you wrong? Why dont you wake up look at the situation your country is?I have a comrade in England who informs about whats happening there.I have seen videos that made me wonder if that was England. The answer is all around.

  • @TheFlak36 What "situation"?There isnt anything bad happening in my country? I see people of different Races and religions going about their day to day lives like every other human being, Nothing that should be described as evil.I doubt that there are jews that support the Isreal government, my collage tutor lived in Isreal for a number of years but moved due to growing fears and tensions in the area, but above all he moved because of what the government was doing to palastine etc.

  • @EmsionProductions The same thing, exactly, are saying the politicians here and first of all the communists. They dont live in some poor area.they dont know how it is to be afraid to go outside of your own house. But we have to tolerate all the crimes of the immigrants in Greece, otherwise they are blame us as racists.

  • @TheFlak36 I agree with you, the Isreal government is doing horrible things to Palastine and should stop. but to blame the WHOLE Jewish community around the world for the crimes of one country is absurd. Its like blaming all Muslims for the 9/11 attacks back in 2001.

p.s. When addressing or describing someone from Britain, you call him either British or if you want to be specific you call them either Welsh, English, Scottish or Northern Irish. I am welsh so in future call me British :D

  • @TheFlak36 you are seriously screwed up. get a life. if all you have to live for is hate, then you will never really live at all.

  • @grlnblk16 If you lived in my country, you might understand me.

  • @TheFlak36 i understand you. however my opinion of you does not change.

but no matter what country you are from, it does not give you right to hate a certain race. I don't hate the germans for killing my great uncle and causing the eventual death of my grandfather in WWII, that was war, and that war is over and resolved. the descendants of those germans are not to blame for the sins of their forefathers.

  • @grlnblk16 So you suggest me just to take down my pants and wait until they fuck me.Ιm speaking about the present too,not just the past..You wouldnt speak like that about the Germans if you lived the same time with your grandfather, right? You wouldnt say that it is not right to hate the Germans. My forefathers fought bravely against the Germans too,and like you Im not hating them.Do you understand what Im trying to tell you?

  • @TheFlak36 opps, accidentally 'thumbed up ur comment, sry :) (for real)

anyway, i was just showing an example of how i could hate someone, but dont. yes, if i had lived in the 1940's i would hate the germans. BUT like i said, i do not hate them now, because the germans who live now are not the same as those who came before. how are the Jews (that is who u r talking about right) F**ing you? the only violence the jews commit is that of self defense. how can u hate them 4 that?

  • @grlnblk16 1.I dont hate the Germans too, because they are not the same as before, like you sayed.

2.The jews are the same as then. They never change.

3.Is it self defense when they kill Palestinian WOMEN and CHILDREN?

  • @TheFlak36 when have the jews ever lined up Palestinian women and children and shot them point blank? ever? on record, i mean. anyone can tell a story, but few have the courage to state the truth. perhaps men and women in the jewish army have accidentally killed Palestinian civilians, but so is war. however, the radical Muslims have done such things, and worse. not to mention what the Nazis (who you affiliate yourself with) use YOUR mind, not what others have told you.

  • @grlnblk16 Look at the video ''An Israeli tank kills an innocent kid in Palestine",for example. It doesnt look to me like an accident.

  • @TheFlak36 oh yeah, the isreali's are out to kill us all!! that's why innocent men WOMEN and CHILDREN were slaughtered in the concentration camps in WWII by Hitler. right. look, i dont know, maybe this isreali tank dude really was trying to roll over that poor kid, but PLEASE will you STOP smashing all the jews into your mold of villian? there is always a dufus in every group of people, but don;t blame the whole for the problems of the minority.

  • @TheFlak36 I visited New York last week, a wonderful city.

I was astounded to see many different People who follow many different religions live side by side, not in anger or hatred but in friendship.

They loved each other no matter the difference, i saw a Jewish child play soccer with a muslim child in harmony.

    No conflict.

    No Hate.

  • @TheFlak36 The reasons to why Isreal do such terrible things to Palastine Bewilders me, but i Know for a FACT that Not all Jews are Evil.

    Im sorry for you.

  • @EmsionProductions Yeah.I agree. Not all jews are evil. But why dont you take a look to their religion? From the time they accept and belive all this I have a reason to be against. And Im not the only one.

  • @TheFlak36 Ok heres a plan for you, instead of studying JUST the jewish religion in general why dont you compare Muslim, Hindu etc.

No religion doesnt have a bad bunch or any extremist group.

You can call any member of a religion "A filthy parasite"

I do hope your not a Neo Nazi yourself are you?

  • @EmsionProductions I agree with you on that.

And Im a Nazi, not a Neo Nazi.It means National Socialist,in case you dont know.

