This video brings back great memories of playing in the backyard (including a swim in the pool) and RC races after school on Fridays... how many years ago was that? This machine would rock with a brushless / lipo setup.
My parents must have spent more on spare parts, chargers, batteries than the kit with transmitter originally cost. I would get a bag of parts for Christmas and another for my birthday! :)
Ahhh, the memories. I loved my Hotshot soooo much. I still have it in fact. Im loving watching these videos. The Wild Willy one was awsome. It was the first decent RC car i drove when i was very young so has stuck in my memory banks.
i hope that tamiya can re-release the 1/10 scale fox that was a great buggy 2wd and fast as hell wow they will make a lot of money if the re-release it.
the fox was good, but those universal shafts sucked big time, dont know how many i tore up, thankfully I found a new in the pack set on ebay, now I just run mine very carefully lol every now and then
it kinda sucks that 25 yrs after the thign came out i finally get one. my neighbor was tossing out one of the ORIGINAL hotshots that he had cuz he couldnt fix it. i am soo glad i finally have one now.. its age shows but i am in the process of fixing it up. soo fun to drive
Yeah, I remember, a friend of mine had had one of them. Always in competition with my other friends Kyosho Optima Mid. I miss those days so much but am glad to be able to collect these fantastic vintage Tamiyas.
I always wanted this buggy when i was a youth, could never afford it:(. Despite what peeps have said about the handling etc..It is IMO the best looking vintage buggy + it's fun to drive-never been into serious comp racing!!! It' all about the fun with these shot buggies....
Love the hotshot.

I don't know where you get that from. I've never had a badly constructed Tamiya RC. You must had some pretty bad luck.

I love these old promo vids. That anouncer is so boring and the music was lame but cool slo-mo shots. Brings back memories.

I don't recall that mine had roll bars.

This and other old-school Tamiya videos have rekindled my childhood.
I had one of those when I was six. I was the envy of the neighborhood. Equivalent of having an Enzo Ferrari these days.
Thank you, TAMIYAINC.
