@ClassicKnuckles ...If you go only by top 40 hits, then Hendrix was a one hit wonder. But I don't see it that way. Grand Funk was an awesome rockin' band when Axl Rose was still poopin his diapers. They had 10 songs that made the U.S. top 40 (that's more than GNR)..and another 10 that made the top 100 in the U.S. But some of my fav GFR songs never hit the charts. I'm a big GNR fan also. I weigh both bands about the same. Too bad GNR can't get back together to pump out some more music.

When I started listening to Hard Rock & Metal in '88 I was barely 7, GN'R & Metallica were my obvious favorite bands in early 90's... & I think the first thing I did was pick up magazine and read what their influences were... & digging out what bands they covered... Thats what introduced me to all sorts of greats like MC5, Led Zep, Mountain... even Moody Blues... Or if you go further back... Beach Boys & Cliff Richard.

However, Guns N Roses brought more attention to the rock scene than Grand Funk Railroad, who unfortunatly blended in with its genre.