  • @TheFlak36 dont get me wrong, i will always respect the views and opinions of others. as i respect yours.

Im not stopping you from believing in National socialism.

but please may you stop the anti Jew opinions, most of them are a nice bunch of people e.g. my mate in collage is jewish.

  • @EmsionProductions Ιf you really respect my opinion, thank you,and Im not getting you wrong.

But I cant do what you are saying. You cant be a Nazi and NOT be an anti-jew.The NSDAP was the greatest anti-jew movement ever.

  • @TheFlak36 Hey I am jewish do you hate me?

  • @8Ball2221 Made me cry. :/

  • @CaptRonaldSpeirs yeah same here, war is a horrible place

  • If Hitler wasn't such a dumbass and bombed the RAF Fields instead of London, the Germans would have won the Battle of Britain and would have most definitely taken it over, leaving the Allies no place to stage an invasion of Europe. And guys, please don't fight. I think that ALL Allies deserve credit for victory in WWII, whether they are British, American, Canadian, Chinese, Australian, etc.

    We all deserve some hUgZ!1!1!!

  • Most Army types I've known (Including me) just did their jobs, wanted to go home to their familys,Wether it be Russian,British,German,,American or Iraqi. I fought in a war,I did'nt fight it for country,Mom and apple pie,I fought it for my battle buddies,Just like all the rest of the above mentioned. This song is for my brothers, weather they be Russian,British,German,American and yes even Iraqi, For we shared the hardships in the Military." For he who shed his blood is my brother"

  • Most honest comment on the emotional aspect of war i've ever read. And cheers for your comprehensive look on those on the other side. Wish we could have more reflection like this and less brainless patriots.

  • Guys enjoy the nice music. War is horrible. And you argue. Think about it...

  • The great thing is that while fools from every country come here to argue soldiers from those countries still do their duties.

  • i find it funny that all of you are bashing on america, after listening to the music from a american war movie. which means you obviously liked the movie enough to care to look up the music from it...just funny.

  • @jamezy and lil homey

    agree.

i just wished it was an englishman who done 9/11.

    x

  • agreed

  • oh btw

for all you americans who think your country is awesom for saving britains ass.. WHICH YOU DIDNT.

how was vietnam ??? got ur ass's kicked dint ya??

  • couldnt agree with you more...

you couldnt even beet a fuckin army of people who cant open theyre eyes properly

and your president is black !

  • @lilhomie742

''Some Englishmen, of whom Kitchener was chief, believed that a rebellion of Arabs against Turks would enable England, while fighting Germany, simultaneously to defeat Turkey. Their knowledge of the nature and power and country of the Arabic-speaking peoples made them think that the issue of such a rebellion would be happy: and indicated its character and method. So they allowed it to begin...'' Seven Pillars of Wisdom

  • Retard....

I did see your profile....l was being ironic!

The Mid east conflict goes way back to the Crusades and Catholic Church...way way back!

Being a yank with no sense of history or idea of irony l look forward to you continuing to make a complete ass of yourself on here!

Gives me something to chuckle at!!

  • Why would one say that? 1st of all, Vietnam was lost through terms of deceit, not due to terms of military prowess. 2nd, aren't you happy that the Americans actually helped? What would happen if soldiers like those in the 101st Airborne never fought in the war?

  • The fact that u came in towards the end and take all the glory is just pathetic.

a lot of you americans seem to think you won the war. i wouldnt quite say that. would say that britain had a hell of a lot more to do with it than you guys.

  • I seem to find that quite ignorant. I am from the islands of the Philippines. The English were so much durable than the Americans. The English endured the German Attack on the UK, and still managed to dish out a large number of enemy causalities. If the Americans never helped, the 3 fronts would have never been formed properly.

  • Vietnam was a conflict, the US pulled out of the war before the war was even over. To the US it was a CONFLICT!

  • To the Vietnamese in VN, they called it the American war, but to us here, we called it "VN" war. As a kid growing up in VN, I still had bullet holes in my wall, and father served time in prison just because we had an American flag drawn on our wall outside of the house, by the American soldier.

  • i agree, to turn off comments would be a good idea

  • Sigh, how wonderful that people are bickering about such meaningless nonsense.

What a great way to honor the people that died so we could have a chance to better our lives.

    On it goes, i guess.

  • he was however smart enough to invade your country and stay in it for 4 years. I suggest you grow up and learn history so you realise that many Brittish and canadian soldiers died giving you your country back

  • You're an idiot.

The US didn't win the second world war, infact they didn't really do that much. The Russians won it.

Also, Hitler COULDN'T invade Britain, we controlled the skies, hence making invasion by the German tactic of Blitzkrieg impossible. Any other tactic would of failed - as we had plenty of time to prepare for a sea invasion, and a sea invasion would of failed.
