  • I know the original is in C major, is this version?

  • @LJTravis95 What piece/song is this?

  • so much happy.

  • @AdrianRojasF well then ... go back to your heavy metal

  • @kevnott I'll go back to François Rabbath, Lucian Ciorata, Thomas Martin and Mark Morton :)

  • Bass players do have a sense of humor!

  • hes as good as me...jk

  • Gary=Swagg

  • I can't help but feel amused by the fact that everybody knew when to laugh at his performance. Guess I may never understand xD

  • 4 heavy metal fanboys

  • @DASCHICKENMAN Oi! I'm a heavy metal fanboy but i'd give this 100 thumbs up. To say fans of heavy metal are musically ignorant... not cool.

  • @ATtTheGates hey man im just making a point im a fan of heavy metal but who would click on this and give it a thumbs down?

  • @DASCHICKENMAN Heavy metal fanboys of course

  • @DASCHICKENMAN yeah i know right. Glad your a versitile music appreciater

  • para un recital de bajos

  • i love the showmenship

  • Did he play this in solo tuning? Or orchestral? Because I would love to play it, but only know orchestral.

  • @ZackBassP this is in solo tuning, he's playing it in B (solo key), but you can just play it in C(orchestral key), and you'll be playing the same pitches

  • i love his sound... it's like... actually the double bass played well, instead of someone trying to play the cello on the bass.

  • hmm, he seems to be playing this in Bb

  • Absolutely amazing ... can't say anything else so I don't demean such amazing talent.

  • AMAZING!!!

  • lol

    Novoline

  • icecreame truck song lol

here in germany icetrucks make only

    brrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiing

  • There's nothing a French bow can't do that a German bow can't ... and vice-versa

That being said, I find upbows much stronger on a German but bouncing to be much easier on a French.

  • @BrightonInWindsor I agree most definetly! When i wan't a more stacatto feel I definetly go with the French bow, but I do tend to prefer the German bow because while you can get good volume from either if you know what to do, I find it easier with a german.

  • I heard that when told that a french bow couldn't match the sound of a german bow, without a word, Gary picked up a french bow, and there was no difference. Bow is preference. Anybody who tells you that one bow has an advantage over another, in any way, is using that as an excuse to avoid practicing. What minimal advantages there might be, can be completely negated by practice.

  • @KCMmmmm Well if you know what to do then you sould be able to get good volume from both. But you're spot on with the preference thing, although some people do, do better with one bow or the other.

  • Gosh look at his face! Does he look like he is enjoying the piece or what......?

I love that look, but I can't quite figure out what it is.

  • lol its the ice scream truck song..rememeber?

  • I once met him, he's a really funny guy

  • does anyone has the sheets for this??

  • my friend is playing with him on Sunday at UW. just thought id check him out. hes funny

  • y does like everyone use a german bow but me?

  • i dont

  • try, you will feel the difference imediattly !

  • It's alot to do with personal preference. I like the German bow because it's a hell of alot easier on my right hand and I am alot more comfortable with it, especially since I do play alot of pizzicato, I can grab it out of my bow quiver and "BOOM"! I'm already in playing position whereas with the French, I would have to position the bow.

  • the franch method is better for performing FAST pieces, but still..........the german method came a long way and resolved that problem (it.s far more powerfull the G method :)

  • what is the G method???

  • the G method isn.t in any method is my personal saying for the GERMAN style :)

  • i use the german boy because this was the past present and the future, a hole lot stronger, the fastest french method player is Renaud Garcia Fons ant the fastest in the german method is Roman Patkolo, try to hear them and it will give you some energy into it !

  • German bow gives you power and French bow gives you agility - for normal people. For these guys it shouldn't matter, because they are already wicked good. For us normal people, we prefer our lives easier...

  • anything is easy as long as you understand it and aply the knowledge.

  • The question is how. This is the big question every musician is after. You can spend hours in the practice room and still going nowhere, or you can daydream about it and somehow get good. (Both of which happened to me. Though I still think it is a miracle that I got out of my last jury in one piece)

  • love it

  • he's fuckin amazing

  • freakin amazing! i dont see how it was funny though :P

gosh even HE uses a german bow..

  • wow is Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bassists are naturally stand-up comedians.

By the way, Antonio Stradivari was not known for making basses - in fact, some sources mentioned he never actually built a bass.

  • he's made a harp, a guitar, a lute, and many violins violas and cellos

but no bass.... there's no proof he did

  • poor Joplin.... Another trouble for him...

  • great sense of humour!

  • virtuoso!

  • Lol. Amazing

  • i love it! I cant stop watching it!

  • I love it!!!! I cant stop watching it! du da du du de da duuuu!

  • his double bass is Strad tats y i sounds crystal clear

  • there are no strad basses

  • I'd love to see the actual performance

  • so fun!
