I prefer the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it gets hotter to 460F for all textures, cause less damage to the hair and keeps my hair soft, shiny and very straight, I luv it :D
If you want a professional flat iron and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your hair.
i like it bc the iron is square shape which i like for my bangs..my hair is medium length...if gives your bangs a more square shape...mine is not a swivel cord though! i want to return it for a swivel cord one...is your cord swivel? You cannot curl with it at all is it so gross for curls...
Not with the one she is using, I have this one. I'm pretty sure she has the 1.5" one like I do. The plates on this have a rectangular shape. To curl your hair you need one that has a curved shape to it. Sedu makes one, it's 1" and its called the Sedu revolution pro nano. It is specifically for styling hair, not just straightening it.
that wasn't a nice thing to say and why would you straighten your hair if it wasn't nappy that would be just stupid lol straight haired people straightening their hair lol. But I do hope this vid isn't how it would work on all afro hair because my gold n hot leaves my hair looking that way and I hate but it may just be her cam
i used to love my sedu! til it died a year after buy in it! soo dissapointed! but i will totally get another one.. cause i've tried other brands like chi, ghd and its nothing like this.. i love my sedu it leaves my hair soo straight~
if the GHD works well for you, keep using it. There's no reason to sell your flat iron and spend more money to buy another. Wait till yours stops performing at its best to buy a new one.
You know it's working for you, so keep it. You can never be sure something will be good for you until you try it. You have something that's good, so don't throw it away. Plus it was a gift!
i have wavy,curly,frizzy,heavy,thick,coarse hair
im thinking about gettin a flat iron that will fix all of those problems
should i get the sedu or the solia?
i want something that will heat up fast, will make my hair silky, smooth, straight(really pin straight),can do other styles, will fight humidity and frizz, and a flat iron that will last over 2-3 years
CHI's are great once you first get them. But the wires eventually break within a couple months. And it completely fries your hair, no matter what kind of heat protection you use, over time, the chi will definitely kill your hair. I had one, lasted about 2 and a half months, before it wore down. I was extremely careful with it too, knowing that they break very easily. So I don't recommend buying one for the price, if it's going to break. I've had my sedu over two years, strongly recommend it. :)
Thanks a lot :) Really appreciate the response. I've been wanting to get a good flat iron but for the summer months because although my hair is straight in the NYC heat it goes insane. My cousin has a sedu and she has really curly hair and her hair looks better than mine. I'm glad it doesn't ruin hair. YAYE :) thanks :)
Reply to PriNcESsTrAySeE yeah it may void the warranty if not purchased from Babyliss on line but I would rather pay the 25.00 for it @ T J Maxx bc u still have to pay to ship the item back to company : ) So if you pay 10.00 for shipping plus 5 for the box and tape you might as well get it from T J Maxx: )
it keeps up well with humidity. I've walked in the rain days after straightening my hair with the sedu and just a slight bit of frizz compared to the drugstore conair straightener I used.
My flat iron costs 30.00 at Big Lots it is a Ceramic Silk they have an infomercial that says it costs 100.00 Anywho it heats up to 450 degrees. : ) It is awesome you just gotta know where to shop : ) By the way T J Maxx selly Babyliss Flat irons there for 24.99 I just got a Babyliss hair dryer : )
The problem with buying hair appliances from places like TJ Maxx (not an authorized seller) is it voids the warranty of the appliance. Babyliss typically offers a 4 year manufacturer's warranty which is void when not purchased from a legit seller which holds the account. It may only cost a fraction of what it should, buying it from TJ Maxx, but know in advance that if and when that flat iron breaks down the company will not fix or replace it for you. You will have to purchase a new one .
My flat iron gets my hair exactly like that and its noy a sedu or CHI, its a GVP from Sallys ...same thing. You're paying for the name, not the actual product or quality
Did your hair revert pretty fast like over the course of a day or how long when you used the Maxiglide? I am debating between that and the Sedu? Can anyone tell me which one makes the style last the longest?
omg I'm not even kidding I just bought a Maxiglide and it came in last week so I tried it out this weekend and it suck. Seriously. It's heavy and it doesn't even straighten my hair bone straight it's poofy and it took me three hours and I'm not satisfied. Don't waste your money.
Well I kid you not It doesn't work and it's not worth the money at all. But everyone has different hair so It could work for you.I would send it back but I ordered it ofline and I didn't print the receipt. So... I'm out of luck.
That sucks. My curls are tight and my hair is thick so I don't think it would work to well for my hair type. Have you found another flat iron that you like? I am worried about buying one that will damage my hair. I don't think I will flatten my hair but twice a year, or maybe in the winter when humidity is lower.
Does the flatiron change the curl pattern of your hair? I wore my hair flatironed for many years and now that I wear it curly the curl pattern is straight in some areas. I would like to be able to wear it straight again, but don't want to ruin my curl pattern.
I prefer the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it gets hotter to 460F for all textures, cause less damage to the hair and keeps my hair soft, shiny and very straight, I luv it :D
