  • Love the hotshot.

  • them wer the days

  • the bad thing about tamiyas there not well made

  • @cetrojans519

I don't know where you get that from. I've never had a badly constructed Tamiya RC. You must had some pretty bad luck.

  • I have my hotshot too! Didn't suppose there would be a film about it on youtoube :D my is still working :)

  • Still got my old hot shot those were the days I'll be digging it out this weekend

  • 0:39 eat sand spray !!!

  • just bought and made one of these :)

  • my 1st ever RC car, brings back good memories.

  • these where realy something in the 80s hornet, hotshot ,grasshopper , ruled !

  • wow, brings back some awesome memories...my bro had the hotshot, and i had the supershot....

  • great vintage vid

    i got a scorcher

then when this came i wanted one

and then stuck with scorcher wich even you must agrea was the best choice

  • great memories!! I vaguely remember putting one of those "black" motors on it and then it flew.

  • i have the hornet and the hot shot and the boxs they were bought in and all the stickes

  • glad they brought it back, and the new speed controller is a big improvement

  • I love these old promo vids. That anouncer is so boring and the music was lame but cool slo-mo shots. Brings back memories.

  • This video brings back great memories of playing in the backyard (including a swim in the pool) and RC races after school on Fridays... how many years ago was that? This machine would rock with a brushless / lipo setup.

My parents must have spent more on spare parts, chargers, batteries than the kit with transmitter originally cost. I would get a bag of parts for Christmas and another for my birthday! :)

  • Ahhh, the memories. I loved my Hotshot soooo much. I still have it in fact. Im loving watching these videos. The Wild Willy one was awsome. It was the first decent RC car i drove when i was very young so has stuck in my memory banks.

  • i hope that tamiya can re-release the 1/10 scale fox that was a great buggy 2wd and fast as hell wow they will make a lot of money if the re-release it.

  • the fox was good, but those universal shafts sucked big time, dont know how many i tore up, thankfully I found a new in the pack set on ebay, now I just run mine very carefully lol every now and then

  • ccooooollll

  • cool but would be better if it wasent all in slow mo

  • after you're done driving it you can shovel out your driveway with it..whats up with that bumper you could flip pancakes with that fucker

  • it kinda sucks that 25 yrs after the thign came out i finally get one. my neighbor was tossing out one of the ORIGINAL hotshots that he had cuz he couldnt fix it. i am soo glad i finally have one now.. its age shows but i am in the process of fixing it up. soo fun to drive

  • could you pop up the video or any pics of it??

  • yeah sure check out my channel within a week and ittl be up i just need to stick the motor controller back in it

  • soon

  • Stupid front damper construction.

I don't recall that mine had roll bars.

  • This and other old-school Tamiya videos have rekindled my childhood.

I had one of those when I was six. I was the envy of the neighborhood. Equivalent of having an Enzo Ferrari these days.

    Thank you, TAMIYAINC.

  • Yeah, I remember, a friend of mine had had one of them. Always in competition with my other friends Kyosho Optima Mid. I miss those days so much but am glad to be able to collect these fantastic vintage Tamiyas.

  • Damn hot rc buggy those days.

  • I always wanted this buggy when i was a youth, could never afford it:(. Despite what peeps have said about the handling etc..It is IMO the best looking vintage buggy + it's fun to drive-never been into serious comp racing!!! It' all about the fun with these shot buggies....

  • Amazing!! I love the part where they show the suspension travel and drive shaft. Very cool!! So tempted to get the re-release version now.

  • high tech old school buggy :)
