i bought a new ps3 caus my old phat 40 GB had the yellow light of death and i was wondering if i switch the HDD with the 40 GB in the new slim 1, would the warranty of my new slim cancel?? i heard if u do something like that it would cancel the warranty so if my new slim ps3 ever broke down i wouldn't be able to exchange it well plz reply and thanx!!!!!
@berealkid Yes the hard drives from the ps3's are the same as the ones on laptops make sure it's 2.5 SATA HDD not a 3.5 SATA HDD the 3.5 SATA HDD are much bigger.
yes I believe you will be able to since well you are in a sense "upgrading" the HD although it would prolly still help if you had an external HD so you can place all your information before doing the method.
my ps3 broke can I take my old hdd (with all my saved data) and put it in a new ps3

i just found out how to switch data you just have 2 use an ethernet cable and well i dnt know but look around the ps3 menu

Seems simple enough, but I have a couple more questions regarding this...
1. How am I able to backup my PS3 memory? Because Im still going to want all the memory I have on my current HD
2. Where can I purchase a new HD that works with the PS3.
