I was a special ed teacher in NYS. I had to leave after 6 years. Teaching in the states is a very difficult thing to do now. I think they only hired me because they want more male in the schools. Great job but I think teachers get more respect in other countries than here at home.
I have a friend who moved to Germany and teaches there. She love it and reports that the kid are there to learn.
I miss teaching but don't think I would want to be that far away from home. I admire what you do.
Thanks for the comment I appreciate it. It is difficult to be away from home and for so long but it is a great experience and you learn so much after all students teach their teachers more than the teacher teaches their students. And you are right, there is more respect in other countries; but everyone has to keep up the good fight.
